  1. See the following article: http://jalopnik.com/5512070/does-an-ipad-work-with-ford-sync I can confirm that the iPad connects over bluetooth to my FFH. I played some music which worked fine after some initial crackling, then I had the iPad read a book to me. Nice.
  2. Have you taken your car to the dealership?
  3. In Southern New Hampshire we've had one serious storm so far, and I have to admit I had been a little worried about the FFH's performance in winter. My house sits on the slope of hill that I have to climb for a couple miles and cross over before heading down for another mile. Right in front of our house is the steepest decline - in a curve - and every winter there's at least one accident, mostly kids, hitting the snow banks, or worse. The Ford (with snows) did well, I didn't feel unsafe for a second. It also helps, I assume, when you drive carefully. And: happy holidays to ya all.
  4. I got Hankook WS409 snow tires.
  5. I put on Hankook W409 snow tires this past weekend.
  6. I've taken home my FFH three weeks or 1500 miles ago. My avg is about the same as yours, maybe a little higher. Here's what I've learned so far. I grew up on the autobahn where the measure of efficiency used to be like how fast you managed to get from A to B with that car. After moving to the US a long time ago, I would still occasionally use my car as it was designed, make use of it's capabilities and enjoy them without regret. You can actually do some of that with the FFH, as I did, but you're bound to regret it, since at some point you'll have to realize the US has a speed limit. I never understood why Porsche and the like are selling any cars in the US, since you can't use them over here - use them as we used to use them. However, about a week ago, I made a choice to change my driving habits yet again, and the impact on my AVG was dramatic - I now try to use the EV on level terrain or down hill as much as I can - with minimal acceleration as long as I can without annoying my fellow citizens. Equilibrium, that's what you strive for. You do the best you can with what you have and that's good enough. What that really means is you don't use the car to it's full potential, you optimize it's use. Ford has manged to make that a whole lot of fun.
  7. That's green? Really. It does look quite nice.
  8. You guys are talking in-dash systems, right? Has anybody actually done that?
  9. I have also noticed that very minor adjustments to my style of driving have made a difference in terms of mileage.

  11. When I went to the dealership to pick up an FFH, I knew they didn't have one with a nav system, and I was fine with that. Now that I have actually seen it in action, I'm wondering if I can retrofit my FFHH? Not sure if it helps to know, but I have every option installed but the nav system. Btw: this my first Ford since that Sierra Turnier I drove in the early 90ties.
