  1. My fuel gauge has gone completely out of whack. I filled up 6 days ago, and over the course of three days (at least 200 miles), the fuel gauge remained pinned at the highest reading - just above F. I knew this was incorrect, as I've previously had an issue (off and on) where the reading would actually INCREASE as I drove. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/9906-incorrect-fuel-gauge-reading/As described in that thread, the dealer did flash some software, but the problem persisted intermittently (the worst kind of problem...). At times, it will stay "normal", but will freak out on occasion, and after a few days will return to normal. Anyhow, last Friday, I parked it at home with the gauge still above F. Monday, I started it up after not driving it over the weekend, and it showed about three quarters full. I think it should have been around half by this time, but no matter - as I drove to work, it began decreasing as I watched! After about 20 miles, it was on E - the low fuel warning popped up and the icon turned yellow, and a few minutes later - red! The miles to empty had dropped all the way to 0, and then just ---. And then later in the day, it's showing a nearly full tank. The fluctuations are very disconcerting (especially when the car warns me I'm running out of gas), but I've learned to deal with it. I haven't seen anyone else report such an issue, and I have no interest in visiting a dealer just to have a mechanic "guess" at what might be wrong. Maybe someone here has an idea, or maybe even a knowledgeable Ford technician might read this and chime in... At this point, I'm used to just tracking the miles driven and gallons used for each tank, and refueling when I'm around 500-600 miles or about 11 gallons used, give or take.
  2. I'm sure the Michelin rep knows all about these cars and why Ford recommended the psi set to whatever and how braking, handling, ride and WEAR are affected by deviating from that recommendation. Or maybe he just wants you to buy Michelins...
  3. Or, he can download the file posted earlier in the thread and do it himself. It has been done by several people here without fail. Of course, the update doesn't really have much (if any) utility, but it may be comforting to some just knowing it's up-to-date. ;) apilon50, I'd only bother with having your dealer do this if you're already there for another reason.
  4. That's exactly the problem - you're coming from experience. Increasing pressure, even to that level, may affect handling and responsiveness. You have no idea if the person reading this has that type of awareness of their vehicle's handling. Surprisingly, many people don't understand the effects, and may have no idea how to adjust or react. So, making such a recommendation seems a little reckless. That's all I meant. Please don't take it personally.
  5. I don't think it's proper to suggest such a radical increase in tire pressure to just anyone. That's not going to be an instant cure for him anyhow, and it could prove to be unsafe.
  6. I think the phrase, "Your mileage may vary," seems appropriate here.
  7. As you've seen here, if you've read through some threads, mileage varies per driver, conditions, climate, speed, etc... You can't just drive this car any way you please and get the best MPG. So, it might be your doing, or just the nature of your commute and where you live. Most likely, it's a combination of things.
  8. Yep. State of the art technology, circa 2006.
  9. Sound like marketing speak! Like trying to imply, but not making any promises. I wonder what the EPA estimates will be for MPG...
  10. It's always been my theory that ACC is nothing more than electronics. Nothing feels mechanical about it. Probably why it can't do a full stop. BTW, I think the collision warning system flashes and beeps when the computer calculates that regenerative braking alone might not be enough, and they've clearly calibrated this warning on the conservative side.
  11. I never realized that had been an option. However, I'm done being mesmerized by the MFT "technology" in my 2013, and I no longer use the built-in navigation. The updates have done extremely little to improve things. Sad to think some useful options might have been removed.

  13. Congrats on your success. Usually patience is a virtue, but waiting any longer in this case would have been foolish! Are you happy with all the new features available to you now?? ;)
  14. Best wishes to you, and THANKS for your contributions and dedicated work! I think the generally positive and helpful nature of this forum is a reflection of participants like you. You will be missed.
  15. Lol! Same comments every time a new version is released!
  16. First, welcome to the FFH forum! You know that Ford downgraded the estimated MPG on the early second gen FFHs from 47 to around 43, right? Give us some more details on the Energi. 38 MPG over what distance? Does that represent a single tank or multiple? Sounds like you're not really taking advantage of the Energi's battery. How long are your trips/commutes? More info will help people make a better assessment.
  17. I don't know about safety, but I've also had plenty of confused passengers. They've been conditioned that if the door doesn't open when the handle is pulled, it must mean the child locks are engaged, since so many other cars are like that. Having to pull the handle twice always feels odd.
  18. Did you install a stock replacement? I can't imagine that anyone's modified their suspension here, but I've seen crazier things.
  19. It says, "OR to the nearest authorized dealer," so, yes, it would be free. If you want it towed to a specific dealer, and there's another dealer closer, they'll cover the first 35 miles.
  20. I have some questions... Is there any indication of the actual temperature or temperature difference? What is the ambient temperature where your car is parked? What type/brand of thermal imager do you have?
  21. In the end, it matters very little what version Ford's website thinks you have.
  22. All of this is a waste of time, IMHO, since the updates contain very little of significance, and are bound to become even less frequent and probably, less significant; if the latter is even possible.
  23. Me thinks you're thinking of this: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8221-remote-startclimate-control-issue
