  1. Resurrecting an older topic is better than starting a new one about the same subject!
  2. Did they test it per the procedures outlined in the service manual specific to the hybrids? I doubt that could happen in 5 minutes.
  3. You will be missed! Thanks for everything you brought to the group & all the lessons out of the Service Manual!
  4. Take a look at the PDF in this post: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9347-recalls-csps-gsms-and-outstanding-field-service-actions-fsas/?p=100763
  5. And how often do you have drunk passengers? ;) :kookie: :runaway: Solution: don't let drunk ppl ride in your car... People do get confused, but I've discovered that almost all new cars now behave this way. Not many continue to have conventional lock switches/buttons on the doors that can be physically released. So, over time the general population should be accustomed to the new style.
  6. Part of the 47 MPG fiasco was that Ford used an EPA loophole to use the FFH test results for the C-Max Hybrid window sticker, since the FFH was expected to sell better. For the Energi vehicles they used the C-Max Energi test results for the Fusion Energi window sticker since the C-Max Energi was expected to sell better (the 2013 Fusion Energi originally cost $40k+). Ford never changed that procedure, even when reevaluating the MPG results. Thus, to see the comparable difference in MPG of Energi versus hybrid you need to compare C-Max Hybrid versus C-Max Energi. C-Max Hybrid 42/37/40 C-Max Energi & Fusion Energi 40/36/38 Fusion Hybrid 44/41/42 Source: http://insideevs.com/ford-reduces-mpg-figures-plug-energi-models-c-max-fusion/ The Energi powertrain reduces highway MPG in the C-Max by 1 MPG. I'd expect similar results in the Fusion Energi if tested separately, something like 42/40/41. We have always seen better highway MPG in our Energi than we ever got with the FFH because of the larger battery pack. While the impact is small when doing 600+ miles per day with only one charge, it can be felt.
  7. On the center MFT screen? That means MFT crashed & is rebooting. The car says "scheduled maintenance" when this happens. This is an APIM issue & has nothing to do with how the car drives.
  8. Check out this thread: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6385-added-led-drls-into-the-fog-light-cover/
  9. It's a serious issue as the regen braking issue while turning problem proves.
  10. Most part failures either happen early on or late in vehicle life. Any update on what your issue was?
  11. Cool idea. Thanks! Any ideas for scratches in the piano black panels?
  12. How is it a safety hazard? I love this feature!
  13. Looks like a great car! We'll have to see how it sells.
  14. I doubt it. Did the dealer do any updates when this happened? That's what broke it for us. There's a thread on this forum where I wrote about it. Someone else had started it & I added my experience. I believe the title says something about "remote start greyed out". I have not had success now searching for it on my iPhone to give you the link, sorry.
  15. Starting with 2015 this is the way the FFH works too. No idea why Ford was so stubborn about this.
  16. Here are a variety of articles: http://insideevs.com/2017-ford-focus-100-miles-range-dc-fast-charging-arrives-next-fall-13-new-evs/ http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1101359_updated-2017-ford-focus-electric-100-mile-range-dc-fast-charging http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2015/12/10/ford-invest-electric-car-research/77113944/ http://www.autoblog.com/2015/12/10/2017-ford-fusion-detroit-auto-show/ http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2015/12/10/ford-teases-fusion-hybrid-expands-ev-research-globally/77072116/ Basically, the Focus Electric still won't be competitive with the Bolt & improved Leaf. And, Ford is revealing no details about the new Fusion Energi right now. Let the speculation begin!
  17. PremiumCare extends the B2B warranty, more or less. You must purchase the ESP before your 3/36 B2B warranty expires. However, the items mentioned above are already covered for longer than 3/36. My point was to keep that in mind when your calculating if the cost of an ESP is worth it. The items listed above will be covered beyond 3/36 without any ESP purchase by you.
  18. We have also noticed this. Only in the Fusion & not in the Focus Electric.
  19. When we spent 7 nights in Cali last winter our Energi learned EV+ for the vacation rental house within a couple days. It was helpful to stretch every last Wh of electricity out of the pack before plugging in...
  20. Well said! This is what Ford should be advertising about the car! This is what we've been calling for since 2012...
  21. Or just floor it when accelerating on a freeway entrance ramp. The display goes up as high as it does because that's the maximum power than can be provided by the HVB. But, in normal driving it is more efficient to limit the power available from the HVB. Limiting the power draw in normal operation also protects the HVB from stress.
  22. I'd say that 3.8 made things worse in some ways. For example, with 3.6.2 when a text message was received while the car was moving you could only listen to the message, not view it on the MFT screen. But, you could press the "view" button. This would bring up a screen that would say that the feature was disabled because the vehicle is in motion, but when the car would stop the text message would appear. This was very useful to me. If I got a text message and I knew I would be stopping soon, I'd press that view button & then I could see the text on the MFT screen once I stopped. With 3.8 you cannot press the view button unless you're stopped. We definitely will not be updating to 3.8 on the Fusion Energi & I wish there was a way to go back to 3.6.2 in our Focus Electric.
