  1. I just filled 15.332 gallons on 644 miles driven. (42 mpg) I would have gone more but the car was reading 9 miles to empty. I could not force anymore into the tank when I filled up. Any thoughts on why I only could fill 15.332 gallons of gas when the reading was 9 miles to empty? I thought we had a 17.5 gallon tank.
  2. It seems like a very fair price. You could never buy it used (a lease repossession etc) for that price. I think it would be 26K to buy it used from a dealer. I would get an early oil change because the car has been sitting. I would also check to make sure the battery is still charged (not the 12 volt but the EV battery). Sounds like a find to me.
  3. My reason for buying both a FFH and MMH had nothing to do with the environment. I simply wanted to use less foreign oil. The thought of my money going to our enemies is the reason I went Hybrid. The thought of young Americans having to fight in the middle east so that we can have cheap oil is the reason I went Hybrid. The environment is a fine cause; it was simply not my main reason.
  4. I took my car in at 4:15 p.m. and was out by 4:55 p.m. My only gripe is that it reset my long term fuel economy.
  5. I bought a FFH and Mercury Mariner Hybrid for my wife. Will Turbo tax do more than one credit correctly? Thanks. Richard
  6. I appreciate the tip. I don't need the hassle of having the car towed.
  7. Then you click on standard liner and a menu comes up for the Hybrid. I have had this liner since June. I will say that it needed about 2 weeks to air out first because it smelled like a a rubbermade factory. (what I perceive a rubber factory would smell like)
  8. I have the Lloyd's rubbertite cargo liner in my Hybrid. I you go to autoanything.com you can get it to fit your FFH. You have to select it specifically. Richard
  9. If there is a TSB on something, should we go to the dealer for replacement? I know they now correct problems on the assembly line now so could the FFH others have already have the issue resolved? I am reluctant to have any repair on something that has not had a problem for me, so I wonder how people use the fact the a TSB exists for any issue.
  10. I think people misunderstand the benefit of the EV mode by over-using it. If you deplete the battery to the point the ICE comes on and must re-charge it, you get less MPG. The key is to always have enough power in the battery so that the ICE never has to run at a stop light or while going down hill, etc. When I have followed that formula, my mileage has improved. The other thing I have done to improve mileage is the use as much EV mode as possible in the last mile to mile and a half of my drive home. I like to arrive home with a low battery. I do this because the ICE must run anyway first thing in the morning while the engine warms up. As a result, you may as well use the battery at the end of your day because it will be charged when the ICE warms up in the morning. Just my 2 cents.
  11. If I was 21 and living on mom and dad's dime, it would be fun. At 40, I have to pass. Richard
  12. White waiting for my wife outside a store today, I was playing with the menus. I wanted to know about Max Air and Valet mode. Thanks. Richard
  13. How much was installation? And our Canadian member notwithstanding, how does it look? Is there a wire hanging out the grill or is it tucked away. I want a block heater but don't want it to look bad. Richard
  14. I have noticed a few paint chips in the Chrome grill. Is there a Ford touch up paint for this or some after market recommended? Thanks.
  15. I took the leap to buy the ESP (100K miles) plan because I generally drive a car 100K miles. I thought I was a good investment as an insurance policy on a car in its first model year. That being said, I think a maintenance plan is not insurance. As a insurance policy against a high cost repair, ESP makes sense. Maintenance should be pay as you good. You may end up trading in the car and wasting the money on it. The 2012 Fusion plug in with 80 MPG may call to you and all of the sudden you own it.
  16. Does anyone have an idea on whether this external model will work? http://www.amazon.com/Kats-1160-Magnum-Mag...1843&sr=1-3 Also (let the ribbing on me begin!), where is the oil pan and how hard will it be to stick this thing there every night? Thanks. This forum is great.
  17. That helps a lot. Thanks.
  18. I guess I am asking an appearance question. Do you just tuck the cord into the grill? would look odd I think.
  19. When it is installed, where does the plug come out and how is it hidden during driving? Do you open the hood each time to hook it up and off each time?
  20. Actually (not to stir anything up), the manual recommends: "Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US) Motorcraft SAE 5W-20 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada)2" Per page 298 of the manual.
  21. Thanks for explaining it all to me. Richard
  22. I have been researching the impending winter mileage decrease and have come upon the idea of a block heater. In fact, I noticed in Ford Fleet Sales Block Heaters are listed in the available options for our car. So, if anyone has an opinion or experience in this matter, please chime in. Also, I am not even sure I understand what it is or how it works. Also, is this a self installed item or a factory deal. Thanks.
