  1. No, it's for reckless people that that don't care about putting themselves or others in danger.
  2. Agreed. No way I would mess with a power cord in the garage to get 2 miles (at best) of driving on battery power.
  3. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.
  4. This is not correct and this nonsense is not helpful to the forum.
  5. Agree. I had a different take on the concern about low seat from B25Nut's wife. Rather than it being uncomfortable once seated in the car the concern may be about the difficulty of getting in/out of the FFH's low seat which is a common complaint about sedans. This becomes more of an issue as we age. This is also one of many reasons SUVs are popular - they are easy to get in and out of.
  6. The owner's manual (for my 2015 FFH) says the FFH fuel tank capacity is 13.5 gallons and the FFE is 14 gallons.
  7. The good folks here on this forum, like you, are motivated to purchase high mileage vehicles. Many of us then drive them in a manner (sometimes in an OCD manner) to obtain the best possible MPG often at the expense of creature comforts and other motorists on the road. The overwhelming majority of U.S. car buyers are not at all interested in maximizing MPG the way many members on this forum are. SUV buyers want a vehicle that is flexible, roomy, tows/hauls well and is reasonably efficient. Many SUVs and crossovers do a very good job of meeting those requirements. Here is a good example of this: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/12530-2013-ford-fusion-hybrid-reliability/?p=108519 I like Ford. I want Ford to survive. I want Ford to be profitable. To do that Ford must build profitable vehicles that appeal to the masses.
  8. Some of my neighbors have an SUV and a truck, some have two SUVs and some have sedans mixed in. Take a close look at the parking lots as I mentioned and the trend is obvious. SUV and truck sales far exceed sedan sales. People like SUVs because of their utility. If I was limited to only one vehicle it would likely be an SUV because they are far more versatile than a sedan. Much better in the snow, hauls bulky items better, tows trailers better, and far easier entry/exit. The newest cross overs ride nicely and the MPG is improving. I like sedans, but I get why people love SUVs and are buying them. Ford is doing the right thing for Ford and that is exactly what they should be doing if they want to remain in business.
  9. Its simple economics. Sedan sales are poor compared to trucks and SUVs. It is not what "Ford thinks" but rather what U.S. motorists are purchasing. It would be foolish for Ford to invest limited development dollars in products that sell poorly when they can invest in products that will have a far better return on that investment. Take a look at your neighbor's driveways/garages, the parking lots at your local malls, Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home depot and apartment complexes. While many of us may not be happy with this trend there is no mystery why Ford is making these investment decisions. There are many legitimate reasons why people love SUVs.
  10. My apologies. I assumed we were talking about a gen 2 FFH. My mistake.
  11. I replaced the original Michelin Energy Savers with Michelin Energy Savers. I am happy with them. I shopped around and found the best price and then took that to my Ford Quick Lane and as they claim in their advertisements they beat the price. They rotate the tires for free when I go for my Quick Lane oil change. Makes it convenient and easy.
  12. If Roadside Assistance is the only service you are after, then your State Farm insurance sounds like a good option. But AAA provides benefits beyond roadside assistance that AAA members find very useful. The numerous AAA travel discounts can easily pay for your annual membership fee.
  13. I disagree with an expressway tank range of over 600 miles. Under ideal conditions and draining the gas tank down to fumes you might go over 600 miles on a tank but most drivers would be uncomfortable doing that. By your own numbers (39 MPG at 70 MPH) would require 15.4 gallons to go 600 miles. To go over 600 miles as you stated will require more than 15.4 gallons. The FFH owner's manual states that the fuel tank capacity is 13.5 gallons but there has been a lot of discussion and debate about that on this forum.
  14. But it does provide the power to move the car in reverse. If you went on a 10 mile drive and drove only in reverse the ICE will run to keep the high voltage battery charged during that ten mile drive. This is speculation on my part and someone will correct me if this is not correct.
  15. Wow, that post was a long time ago. Had to go back several pages to find the context of the discussion. You must have been bored or else lots of free time!
  16. Not what you told us here http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/10006-highway-driving-great-mpg/?p=95870 or here http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/10006-highway-driving-great-mpg/?p=95917
  17. You are all wasting your breath. These rebuttals to PT's ill-advised and often dangerous nonsense have been made many times in the past. He is going to believe what he wants to believe and there ain't nothing that is ever going to change that.
  18. I was not aware of that, interesting. Does it still have the ECO mode setting for the cruise control that my 2015 has?
  19. I may have this wrong, but I think ECO mode only affects the behavior of the cruise control. With ECO mode off the FFH will be more aggressive in maintaining the speed set for the cruise control. With ECO mode on the FFH will be less aggressive in maintaining the selected speed.
  20. It may be well sorted out and great technology but only when it works. This forum is full of posts where various sensors have failed or give false warnings in a random and unpredictable manner. Making it worse, the techs at dealerships are often at a loss when it comes to reproducing, diagnosing and servicing these problems. Typical body repair shops are even less equipped to deal with the myriad of high tech sensors and getting them all working again after major body repairs.
  21. Stay calm. The sky is not falling and the world is not ending. Slow deep breaths and keep reminding yourself that you don't own one.
  22. Murphy, I noticed from that product description that it states: Is that incorrect?
  23. Many of the issues you described is why I ordered a FFH S. Far fewer things to go wrong. So far, at 50,000 miles, it is the most trouble free car I have ever owned. I hope that does not change.
  24. Iowa corn farmers. They have a very powerful influence on congress.
  25. I believe Murphy installed an AGM in his FFE but he had to cut/modify the battery tray to fit it in. I have searched and have not found an AGM that fits the FFH.
