Gas Prices?

Prices have been steadily dropping in the past weeks at my location and any jump in price before the weekend will probably be due to the holiday and some people getting greedy. Seems like those Speedway stations are just taking advantage of the holiday by jumping 40 cents.

 

Oil has been steadily increasing for the past couple of weeks and jumped to above $100/bbl today, but we shouldn't see any major gas price increases in my area for at least two weeks after the jump. Gas prices may start going up a cent or two every week to account for the $1/week oil bbl increase over the past month.

$3.03 yesterday and $3.39 today.....isn't that special and that's just at Sam's Club. All the area stations made a corresponding jump....rat bastards.

2.99 at Sams yesterday in Las Cruces. BUT, that is fifty cents LOWER that it is here in town just 70 miles to the north. That is the lowest I have seen regular in years ....

 

BTW, it only consumes less that 2 gallons to drive the 70 miles to buy it, so I had a HS reunion committee yesterday, saved 6 bucks.... :)

Stations near me are $3.39-$3.41, average in FL is $3.49. What I don't understand is how some stations are charging as much as $3.89 for regular, and some are as low as $3.29. Why would anyone spend $3.89 when it is clearly the highest price for no other reason than greed?

Any chance that the $3.89 station is selling pure gasoline (no ethanol)?

$3.38 in Sharon, $3.44 in Belvidere, and $3.69 in Harvard. These are all in a 12 mile circle. $3.23 up in MN.

So prices stayed pretty flat here in Houston over the holiday. Oil has jumped a few dollars in the past month so I expect to see an incremental increase soon in the next couple of weeks.

 

Gas prices stay relatively flat in your neck of the woods over the holiday? (Aside from those greedy stations that jumped 50 cents overnight).

in nyc i have seen by me go up to 3.77 for regular to back down to 3.75, today i noticed its back up to 3.77

Small waves here, up 10 down 5, up 15, down 6. Still too high compared to other states.

Gas prices jumped from $3.19 to $3.49 yesterday. Strange that they continued dropping through the 4th but spiked right after the holiday weekend.

Been staying under $3.10 here in Myrtle Beach area. Can't complain. Even driving the Mustang a little harder now, due to the 'cheap' gas.

The price of wholesale gas has risen about 23 cents over the last ten days to $2.94/gal and US crude hit a 14 month high today. Prices at the pump should be inching back up as that increase flows through the supply chain.

Gas retailers don't wait for the supply to go through the pipeline. They jack up the price immediately to whatever they think the public will pay. Stations here raised their price .35/gal overnight and it's the same gas from the day before that's in their storage tanks. ratbastards....

I left the house yesterday, and the two cheapest gas stations in town had regular gas for $3.35/gallon.

I came home 2 hours later, and the price on both was $3.45/gallon. Really? Both stations got delivery of new, more expensive gas at the same time?

Our closest gas stations are $3.95 and $3.90. Costco is $3.72. I was on Washington Island, WI last week and bought pure regular gas for $4.07 for the F150. The mpg jumped up after the fill up 2 mpg. That's about a 10% increase.

Wow, 35 cents overnight. I'd go elsewhere. Our closest Kroger's went up 2 cents today to $3.37 after being $3.35 since at least Sunday. Costco is still $3.27. We've got a lot of competition with 2 or 3 stations at every intersection a mile or so apart so any station that tries to get greedy like that gets passed over and they lose their vending sales where they make their profits.

Problem is....the town of Elsewhere also jumped their prices....

I noted here on July 10th that gas jumped up 10 cents fro $3.35 to $3.45. Since then, they dropped back to $3.35. But yesterday, prices were $3.54. The sometimes good/sometimes bad part of driving a hybrid is that from one tankful to the next the fluctuations can be wild. I filled up on Saturday for $3.35; I'm hoping that before I have to fill up again, prices will drop back down!

Wholesale gas up another 18 cents in the last week to $3.12 but only up 12 cents to $3.49 at the Kroger's during that time. Still more room to go up a bit before summer driving season is over and we get a surplus of gas. Here's hoping the tropical storms continue to not develop and stay away from gulf refineries.

I guess any excuse to raise prices works for them.

Or.....just plain ole greed. All you have to do is follow the oil company stocks and profits. All I can say is my two daily drivers are hybrids.....no windfall profits from me anymore. ratbastards
