That decided to happen to me when I got in it a little while ago Cruise control, wipers, blinkers, headlights, all steering wheel controls, etc etc etc are all not working.
-
This didnt solve the issue. If anyone else has had it done and also notice it randomly resetting post too. I have a MKZ so it may be a little different.
-
Turn mykey off completely. Its a bug in the system if its enabled but not turned on on any keys it will act up. Hopefully the upcoming update has some more good fixes and maybe running blackberry which ive talked to a sync rep and they have heard a few people say it is coming to the hybrids. (just no eta) so maybe it will come across the board to everything

Flex is like the coffin car on the Munsters... MKT is like a probe hurst lol.. Its ugly.. Not saying neither drives better and I'd take the Lincoln over the Ford in almost all cases except thus one.
-
I love the flex. But I just couldnt drive the hurst around. The local dealership here most of the ones they sell are for that reason. I did see one for the really old handicap people as a limo at a casino tho. Maybe thats to prepare them for whats to come :P When they redesign it (if they do) I very well could consider that one in a couple years. But I suspect ill be going MKS still.
-
Anybody ever had to get one fixed? It looks like a smashed love bug at like 70mph but looking closer the paint its about 1cm long and its all the way thru the paint. (starting to rust) Untill today I thought it was a lovebug but looking closer whatever caught it left a light scratch on the top bar of the grill also (grill with a little rubbing you can barely see it unless you look for it). So any ideas would be great, it looks bad :\

High Ambient (Desert) Temps Kills HVB Performance (MPGs)
Eddie Sessum replied to Hybrider's topic in Fuel Mileage
I know someone with one, it still clicks on and off. On his you can hear the freon coming into the car when it first clicks back on if you have no other noise. Same as you can on our hybrids when you first turn the car in. -
High Ambient (Desert) Temps Kills HVB Performance (MPGs)

It makes the consumption lower but in the long run it comes out to the same. Staying at 3kw for 20min or 5kw for 10min and working it's way down. I'd prefer to cool off as quick as possible. Acdii, if you typed that out on your own great job. I'm 90% sure our cars have am expansion valve Btw. -
Performance exhaust on a cvt... Makes the car sound like grandma trying to drive the grandsons Honda 5speed... Clutch riding all the way lol.. We got a prius down here straight piped.. It sounds horrible.

You will notice that the maximum power consumption is software limited based on outside temp. You may be seeing part of that. Have you seen the little + sign pop-up next to the 5 yet? I saw it for the first time today as my car was in the sun and until I drove for a few min the outside temp above above 100. I believe this was part of the fuel economy program that changed the ac up. Basing off outside Temps. -
Efficiency on longer highway trips...

This is something I have been saying about going into EV on the highway gives worse milage. They should have put a option in the menus for us with a couple of options for max speed EV. -

I know im a bit late here, but my MKZ gets better MPG at 75 vs 65. -
Cooled seats pull air from the rear ac ducts. So other than running the small fan which might be 10-15watts I wouldnt see a reason it would effect MPG. Heated seats on our cars are the newer style which is a small little heating element, its why the heated seat fan goes on and off. It heats the elements and once they cool off the fan turns off to heat the elements again. Think of it as an extremely tiny portable bathroom heater. The older style heating pads like the MKT and non perferated seats use do the job well but use more power and depending on the car they can cause minor skin burns, which i believe is why many company have been getting away from them. Scott, part of what your seeing on the MPG hit honda vs fusion could be how the fusion can pull alot more energy from brake regen vs the honda. Even compared to the 12 ffh ive read ford made large improvements in this part, only comparable to toyota.

The electric compressors are different. The regular cars with belt driven compressors control that by mixing warm air. Any person with normal hearing can stand next to a new ford and hear the compressor cycling when it hits a certain pressure. Basicly what we have is similar to a dual stage home air conditioner, which when its not needed because the car cools off enough it slows the speed down. At night i can put my temp on low and turn the fan to full speed max ac and it wont go above 2 lines on power consumption. Because the pressures dont require it. In your theory a 80* car inside on low temp and fan all the way up it should run full speed. hybrid even said that this isnt the case. Go look at the ac power pull on your car, i guess its lying right? -
Random drivers side suspension pop/thump.

Don't know if this is mkz related or if the fusion does it too. I've heard the axle shim issue and I know it isn't that. My mkz will occasionally do it when I first take off (forward or reverse) after parked for at least 15min, but jot all the time. It's audible and you can feel it in the floor on your feet. I haven't been able to get it to repeat this at the dealer as they are a good distance away. Our new mkz that has 12k miles, does it Alot. Same way but even louder. Back seat passengers can hear it even. Has anybody dealt with this and could give me ideas to toss to my dealer when I get there on what to check? Or maybe there is a tsb on this not listed here, I know there's hundreds of them for the mkz hybrid but don't know how to look them up. -

http://www.csgnetwork.com/r134apresstempconv.html Pressures shown can be used on high or low side. It tells you what the temp of the freon is at those temps. High side is outside and thats where the airflow cools it to lower the pressure (pressure change from high to low makes it get ice cold) -

Evaporator temperature is based on the pressures also. There is a charge that will tell you what pressures cause what temperatures at the evaporator and condensor for 134a. Look it up. -
I actually like the VAT idea if they get rid of our income tax. Pay tax on what we spend only and make everyone pay it no matter what unless its an item for resale. Less paperwork and problems for businesses, no more IRS audits or employees to pay, lower rate than what we pay now because everyone is paying and not just the honest people. That is if its a reasonable rate.

There is still a reconditioning on the newer batterys. They dont work the same way with the full discharge/charge. It verifys the cells its using and if any of them come back weak it marks them out and uses others. There was some info I read a while back that our cars only use around 15-20% of the battery. Its something like 80% at full charge 65% at full discharge (on the gauge on the dash). This allows alot of room for cells to fail over time and the whole battery not to fail. Maybe someone has this info saved somewhere and can post it.
