  1. Just one of those psycho MONK things... I don't like locks, either, but it would nice if the option was there. Actually, I'd be happier if a button could be pressed inside the car and the door would pop open.
  2. Weird that Honda is doing the same thing with the mirrors. I'll have to check at my Ford dealer, late at night so I won't be shadowed by a sales droid. If the Fusion folding mirror can he had with the same peripheral object alert, etc., might be purchaseable from parts. But, that surely would be expensive. GM charges about $300 per folding mirror with all the bells and whistles.

    Folding Key

Good job! Thanks for sharing this!!!
  4. Oh, I'll agree with part of that---just that my package has all the "luxury stuff" (501A), plus leather. Seems foldable mirrors, if anything, could be an option or even an add-on purchase. I tried to check to see if the "lesser" Fusions had foldable mirrors, but the Ford website is so hung up on Flash this, Flash that, for even the basic interface, I couldn't find a real list of features, other than the brochures in .pdf format. In short, I didn't really see any mention of foldable mirrors, yay or nay. So, this means if you bump into a pole (carelessness!) with your mirror, you have taken out the mirror housing and maybe the mirror itself. Kinda expensive bump. Whereas on the GM, you'd just be out on a re-paint of the housing. SIGH.... I think the reason I keep ragging on this is because for the most part, this car has everything done absolutely right. Usually, I'll find a major issue that will bug me for years. It is rare to find just this little salt-in-the-wound thang. This is such a great car.
  5. Just one locking interior compartment. Doesn't matter which one, just one. My gosh, we have three compartments.
  6. Yeah, that was a very lame excuse. About 15 years ago, I had a Honda Civic hatchback and it had folding mirrors. Now, why would I remember that? Well, went to a Jack-in-the-Box carryout and bumped into the pipe that protects the carryout window. The mirror housing folded in. Whew! Other than scratched paint on the mirror's housing, nothing was damaged.
  7. Sure the truck is wider, but nearly any vehicle's outside mirrors can fold inward, if anything, to keep them from being damaged if you bump into something with the mirror. The power fold idea is just a cool option, but folding mirrors---I thought was standard for just about any vehicle. Anyway, it is just a surprising feature that is left out of an otherwise very elegant car.
  8. Yeah.... I was sorta hoping :hysterical2: that someone would say, "...just go to such-n-such URL and you'll find mirror accessories that will work!" Gosh, this car... economy reading slowly is creeping up as I drive it. So impressed with it.
  9. I sooooo enjoy my Ford Fusion Hybrid. The feature set is rich, comfort is marvelous, and driveability is beyond anything I ever expected. Just the little stuff bugs me.... The car came without break-away mirrors, aka folding mirrors. If someone in a parking lot walks into them, the mirror housing could potentially, maybe, become damaged. Nearly every vehicle I know today has folding mirrors. My are as stationary as they can be. My GM truck (bless its bankrupt heart) has not only folding mirrors, but by a touch of a button, they are electrically folded inwards. This is handy for car washes or when parking the big truck in a tight parking lot. I would setting for just "standard" folding mirror housings. I have dug through the accessory listings and haven't found anything from Ford. Does anyone know of a replacement?
  10. Yup, that's where it is all right.... I passed right over that page, wading through all the other debris.
  11. In my earlier fit of trying to wake up, for some reason, I was thinking 1,700 miles was how far away the other dealer was. If it isn't that, and if the mileage accumulated is due to a salesperson demo car, or even a customer deal that went sour, then there's some issues. So am modifying my previous message's thoughts with this. The dealer really needs to give you a "program car" discount. That should be at least a $1500 - $2500 discount.
  12. I'll go the opposite direction.... don't let the miles scare you off. Most "bugs" in the car will show up in this time frame, if there are any. You'll be getting a car that has been well tested. When I was in college, ages ago, I used to drive cars from one dealer to another as a part time school job. Often I had to turn in a trouble report. Remote starter??? Ah heck, take it. I wouldn't let that throw the deal away. Cool the car off in the summer, warm it in the winter, as you are getting ready/dressed, etc. This car is so marvelously wonderful that I don't think I would have the patience of waiting.
  13. It is cool. I am adjusting... I think I'm still reeling over the Powered by MICROSOFT emblem on the console (for the Sync). Now THAT will definitely take some time.
  14. Well, didn't work. Said I didn't have permission to go there. So, I tried finding it myself by going to http://www.motorcraftservice.com but I need to subscribe. That's OK. Surely this is in my warranty book, but I just can't find it, probably right in front of me. EDIT: HA! Take that! I registered and now have the document: (4) Your vehicle’s unique components are covered during the Hybrid Vehicle Unique Component Coverage, which lasts for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The following parts are covered during this extended coverage period: high-voltage battery, continuously variable transmission and the DC/DC converter. In addition, the high-voltage battery connector, fan assembly, thermister probe, hybrid battery pack sensor module (HBPSM), and the battery energy control module (BECM) are covered for the Fusion Hybrid and the Milan Hybrid only.
  15. Howdy... apologies for the hi-jack.... New here. Where is this in the warranty booklet? I tried to find this info and it seems to spend so much time on the California exceptions that I just couldn't find the warranty for the battery pack, etc. I'm in Texas.
