  1. Luckily i took delivery of mine the moment it came off the truck, so there is no sticker...lol. I was so happy when i saw that :) The spoiler looks sharp! I have a feeling my wife wont let me get one put on...lol!
  2. ouch! i was wondering the same thing when i turned off the car and noticed a million finger prints on the screen from me playing with the nav!
  3. I briefly pressed "reset" while in EV mode and it shot to 99.9 for a second for the MPGs. I am still loving the upper 40mpgs im getting on my 4 mile commute to work...lol :) I turned to my wife and said "i feel so much better getting 40 instead of the 11 we got in the jeep..."
  4. Picked up the vehicle this past tuesday (just in time for turkey as i had hoped!!!). Black/Black 502A. Just like everyone else, im gonna say that this vehicle is AMAZING. I now find excuses to drive, and drive far. I have a grocery store a couple of blocks from my house, but decided the one across town was the way to go this morning...lol. Although i do have to mention that the backup warning SCARED THE S___ OUT OF ME THIS MORNING! LOL! I briefly forgot it had that feature. Just to recap for data collecting purposes: Ordered 10/08/09 Received 11/24/09 Just over 6 weeks from start to finish. I hope everyone has as good luck as i did, considering when i ordered the vehicle they told me it would take 10-12 weeks.
  5. Well, I spoke to ford customer care on Monday and the lady quoted me Nov 25th as the "estimated time of arrival at the dealership." This is 5 days closer than the 30th that was quoted to me by the dealer and 12 days closer than what ford customer care originally quoted me (Dec 7th). I cant take the wait anymore....lol :waiting: :hysterical:
  6. So i had called FCC on the 6th and they said the car would leave on Monday the 9th. She then went on to tell me that the info the dealer has is more accurate...I left the dealer an email with that info and he responded with "you still wont get the car till the 30th of november." I asked him about rail information and he seemed dumbfounded and reiterated the 30th of november date. Yesterday i receive a phone call from the dealer saying the car left the factory (on the 6th), and again told me it takes the car nearly a month to reach illinois from mexico.... i am wondering if he and FCCare being overly conservative with the delivery date of the 30th so i cant use it against him for negotiation. i.e. he tells me the car comes the 20th of november, it doesnt arrive and i get angry and demand a lower price or something of the sort...(is the plausible?), or is it so that when the car comes in early it makes them look good lol :hysterical2: Either way, i ordered the vehicle on 10/08 and its on its way. Now if i can just get rail info...lol From another thread, a person was tracking their vehicle and it took 6 days to get to illinois. im still hoping for a pre thanksgiving (actual) delivery date (but at least the car is coming before christmas!). Im not getting my hopes up, but im excited either way.
  7. I would imagine it is possible to get a partial vin because from what i understand all Ford Fusion Hybrids have the same beginning VIN. For example, according to the Ford Fleet website VIN lookup the following is what was given for my vin: 3FADP0L34ARxxxxxx the 3FA means that the assembly country is Mexico (where it was built), it is a Ford and it is a Sedan the D means the type of vehicle restraint system type the P0L means its a Fusion Hybrid Passenger Car the 3 is the engine type (hybrid) (i am guessing the 4 is because it is a four cylinder engine) the A is the model year (2010) the R means assembly plant (Hermosillo) and finally the xxxxxx's i put is the production sequence number (which will vary for all of us) here is the website if anyone is interested. https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/VIN_tools/default.asp So in theory this will all be the same for anyone who has a Ford Fusion Hybrid (except for the production sequence number). Hope this helps!!! Please correct me if im wrong ;)
  8. ouch, too bad you can't tell them to leave it at a dealership near them. I'm sure the 90 min drive wouldn't hurt ya, especially to get the new vehicle!!! I can imagine your frustration! My dealer called 10 mins ago and said ours will be delivered the week of the 30th this month! Hopefully no stops 90 mins from here ;)
  9. pretend the top boxes match the bottom all the way across lol
  10. So after looking at the window sticker, i have a question. What do the hash marks at the top mean? here is my best description/drawing...lol: |CMC | | |U |R |BM | | | |X | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |CERT|CERT|CERT|TRD|RAMP|BUMP|CAMP|BOOK|AFV|FSCP| Any ideas? Thanks in advance
  11. You're right, i shouldnt blame all, but to get yelled at by the salesman (who yells at a customer who wants to get a vehicle?) and talked to like a jack@$$ by the manager really made me not like GM. I remember the drive home, and saying to my wife: "Free oil changes and car washes? Hell, the car washes are usually FREE at the dealerships around here as a courtesy!" I bit my tongue when i went to a Ford dealership to get a FFH a few months ago. The salesman was AWESOME! Really nice guy, took the time to listen to us, and we were gonna place the order for the FFH. Then the GM came out and tried to sell me an Escape Hybrid off of his lot....used. After i declined he tried to sell me a Fusion SE....used. I declined again. HE goes on to tell me that i would need to drive 10,000,000 miles (exaggeration) and keep the car for 100 years (another exaggeration) for me to recoup the money spend on the FFH as opposed to the SE. :redcard: The manager then asked me: "What can i do to get you to take this 2010 Fusion Sport today? You said you wanted NAV (Which i did), i can add that for an additional 2,000" I looked at him, and said: "Ill take this car (pointing to the Sport) if you put in the Nav, and put a hybrid engine in the front and battery in the back..." I finished by saying: "Im here and ready to buy a $30,000 vehicle....and you want to talk me out of it???" :banghead: The look on his face was priceless! :headspin: Luckily the Michigan-Notre Dame game was on and Michigan won so i forgot about how angry i was and went to a different Ford dealer a few weeks later, ordering my new vehicle. :)
  12. Has anyone had luck receiving a discount? If so, how did you go about getting it? My cousin is a Cop, and my brother in law is in the army. Theyre too lazy to join the forum and post, so i said id do it for them....lol :finger:
  13. I HATE THAT LINE!!! "Feed my kids/family" It reminds me of when i went to lease a chevy malibu back in the day. I had a relative who worked for GM and she told me "dont settle for anything under $xxx." She gave me some documents with prices and i showed it to the salesman. He got VERY ANGRY, saying "how did you get this!!!?" "I CANT GIVE IT TO YOU FOR THAT! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEED MY FAMILY!!!" Mind you, he had a board of Polaroid pics of him and about (I kid you not) 75 customers he sold cars to over the last 3 months.... I looked at him and said "if i pay what YOURE asking, how am i supposed to feed MY family!" Then the argument began. It got heated to the point where he was yelling at my wife and I and the manager had to come over! The managers solution: "How about free oil changes and car washes for a year?" I stormed out with them chasing me to my Wrangler... True story, I cant make this stuff up... Havent stepped foot in a GM dealership since. I digress, my Window Sticker appeared online today. Realistically, how long do you guys think it'll be till im driving away? FCC told me the car will be on the lot 12/07. Order was placed 10/08...From what I gather, im thinking ill have it by Thanksgiving :) or am I too optimistic?
  14. There is the problem...you used the words "Microsoft" and "think" in the same sentence :redcard: lol Have you tried using a different browser such as Firefox? Maybe that could help, but IE should emulate older versions like stated before.
  15. I was always curious too about breaking in an engine. I have never had a new car before...ive always purchased a used vehicle. I did a quick google search on "how to break in a car" and guess what came up...LOL! :banghead: After modifying the search terms on google i got about 20 different suggestions relating to the "Breaking in" of a vehicle (beat the :censored: out of it, drive really fast and then really slow the next day, etc.) so i asked a buddy at work who was a mechanic. He told me basically not to drive at certain speeds for an extended period of time (what the book says). Here is my problem: I am driving from Chicago to Detroit in January (with, i assume under the stated 1,000 miles on the odometer...unless i take meaningless trips to get over the 1,000 mile mark...i plan on getting the vehicle in early December) so is it in my best interest to drive...lets say...75 for a little bit, and then drop to 70 for a little bit and then up to 80 for a bit (the speed limit in michigan is 70...)? Or are those speeds too close together? What have you guys been doing to break in your vehicle? According to my calculations though, i should be able to drive from Chicago to Detroit (and back) on one tank of gas :happy feet: :shift:
