The Scoop on JOB2 Start Date for 2013 - Fusion Hybrid Titanium and Energi

Recommended Posts

I am not so sure about the above info, using my build as a reference. I got a cyberdman update on Dec 11th of 'in production - trim line' with status date of Dec 10th and then I checked Etis each day and on Dec 12th saw that Etis populated the build date of Dec 11th. Then on Dec 18th I asked for another cyberdman update and the status was 'Awaiting Shipment - Re-Released - Ford Hermosillo Assembly, SO Dec-15-2012, 00:00 EST.' which tells me OK I guess they found some issue that needed tweaking and that was completed on Dec 15th. However the build date in Etis still shows Dec 11th, and I expect it will match the date in OASIS for the Production Date when I do take it for service since I checked my other Ford VINs between Etis and the work orders from the service dept and the dates match. So this leads be to believe that the date shown in Etis is correct for the build and the date of Mar 25th on yours is when the VIN was sent to production? If the dealer claims to have the inside info then he/she should be able to produce a historical vehicle visibility report that shows the full status and date/time of each step, right? I am an authority of nothing but tend to think that the VVR would have the correct info, wouldn't it?

Lately, Ive been poking fun at pubically accesible Ford information systems. However, to date, I've not requested status from cyberdman and perhaps now would be a good time to ask for the real build time-line of events from start of assembly to finish. If cyberdman will provide the time-line, a highly reputable source of information could be used for reference against all the other information that was provided to me up to now. I'll give it a try and share all that results.

Well I visited http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/forum/80-vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees/ and found a notice at top of page that said I could not post a new thread. Tried to find a way to make a post there to ask for a timeline but failed - Posting rules are confusing - they say that you have to make 10 posts to this site in order to post (Catch 22?). Has cyberdman closed his site to new requesters?

You have 42 posts so should be able to post a question / topic / thread no problem.

You have to post 9 more times in other areas (not the vehicle locator by ford employees section) to be able to post to cyberdman. Or are you saying you can't even post on any of the other subject matters on the site?

I don't imagine he will give the whole timeline run down on your order ... just the last update. But I have been wrong before. Good luck.

My dealer's exact wording was "Shipping container has it" and he attached a screen grab of the information he had read => "2222 P0R VIN Number Fusion Awaiting Shipment -01002 (Allied Systems, Ltd) Ramp 24 Apr 05-2013, TBD TBD 00:11 MT N/A".

Looks like I missed the boat cause I've been shipped by rail. From my dealer today:

2222

P0R

VIN Number

Fusion

In Transit

Shipped Rail - Railcar # ETTX851037 (Ferrocarril Mexicano S.a. De C.v. )

Ramp 54, Hermosillo Asy, SO

Apr-05-2013, 18:00 MT

TBD

TBD

N/A

From acdii's last post, However, the rail car can technically be called the shipping container, since they are enclosed. :)

, and a picture of the rail car:

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZCV-FadV5UQ?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I do think that what my dealer referred to as a container was indeed a 3-level rail car. In my case, my car was driven onto the container a day prior to rolling down the rails on its way to yours truely.

Thats Nutz! Actually cars going overseas dont go in shipping containers either, they are transported in huge car carriers which are nothing more than huge indoor parking lots with tie downs.

A few years ago I had a car shipped from Germany and I was there when it was unloaded. It was in a shipping container.

Germany might only because they dont really have a sea side port like Japan and Korea, which were the ones I was thinking of. This is what is usually used to transport cars overseas, if you look there is a ramp in the stern, and one in the middle.

Germany actually has two large sea ports for car shipments; Bremerhaven & Emden.

Cars are transported via rail there and then loaded on to a car transport ship like acdii said and shows in the picture above.

If you import/export cars as individual or in smaller units then they are placed into a regular shipping container sometimes even 4 at the time; depending on car size.

Hmmm, I forgot they had sea access, but then thinking back, they must have for the Bismark and uboats. Doh. I was also thinking the same thing, special shipments would come in a container.

Well, my car was scheduled to build on April 5th. Two days later there's nothing on ETIS. Could it be because no system updates are made on weekends? Anybody knows?

Mine is scheduled to be build tomorrow. Hoping the line workers were not out drinking too much tequila over the weekend!

Thank-you Riggo. The Ford Fusion Hybrid forum was the only site I had been posting to. After posting to other Blue Oval forum threads until the count was 10, I was able to post to the vehicle-locator-by-ford-employees thread.

Cyberdman's production start/finish/ship status reponse today confirms what was provided by the window sticker and Etis sites - they are in exact agreement. My cars timeline was:

1. Built 4/4/13

2. Shipped 4/5/13 and on-rail ever since

3. 4/8/13 in-transit - passing (Union Pacific Railroad) Dalhart, TX 01:25 CT

It is apparent that my dealership requires vehicle visability status training.

My car built 4/5/13 and is awaiting shipment. What is the average time from built to shipped?

My car was built on 4/1 and shipped late in the day on 4/2.

It's now 4/8 and its approximately 70% of the way here.

Built 27 MAR

Shipped 28 MAR

Train arrived in Metro Detroit 5 APR

ETA 13 APR

The fact that I work within a stones throw of it right now pains me!

Has anyone received theirs yet anywhere? I still have not seen 1 picture!

man I hope I get my VIN tomorrow. My wife has been bugging me for about two weeks to drop the order and replace the truck instead of the car, but man, I really want the Hyti. I like the new F150s, but I LOVE the Fusions.
