  1. Which is exactly the purpose of the fog lights... Depends on whether you are after function or style. Yellowish lighting is far superior in hazy/foggy weather due to the way our eyes react to the color spectrum. Ages ago, I lived in a very tropical country which had constant fog and rain. Even the headlamps were yellow--by law. Replacing my fogs with yellow bulbs is exactly what I want to do.
  2. Y'all... I really do like my Fusion Hybrid. Honestly. A marvelous car with quality and great gasoline mileage, but its dash console is so durned busy. Reviewers have said that, and so have some of us here. But, the new Buick Regal has outdone the Fusion on a very busy console. I really would be a bit anxious when navigating through all the controls at 70 mph. Image is from this Motor Trend article. 2009 LA Autoshow:

Can't recall where you ordered from. Do you have the link of the vendor?
  4. I have yet to find that thing, along with the passenger fuse box, and the little red button. ;>) In spite of all the messages stating where these are.
  5. This might be it: http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/goss/2914.shtml
  6. Looks great... nice appearance. I'd be concerned about one bad hit with a pot hole with those 18s, though.
  7. They don't make them for the Ford Fusion.
  8. Doesn't quite sound like it, but I wonder if you had it in "L" by mistake. I frequently do that--not sure why.
  9. For reference, my 4-cylinder Pontiac G5 warning would come on at about 7500 miles. Since the FFH's ICE isn't quite as active, I find it interesting in a positive way that the mileage is "predictably" higher on its oil life. Surely, all the manufacturers are using the same oil-life formula for the monitor.
  10. Well, yeah---true. I mean, I could hit as low as 5 MPG first starting out of the driveway, and as high as 60+ mpg when letting up on the accelerator at highway speeds.
  11. Excellent photos.....!!!!! You wouldn't have a real link to the product? There are: "8,441 results found" for xenonwholesale88.
  12. This is NOT an electric car.... Level, non-hilly road.... not stop 'n go, stop 'n go............ I'd guess about 1 1/2 minutes at 45 mph. I think that is pretty close. At 55 mph on a thirty minute ride, minimal hills, you should easily hit the mid 40s. With hills, you should get high 30s, low 40s. If you really nurse the accelerator while going 55 mph, you could hit the low 50s. On a comical note, there is one hilly main road with a long and gentle decline, but punctuated with a lot of traffic signals. On a very rare day, I hit almost every traffic signal green............ nearly every one. The end result is that I traveled about four miles on this road at the traffic flow of 35 mph or so. HA! My gas mileage on the gauge was about 95 MPG! Oh, if this was only typical!
  13. Dealer visit for 3 and 4, mainly for the inability to turn off the climate system for 4. 20 - 25 mpg is bizarre. I live in a very hilly area and with the temperatures in the 30s, I rarely dip below 33 mpg. But I think heavy acceleration as a chronic routine could dip the MPG into the low 20s (going by a very long and unusually quick ascending and high hilly road I have to get on).
  14. Yes I have and I'm sorry you are going through all of this. I wish I could help. I would never want to have your dealer. But, I stand by my post.
  15. Probably why GM has it with a dealer enable/disable option.... ah well.
  16. Yeah.... this car is a mystery in some ways. The major engineering accomplishments are spot-on, nearly perfect. Just the little simple stuff that wasn't included....
  17. Not so on leaving the ignition on.... Obviously, parking lights aren't included since I left them on via the switch and the battery was dead.
  18. No doubt, just surprised me. The GM brand vehicles have the parking lights timing out, though, and I was just used to that (dealer disable option). Not knocking anything, just surprised me, and of course I was irritated that I left the parking light selection to "on".
  19. I had a scare the other day. I'm used to GM. This is the FIRST Ford I have ever owned. My GM vehicles will not leave lights on forever if the headlight switch is manually set to parking lights. I think they time out after 15 minutes, to protect the battery from discharging. As far as I can tell, this is not the case with my FFH. I can't remember why I manually set the lamp switch to parking light mode but I did so, forgot about it, went into the house and the lamps shined for hours. Discharge of the battery was complete and the car was dead. My first reaction was a mild-panic. I recalled the manual stating about warranty issues if the high voltage battery is totally discharged and worried that SOMEHOW it had discharged. But, no, that wasn't the case, only the 12 volt battery was discharged. Now, I know why there is a separate battery for purposes besides electrical propulsion. My second reaction was surprise. Frequently, when going to the airforce base in Shreveport, we are told to turn off headlights and use the parking lights. In spite of all the chimes, I get sloppy and forget to turn off the lights when leaving the car. Not so anymore! But, I never worried about it with the GM stuff. Third reaction was RELIEF. My FFH was absolutely stone-cold dead. That will create a helpless feeling. I couldn't get a second vehicle in position to jump off from, so had to use a battery charger. Nothing unique about this charger--cheap. But, in only five minutes, enough charge had been pushed into the 12 volt battery that my FFH came back to life, resurrected. With an ICE-only car, this could have taken nearly an hour. Fourth reaction was--> lesson learned. This ain't a GM vehicle. The parking lights will not time out. Not sure about the headlights, I don't want to test that. The lamp rotary switch is in full-view. Do not leave it any position but 0 or AUTO. Don't be sloppy and those chimes are ringing for a reason. Finally, hi-jacking my own thread..... if your FFH has DRL enabled, and you are from a GM background, the 0 on the rotary switch will NOT turn off your DRL as it does on the GM, at least not on my dealer-enabled FFH. I might be missing something, haven't dug any deeper other than surrendering to the idea that they cannot be turned off.
  20. LIkewise, while doing some outdoor work (before the winter mess), I used my FFH's accessory mode exactly as I have done on previous vehicles. Sometimes, I'd have the FFH's radio playing for hours as I worked outside. Now, obviously, I didn't have the lights on, nor the fan. Nothing blew up, no batteries (!!!) were discharged.
  21. Nothing complicated at all... just a bunch of push-button envy, that's all.
  22. Dude... deflector on the hood? What about the grill, headlights, fog lights?
  23. I agree with the agreement.... The manual mentions that mileage drops during cold weather. And definitely, short trips really penalizes the gas mileage. I would suggest about 3 - 5 miles minimum is what is needed to get all cranking up rather good. This is probably true for any vehicle. I am so pleased with this car this winter. Compared to my Pontiac G5, which is a sweet little car in its own right and SMALLER in size, my FFH is simply a more economical car to drive, even with this nutty winter weather.
  24. I would most certainly take the car in to the dealer, but in the meantime.............: Had this with a wheel on my Pontiac G5, but the car was out of warranty. Nearly all the factory wheels, I think, are clear-coated. In my case, the clear coating was bubbling on a couple of spots and that led to pealing. I decided to go for broke. I purchased some fine grit sand paper and a rattle-can can of Clear Coat. I sanded and smoothed out the bubble and pealing area and sprayed with the Clear Coat. I didn't use much. I hand polished it all, and the area looked new. I was impressed enough with the repair that I treated the other wheels which which had dings and chips on them. I'm terrible with rattle-can paint repair, but this really worked. So, if the dealer backs away from warranty repair, and if you don't want to go through the aggravation of it all, rattle-can paint repair might be an option.
  25. I don't have the NAV option, meaning my rear view camera shows up on the left side of the rear view mirror. Scott's message is spot on. My main contribution to the discussion, if you don't get the NAV system, is that the glass of the rear view mirror can over-ride the camera display if there is too much glare. So, I bought an iPOD anti-glare stick-on sheet from Wal-mart for a couple of bucks for a pack of them. Trimmed it to fit, placed it on the camera display area, and the glare is mainly a non-problem now. Honestly, the rear camera option is simply great. It should be "standard".
