  1. Here's a pic-based overview... http://www.cnet.com/pictures/ford-sync-3-makes-its-debut-pictures/ I wonder if '13/'14 FFH drivers will be able to simply replace the headunit to get it.
  2. The A5 SD cards on eBay seem to be ~$100. The A4 cards are ~$60.
  3. This thread is funny. Why would Ford incur costs to change something that doesn't bring in more revenue? Now with that being said, i'd be impressed if someone here would figure out how _we_ could replace MFT with QNX. Still, is there anything to indicate that running QNX would be better than MFT?
  4. I just checked syncmyride.com and it says that I'm on the latest version - Gen2 - V3.6.2. Where else can I get this upgrade? EDIT: After doing some research, the v3.7 is an international version only. If you update in the US, you will lose Nav traffic and Navigation.
  5. Yep. Makes sense. I was surprised to hear the clicks be cut off by the warning sound.

If I drive to 0 DTE and put 13.3 gallons in, I can get ~580s when I get back to 0 DTE. Of course, this has been a rare occurrence (meaning one time). I'm happy with the mileage, so I don't feel a need to repeat.
  7. Got my check about a week ago via FedEx.
  8. It's been great driving it again. I'm not sure if a battery reset was performed because the EV+ areas weren't relearned. In any case, I'm just happy to have those warning sounds gone. Here's a couple of things that I learned when the AdvanceTrac was out: * The FFH software does a self-check every time the ICE turns on. I reasoned this as EVERY time ICE engaged, 4 warnings came on similar to the video. VERY frustrating, but safety first. * There is a speaker that is for car sounds that is independent of the stereo. This speaker is where the car warnings and turn signal blinking sound comes from. It's located somewhere around the dashboard. I reasoned this as the warning "dings" are localized to a different location than the stereo. In addition, the turn signals "click" sounds disappear when the warning "dings" are going off. I guess people are used to the turn signal click sounds from the 70s and 80s... It's almost been a year and I'm still learning things about this car.
  9. I had something more serious - but not unsafe - pop up over the last month. After driving 650+ on an uneventful roadtrip, I received a number of error messages: * Service AdvanceTrac * Collision warning not available Link to video on dropbox At other times I'd get the Hill Assist not available and Cruise Control not available warnings. Anyway, I took the car into the shop (Regan Ford in Haverhill, MA) and they replaced an AdvanceTrac controller and all is well. Actually, all is better as I had been averaging 39MPG prior and 42MPG afterward!
  10. I like both Sync and MFT. They're both showing age, but they're both better than NOT having them.

  12. My FFH is tinted and - for short periods of time - tinting makes a difference. Still, give it enough time and the heat will build up. I say that tinting is about 80% cosmetics and maybe 20% heat reduction. Would I do it again? Hell yeah, darker windows are sweet looking. Would I tint for heat reduction? No... carry a windshield blocker.
  13. In the Boston area, I'm seeing more FFHs than regular FFs. It's neat to see...
  14. I travel 60m for a commute and average 43mpg. I would expect your experience to be similar on the highways.
  15. A possible benefit - often ignored - is the ability to charge the Energi at work for free.
  16. 1. Seeing more cases doesn't justify its existence. It just validates that many manufacturers are making the same mistakes. Regardless, it's still my #1 peeve. 2. I'm not "cramming", I'm simply replacing fuel that is used. There's no reason why a 13.5g tank can't use 13g regularly (assuming near 0 DTE). The vapor recovery system won't even come close to being threatened. But you are right. This is a common complaint across all versions of Fusions.
  17. After reading 7+ pages and having had my car ('13 SE) for over six months, I feel like these are my pet peeves. Keep in mind that I'm not mad about them; they're just annoying... some more than others! This is my #1 pet peeve. This rattle - and it appears from both of the front doors. The FFH truly elevates the car experience by being silent during EV mode. When rattles, that golden silence is ruined... and I get peeved. My #2 pet peeve is filling the car with gasoline. We all know that the FFH holds 13.5 gallons. Let's say for academic discussion that you run to 0 DTE. When you refill the car, the nozzle will click/stop fueling at 10 gallons. What follows is constant game of "how much fuel can I get before the next click". Sometimes it's 0.1 gallons and other times it's .25 gallons. Regardless, it's an exercise in patience to get to 13 gallons... or even 11 gallons. My #3 complaint is that the Bluetooth Stereo input doesn't stay selected consistently. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. I just can't see the pattern. Regardless, this is a minor annoyance. Yeah, but the above are pretty minor to me... Again, the above is fairly minor... annoying... but minor. To summarize, I love the car... but there a definitely areas for improvement!
  18. I would like to say that I was too busy saving blind one-legged nuns, but... I can't. I got nothin'.
  19. Where is it supposed to sit??? I've yet to figure this out. It's not in the owner's manual and I can't find any pictures of it on the net...
  20. I voted genderless. If I had to pick, it'd be female... but since it's a hybrid, the correct choice should be transgender, right?
  21. Bought my '13 FFH in October of 2013. No problems that have caused me to take it back to the dealer. It now has ~11k miles, so... so far so good.
  22. It could be that the FFH has only the eco-mode.
  23. Just chiming in on the plexiglass grille cover, which I've been using for the last month or so. I have recently removed it "just to see" and yes - there is a significant difference. Without:* Takes about 7 minutes to get engine warm enough to generate heat* Average mileage is ~38 With:* Takes about 4 minutes to get engine warm enough to generate heat* Average milease is ~41 FWIW, I've been driving in 8-10* weather and the cover's impact is immediately noticeable. Heat comes (much) faster and EV mode is available much faster as well. I think that the product does exactly what it's intended to do. As always, YMMV. In this case, the only thing I don't recommend doing with a grille cover is to get a car wash! LOL!
