  1. I wonder if the A8 got close to 47 MPG during that drive...
  2. ... Another factor might be if you use the eco-cruise mode. When I don't use it, I tend not to achieve the 40+ MPG...
  3. I drive a 2013 FFH-SE and usually achieve between 41 and 44 MPG on trips longer than 20 miles... I'm just about to pass 3,000 miles.
  4. I'm going to do that! I forgot about that!
  5. Slight update. I purchased the factory spare tire and the 2003 Winstar jack via eBay. After checking them both out, they both will work well... but I can't flip the donut over and put the jack and the compressor into the middle of the tire! So now I have a slight bump in the floor of the trunk as the jack pops up a bit. You can't easily see it, but you can feel it. First world problems, I know.
  6. They do look kinda cool... But the trim that caught my eye was the chrome front fog bumper cover: Hmmmm...
  7. Congratulations! That's a LONG wait. I'm not sure that I'd have the patience for that. The great thing is that I'm sure that you're going to love the car. I love mine.
  8. I guess I just exposed my own insecurity as I've had my FFH less than a month. D'Oh! Carry on. Don't mind the new guy...
  9. +1 on the "enough power". The biggest selling point IMHO is the car will let the driver drive as fast as he/she wants, but prolonged ICE use affects gas mileage. Simple as that. I've often wondered if I like my 2013 SE more because it is loaded; I just can't imagine being without ACC or BLIS now. YMMV.
  10. It didn't work out so well for me this morning either. Take a look at my new bed!
  11. I don't mean to be pig-headed, but why bother test driving a HAH? I highly doubt that anything good can come from this... If you like the HAH, you'll get buyers-remorse. If you don't like the HAH, you'll sound like you're trying to justify buying the FFH (to those that like the HAH). The HAH is simply another current generation hybrid. While I'm sure it does a few things better and a few things worse (like splitting the screen), I bet driving the HAH feel pretty similar to the FFH. There really shouldn't be any new ground for FFH owners. Now if the HAH came with illuminated sill plates standard, that'd be something...
  12. Here's an undocumented "feature", the AC compressor can turn on and off while the HVAC mode is on Automatic. To disable this so that the AC isn't turned on automatically, choose a vent direction. This is on 2013s, I'm not sure about 2014s...
  13. I've now (over)filled my tank twice and have experienced better gas mileage... In short, colder weather was/is a bigger factor in the determination of gas mileage than the (additional) weight of the tank.
  14. I'm in the club after: * Running the car to near 0 DTE * (Over) Filling the car to 12.5 gallons measured at the pump * Running the car down to about 20m DTE I should have taken a picture, but I didn't. Now that the temperature is dropping rapidly in the Boston area, I probably won't get back into the 500m Club until April 2014...
  15. While I'm sure that more enlightened people will argue "Take it in to be repaired!", I wouldn't. Still, I'd keep an eye on the tire by measuring the air pressure. If it's not the same after 5 days, I'd repair the tire. Of course, YMMV...
  16. No impact at all. The rear-view mirror auto-dims just fine at night. AFAIK, it's driven by a sensor in the front window (i.e. activate when dark). There has been no downside... except now I want the tint darker than the law permits. It's just cool.
  17. I just looked at the reviews on Amazon; people aren't happy with this product. I'll try Invisible Glass...
  18. Pix! Lesson learned: Find a way to dry off the car prior to washing it... I'll try to get better pix of the tinting at a later time, but it's hard with the weather in the northeast!
  19. I'm leaning towards the Rain X Fog product. I'll let everyone know about it once I buy it...
  20. I did not have my front windshield done. As such, there wasn't any change in the rain sensors. I need to post my pix. My car looks "shop" (as they say here in Boston for "sharp").
  21. I'm on the latest MFT and haven't had a single issue. It just works.
  22. Just to be clear... there can be more than one EV+ location? My car only recognizes my home.
  23. Is there a significant impact to MPG/FE based on carrying the spare? IIRC, someone stated that there's ~28 pound difference when carrying the spare versus the tools that came with the car. Has anyone noticed a massive drop in FE?
