mokee Report post Posted July 20, 2013 Turmoil in Egypt...apparently increases the price of heavy Canadian, even tho it's only sourced to the US and Canadian refineries. Prices in the Chicago area are and remain above $4 a gallon. It's comforting to know that when Egypt becomes turmoil-less that our gas prices might decline....meanwhile the F-150 sits and the bicycles and the FFH get daily use. djminfll Report post Posted July 20, 2013 We have gone from $3.35 to $3.69, almost a 10% increase, in the last 3 days. I don't think it has anything to do with the George Zimmerman decision though. CNN reported it is due to turmoil in Egypt. All of this just makes me love my FFH even more.
kuzzi Report post Posted July 24, 2013 http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/07/24/gas-well-leak/2581879/ Finally a reason to raise natural gas prices. Electric companies rejoice. I'm happy to have an efficient home and car. 1 mokee reacted to this
Da0ne Report post Posted July 24, 2013 3.99 for regular near me
mokee Report post Posted July 25, 2013 $3.999 at Costco and closest station. The CEO of Gulf oil was on with the tube yesterday predicting gasoline prices to fall under $3.00 per gallon. Here in Chicagoland they got us trained to give a sigh of relief when unleaded regular falls below $4 a gallon. Oh no! There's flooding in Alberta where all that Canadian heavy comes from, so it won't stay under $4 for long.
acdii Report post Posted July 26, 2013 RIIIGHT, under $4! .001 under $4. LOL $3.999. 1 corncobs reacted to this
dalesky Report post Posted July 26, 2013 Falling again here, down about a dime most places, to 3.35. Almost always the cheapest state in the union.
kuzzi Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Got back from my weekend in Louisiana. Several ethanol free places in Louisiana or near Toledo Bend Reservoir in Texas (for the bass boats). Price was around $3.75/gal when E10 was $3.35/gal, so a 40 cent premium. Got back home and gas was $3.25/gal. Did 38 mpg at 75 mph on big rolling hills and stagnant wind. Also, lovebugs are in season so itais time to pull out the heavy duty scrubber to wash the car now.
acdii Report post Posted September 3, 2013 Just wait, when the idiots in office decide to send missiles to Syria, gas prices will skyrocket. They (those who speculate) are saying $150 a barrel if a strike does happen. Today, gas is at an all time low here of $3.59(as in the last year and a half). I can't remember the last time Illinois and Florida had prices so close to each other! When you were running at $4+, we were at about $3.

acdii Report post Posted September 5, 2013 Gas WAS at 3.59, later that day it went up to 3.69. I filled with 89 @ $3.74 today(which is actually lower than some stations sell 89) When the missiles soar though, it wont stay there for long. My prediction is within a week of an attack the price will be at least $4.30 a gallon, all based on speculation too.
TX NRG Report post Posted September 21, 2013 As summer comes to a close, and summer driving season is a few weeks back in the rear view mirror, prices continue their steady drop with a large over supply of refined gas available with gulf coast production and refineries operating continuously without evacuations or shut down due to tropical storm or hurricane threats. Prices here have dropped another 30-40 cents in the last 5 weeks, with big average drops of 10 cents or more in the last week with a large range of prices. Seemed like last weekend local stations were trying to all hold the price from dropping below $3.19. The lowest 25-30 stations on gas buddy were all uniformly at $3.19 then. This weekend, a few stations are at $2.95, some more at $2.98 and a large bunch at $3.03-$3.09 with some remaining holdouts in the $3.1Xs. Nice to see prices moving in the right direction. SteveB_TX Report post Posted September 22, 2013 I always forget about Sams since I had a diesel before and they didn't sell diesel. It's like Alot cheaper here Our Sams sucks for gas prices. Walmart is usually cheaper than our Sams. Heck, Fina aka Alon across the street is usually cheaper. :banghead:

thavil Report post Posted September 22, 2013 $3.13 on base. $3.15 off base. :)Just providing info if you didn't already know this. By law, there must must a gas station within 5 or 10 miles selling at $3.13 for them to set that price. I did some research when I got stationed in the DC area in 1992, because Bolling AFB's prices were crazy compared to where I lived. I just "assumed" that Exchange prices would always be cheaper for us military folk. All base/post prices are set to match the local area.
mokee Report post Posted September 29, 2013 I filled up my boat and my truck in Spartanburg, SC at a Wilco/Hess. The price was $2.999 per gallon. I haven't seen regular gas under $3.00 inforever! We got back home and the local stations are $3.599 and $3.639. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
