At night I leave mine off for the most part and it always gives me 40+ (90% of the time) But during the day sometimes I see 17,19,23 etc etc. Really low numbers that in the evenings those numbers cant bring back the super low during the day. At night I do windows down so I know the ac compressor is completely off.

I found I can keep a steady 37mpg+ always on the trip mpg if I leave the ac fan all the way down. Do alot of you leave yours turned up high like ive seen some posts say? I see 75*f alot.

Why does our elec motor pull so much power?
Eddie Sessum replied to Eddie Sessum's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
FFH is 1.4 the tesla p85 stands for the battery. It's a 85 battery. -
Correct, there putting us into a high load EV mode more often and than when the ICE has to charge its using up more than if it would have just stayed at a full SOC and kept the ICE running to main speed. Makes me wonder if this motor and transmission combo could actually be put into a standard fusion and get a better highway MPG than the 1.6 ecoboost. Im sure cost is cheaper to make it than that engine.

I think my 06 mustang did that without the key. Also my denali truck before i put in aftermarket nav. It was just a standard 6disc in dash before.

Myford Different screen on entertainment screen
Eddie Sessum replied to Da0ne's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Its also funny it says temporarily lost connection. If anybody has a nav system and it does come up with this. I think theres a bigger problem not just a o gee maybe i lost signal like when i loose data on my cell phone. -
I feel like im getting screwed out of MPG because its not mountains here. Ford designed the car to be opposite of what every other car is. Mountains = bad MPG for everything but there hybrids. No clue what the c-max does tho, block wind like an astro van? lol.

Did a comparison here the other day with my MKZ vs a Tesla S. Basicly at completely cooled off , ac off, etc etc. I go floored on ev (gas engine running but doing its warmup thing) and the tesla s is keeping up right there with me by the other driver adjusting throttle. I went thru a full charge which is the 1.4amp hours or however its worded.. The night before i held the foot down to let it charge up untill it stopped charging, may have been slightly under but the car still showed full. In the same run the tesla used 0.3 of the same amp hours. What gives? And for those asking, its a badass car. You can almost feel the front wheels pull off the ground when you stomp it.

In ev+ I can floor my car when it's warming up and it will run ev at full power and barely give any ICE assist. I do understand how it keeps it idling but killing my charge than when I leave in the morning refuse to charge for about 1/2 mile and drain the battery to nothing almost. If it's almost dead when I start it will give me gas assist I guess because it doesn't want to completely kill the battery

Auto engine off setting.
Eddie Sessum replied to Eddie Sessum's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Yea, I'm still refering to flat land. And climate power usage since the update in same conditions is down for me. Don't know if you noticed that or not. I guess it's because it can turn off the fan on he highway and use the normal airflow from the highway to cool. -
Starting at a full charge makes the numbers high for sure. Do you do the same trip on a regular basis? If you do maybe just save a couple of mpg numbers from the same trip for us starting at whatever the car begins at. Let's see what it does at that point.

Auto engine off setting.

Are you agreeing with what I was saying about hwy milage and full ev? Kinda sounds like u wish you wouldn't have updated. -

Eddie Sessum replied to Eddie Sessum's topic in Lounge - Fusion Hybrid Talk
Well apparently the engineers decided to raise the top ev speed when it was at 62 for a reason. Above that the ev mode cycling uses more fuel than just running the ICE alone. Go find a flat piece of highway and test it for yourself since u think they know better.. Do a little bit at 65mph than the same trip at 70mph.. 70mph will get the same if not better. I'm not the only one seeing this as even people on the energi forum see this once there main charge is depleted on the hwy. -

There's many advantages to the update. The raising of the top speed of ev is the only real flaw in it. If they would have given us a option to just select a top speed upto the limit for full ev all would be solved. The updated grill shutters, quicker warmup (I'm sure this will be major when it gets cold), and all the ac control. Before the update tho I could get 43.5 at 65mph with cruise on. Now I get about 4 less but can get 40.5ish at 70 -

Im looking for a way to keep the pos from going into ev mode at 65mph for the most part. If I fight with it to keep the ICE on and keep the charge up for 10 miles i can usually get around 3mpg more than it going on and off. Tested this on the same exact route within 30min of previous test. Keeping the ICE on the first run so id guess climate was using less for the ev mode time. Maybe hybridbear has something on this because I saw a topic on another forum he was talking about the poor fuel economy at slowers speeds going off and on vs staying on at a higher speed. -

And I'm not saying I want ev mode gone. Just would like to kill it off on the hwy. -
What does this do? I turn it off and engine keeps turning off, turn the car off and on thinking it takes a reboot to make it stick and it turns itself back on.

I don't mind the regular buttons I just found weird they had both and the touch wasn't on the higher end models. -
Chevy Cruze 2.0TD vs VW Jetta TDI range comparison
Eddie Sessum replied to Aquineas's topic in Competing Products
Cooled seats are bottom only. A disappointment for me. So take that into consideration. A 14 fusion optioned out completely was closer to 39k as I looked at one before I took my mkz. The titanium seats suck, ask opinions on here. Another reason I went with my mkz. -
Chevy Cruze 2.0TD vs VW Jetta TDI range comparison
Eddie Sessum replied to Aquineas's topic in Competing Products
If ur buying now.. Get the fusion.. Or maybe check for a base mkzh.. Same price range and the Lincoln includes service and better bumper to bumper too... If you can wait a year wait for the full redesign of the passat.. The infotainment system in the current sucks. The redesign u speak of is exterior redesign -

Drive them both.. The passat seems very dated.. If interior wise was closer to the Mkz or fusion I'd have it
