Help me to understand ,Ford fusion hybrid 2013
2014FordFusionSE replied to Vladimir's topic in Site Feedback and Help
You should be able to replace the 12v battery by yourself. Check the owner's manual. It's like a 12v battery for any other car. -
I wash my own cars and after a lot of trial and error, I've found that using a damp chamois, cleans the windows the best. Completely streak free. After I'm done washing and drying the vehicle, I twist the chamois dry and use it to clean the inside windows.

2014 FFH SE HVAC Controls stopped beeping
2014FordFusionSE replied to kash80's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
I believe there's a way to reset/restart the system. It maybe worth a try. Maybe it's all frozen :) -
It would be helpful if the documents showed a picture of the case after it was opened. That way, you can see exactly where the clips are. I don't need to replace the batteries on my fob yet but I tried opening it. I thought I'd break something so I didn't try again.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ review after a week of driving. These replaced the OEM Energy Savers: Short story, the mileage went from 41 mpg to 37 mpg (10% drop) Tire pressure is 37.5 psi, filled by America's Tire on install. My OEMs were 35 psi all the time, rotated at 10k during service. Longer story: When they were first installed, the ICE kicked in all the time. I had reset the fuel economy gauge on install. The grip was really good, there was a lot of resistance and I almost felt like I was driving with low tire pressure. After I drove it a few times on the freeway, crossing 75mph, it seems that the tires 'smoothened' up a bit and the resistance on the road felt less. The first 2 days, I saw 35 mpg which freaked me out a bit, but then the mileage got better. This is my usual day-to-day commute and random weekend driving. The first day itself was dry and then it rained a lot at night so I got to test them in wet and dry weather. Everything about the tire is great so far, and I expected the gas mileage drop. The tires are also pretty quiet and the cushioning is good. I've seen reviews where they claim to 'drone' on the freeway, etc but I haven't experienced any of that. They definitely grip very well on turns. The OEM Energy Savers seemed to slide a bit on turns. I'll update my experience in a month or so. Looks like I'll be keeping them unless something changes within my 30-day 'exchange' period. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Back to the original topic :) Costco currently has a $70 rebate on Michelins + 1c installation which results in a $129 discount. Also, Discount Tire (or America's Tire) will match the deal. A win-win deal to replace your tires. I plan to get Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and try them out. (Disclaimer: I don't work for any tire shops :))

I'm going to get the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and will let you know what I think once I drive them around a bit. I only wish the name was shorter :) If I don't like them, I'll switch to the Defenders. Defenders have a longer tread life but I don't drive that much. The Energy Savers lasted about 40k miles. They would probably go 5k more but I don't want to wait until they are bald.

I had AAA for many years due to this concern but over the years, I realized that I used AAA for everyone's cars but my own :) Since then, I cancelled my AAA membership and consider myself to be AAA. If you maintain your cars well personally (including tire pressure, top-up fluids, etc), I think you'll be fine. If bad luck strikes, I don't think it will be car dependent. Cobra348, go with your gut is what I believe in too.

iPhone Maps app doesn't play through SYNC
2014FordFusionSE replied to dysert's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
I use Google Maps on the iPhone 6 and I noticed the same issue. Google Map's audio source is correctly set to SYNC but there's no sound. There must be some other setting somewhere. -
The Siri feature is useful. It would be nicer if there was an audible beep after you hold the button down for 3 seconds. Sometimes, it's guesswork between whether Sync will listen to you or Siri :) From experience with software, it's usually worth upgrading just for bug fixes. Software updates never list all the bug fixes and even if they introduce a couple, they usually fix many others. Just wait a month or two, and then if no major issues are reported, upgrade! I spent a little time researching Siri, and it's become a lot better in iOS 9.x Some useful commands for the lazy ones: "Send a text to XYZ" - Very useful, handsfree "Read text message" - for incoming messages. A bit more human than Sync "Reply to text message" "Send an email to XYZ" "Remind me to ABC at Xpm tomorrow"

Jump Starting Another Vehcile
2014FordFusionSE replied to Marcy Maretti's topic in Batteries & Charging
I have jump started another vehicle with the front terminals. The manual is a bit confusing. It has a sketch/picture of a long pen-like post for terminals but there aren't any (or at least I didn't see any.) Mine has a red dome-like cap over the positive terminal and the negative 'terminal' is basically the nut/bolt on the car body, a few inches towards the cabin. -
I use the one in the CD slot too. It needs to be tightened every now and then but works well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G1L52Q/ (used to be $17)

Annoying Buzzing Sound in Dashboard
2014FordFusionSE replied to mbarrows's topic in 2013-2016 Fusion Hybrid
I'm not hearing things then :) I hear the buzzing sound too but it sounds like it's coming from somewhere inside the center AC vent. -

2014FordFusionSE replied to Easy Rider's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
Sunnyvale Ford enabled them upon request at my first free service (oil change.) No questions asked and no charge. -
Glad to know that you're fine

:) That upload was from my iPhone. Not sure why it chose to upload it sideways. -

2014FordFusionSE replied to clummus's topic in Batteries & Charging
Yes, I've seen the battery gauge at full charge, to the very top. I recently used the Fusion to jump start another car and I stepped on the gas pedal to make sure the engine was running. A few minutes later, the battery charged all the way to the top. When I drove to work after that, approx 4.5 miles, my gas mileage was 93 mpg. On that same route, if I drive carefully, I'm able to get 70mpg. I have a blurry pic of the fully charged battery on my phone and will try to upload it. -
Got mine via Fedex 2 days ago. 2014 FFH bought in Feb 2014. Yippee.

Voice Commands Blocked by Rear View Camera

Yes, confirmed that my FFH is a strange car because it doesn't mute the radio when in reverse :) -

I don't think my Fusion's radio mutes either. I'll pay more attention next time but it would be an annoyance that I would notice right away. No sensors on my car. It definitely cancels everything else that you were trying to do.
