  1. Yep, seems normal. EV is not meant to provide "full power." It provides low speed operation and cruising at higher speeds - basically lower power demand situations.
  2. Welcome to the forum and congrats on the car! Is your car equipped with MyFord Touch?
  3. I stopped trying to be consistent at the pump. I just pump, record the results, and drive on. This car is so sensitive to variables, that it makes it very difficult to make precise correlations. Basically, for me, it's highly efficient in warmer weather and less so when cold. That, and other factors...
  4. I have no intention of doing away with the stock screen - just wondering if it would be possible to relocate it. Probably not practical... Not going the Lockpick route (that's how I first started thinking about this), and I'm not really interested in spending that kind of money. Right now, I'm just using an old tablet that I wasn't really otherwise using.
  5. Yes, it is a little too low, but my options are limited. Ideally, I'd like to swap the two screens. Some time I'm going to disassemble the center console column to see if there might be another feasible solution. Otherwise, it's working great. The screen comes on as soon as I turn the key and it connects to WiFi immediately after my phone connects to the Sync Bluetooth. It's very responsive to voice commands. The screen stays on in navigation mode and times out shortly after arriving at my destination.
  6. I never noticed any traffic info after my Sirius trial ended. What is the source of this info? Through what means does the system receive it? In any case, it's too expensive to keep the maps updated, and the updates that are available are likely outdated upon release. That's why I rely on Google Navigation.
  7. OK, then I'll take back saying never. I have experienced that phenomenon on such occasions. THAT'S what all this fuss is about? While seeming odd, coming from a "normal" car, I'm not alarmed by it. Can't imagine this would ever turn into a recall. Nor do I think this would ever result in anyone losing control of the car.
  8. I don't think my wife or I have ever experienced this in either car, or at least we've not been aware of it.
  9. I've been meaning to tell my crazy EV+ story, so this give me the opportunity... Since buying the car new about 2 years ago, EV+ has only ever appeared in the vicinity of my home. And, 90% of the time, I'm approaching while going downhil, so it will normally be in EV anyhow. Despite travelling to the same work location (A) at least 4 of 5 days per week, and an alternate location (B) the other day every week or two, I never saw EV+ come on anywhere but near home. So, at the beginning of September, I started a new job in a new location ©. After driving to C every work day for a month, I was called back to location A for two weeks. (Still no sign of EV+ anywhere but home.) Then, in mid-October, I go back to location C and EV+ comes on as I approach. I didn't just look twice - I probably looked 5 times! Yep, it comes on every day now, at each end of my home-work-home commute. Btw, it's nice that it comes on at work now, because my new parking spot is in a garage, and the ICE never runs in there.
  10. So, you got it straight now? If you have more questions, ask away! I only say this, because I remember you seeming to struggle with the same concept a couple of weeks ago. It seems you've jumped to the conclusion that MPGs only represent miles driven while the ICE is burning gas. In the end real MPGs are calculated by dividing TOTAL miles travelled by gallons of gas your car has consumed. My recommendation is to ignore the ratio of EV to total miles. I can give you examples where the MPG is high and the percentage of EV miles can be high or low. Bottom line is, the SYSTEM can be very efficient.
  11. The site also said that my '13 was current with 3.6.2. Since I have a '14 as well, I downloaded the update for that car and applied it to the '13. I was, however, able to upload the file back to the site and it now shows my '13 is up-to-date. Btw, I compared the zip file I downloaded, and the contents were identical in name and file size to those that were previously linked on this site. I haven't yet bothered to update the '14, because the update added virtually nothing of use to my '13.
  12. Tl;dr.... Seriously, your font is not eye-friendly on my phone! Easy solution to your fuel concern - drive another 80 miles before refueling! If you dare... ;)
  13. I may attempt a slight modification to the console to get the tablet in a more upright position.
  14. My Nexus 7 tablet fits pretty well, with some foam wedged behind to hold it firmly in place. Using Tasker app on my Android phone to automatically start a WiFi hotspot for the tablet when the phone connects to the car's BT. Google voice commands allow for easy control. Google navigation and traffic are 100x better and 100% cheaper.
  15. Trying to keep it in EV mode is not necessarily a good thing. The car is designed to go back and forth at fairly optimal intervals, so just let it do its thing for now. Besides, where do you think all that energy in the battery comes from? The answer is gasoline. Just drive gently, and you'll get great results. Pushing the accelerator and/or the brake too hard just makes any car less efficient.
  16. It should be a setting in your browser.
  17. Congrats on the new car! I purchased both of mine from Koons. Don't let the performance over one trip bug you. It will take some time to adjust to this car. That said, that particular route will not usually be good, economy-wise. You were probably doing 65+, no? Also, were you alone, or did you have the family members you mentioned with you? A full car will also compromise your MPGs significantly. Also, since we've entered the colder months, fuel economy will be at its lowest for a while. You may not see great numbers until it warms, but you can make up for that come spring. Some of us use Fuelly to track MPGs. It's just an electronic way to keep a manual log.
  18. So far, the responses here seem to be based on inaccurate assumptions about what the OP is asking. I'll take a stab at making a more correct assumption! I've searched around and found these threads: http://www.f150forum.com/f2/successfully-mirroring-android-onto-my-ford-touch-8-screen-273632/index2/ http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/1702-displaying-phones-display-on-8-inch-my-ford-touch-display/ So... it is doable, with some effort and investment. The major impediment seems to be the video lockout that comes into play when the vehicle is in motion. The only solution to that problem seems to be the aftermarket Lockpick: https://www.coastaletech.com/index.htm I'd love to do this, but I'm not willing to make the investment at this time...
  19. Nah, I actually consider that to be normal. If my F-150 only had 2 gallons left, I'd need to find a gas station in a hurry! What I'm talking about are random fluctuations that usually occur after I've burned about half a tank. At times, I've hopped in my car and driven 30-40 miles, and found that the gauge showed significantly MORE in the tank than when I started! This car is efficient, but it's not magic... http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9906-incorrect-fuel-gauge-reading
  20. I had to resurrect this thread, since I bought my 2013 brand new just 2 years ago. I have 52k on it and I still love this car. I'm achieving outstanding economy - 49.3 MPG per manual calc (Fuelly), although my dash lifetime just clicked up to 52.4, which will likely be this year's high water mark with winter approaching. Some of my thoughts, in random order: I still find the car comfortable, with a smooth ride. I rarely push it hard, but when I do, the gearless acceleration always amuses and surprises me. The original tires still look good. Not sure how many miles I'll get - 75k?? The fuel gauge is screwy, and I seem to be the only one reporting such a problem here. I very much dislike paying Sirius for what they offer. I basically listened to one station, so not worth it. Their traffic info left a lot to be desired, too. Navigation is OK, but again, I'm not paying for updates. My Android phone handles music and nav duty just fine, which brings me to... Sync with MyFord Touch is a complete and utter disappointment, not to mention a waste of my initial investment. Wish I had not included the option. I put a nice long scratch on the rear quarter panel about 1.5 years ago. Ouch. The front end is low and I've scraped it a few times. My bad. Live and learn. I still have a recall or two or three outstanding. I need to make that appointment. This car doesn't require much maintenance, which is nice. I've done the oil changes and tire rotations myself. Changed the cabin air filter, too. The efficiency, comfort, quietness, and smoothness have made this the best car I've ever purchased, despite a few quirks. Sync is useless to me. Fortunately, Bluetooth connectivity allows for me to cover the deficiencies with my phone. P.S. My wife's 2014, purchased a year later, is tracking about the same. She really likes it.
  21. The ratio of EV to total miles is not really an indicator of fuel efficiency. You need to give us more data to get better answers.
  22. Use your browser's print function, or copy the text into something else you know you can print from.
  23. It's not the voice activation systems that need further development, but rather the processors in our heads. Unfortunately, this development won't progress as rapidly as microprocessor development. We're not quite as upgradeable.
