  1. For the luxury segment it is compact. I dont think we have anything smaller in any of the luxury brands do we? 4doors required.
  2. Depending on your state, being legal is a waste of money on tint. Ive always had 20% and cops never have cared. They can see me so thats all they worry about. Now limo tint, thats asking for trouble (and hitting grocery baskets hidding on the side of you at night)
  3. I heard the accord hybrid thats coming out with the genset setup can burn the tires taking off with TC off and a full charge so power wouldnt be an issue with that form of setup. Tesla S with a genset would be great. Even if it didnt give enough charge for performance driving and just made it an extended range on the highway, if it did id spend 70g on it.
  4. Mine randomly turns on. It needs to stop bugging me tho its a pain.
  5. I will say toyota has more of those noises than ive heard of with fusion and mkz. VW is great for build quality on those things. But it just looks old and dated. Even my friend audi S7 looks old inside.
  6. The tesla can stop with ABS our little electric motor can only give us so much "drag" as I call it where it loads up like a huge alternator to charge the battery. the eCVT may also come into play on this one if it can only handle forcing so much back into the elec engine (i dont know how much it can handle going in the other direction)
  7. I think a turbo on the car would be more damage to the CVT than the engine. Engine is cheap, replacement is $1700 full retail. CVT... $5000... So yea, im not touching it.
  8. The new plant is still just mainly doing "S" models. All the rest are coming from mexico still. I guess having such a basic model locally though and alot of people will buy them (as I see locally they sell 3x quicker than the SE) any sale is a good sale at this point. Hopefully such good sales lets them want to keep development on the up and up and we get some major breakthrus. I would trade my MKZ in on another in 2-3 years if they did a big enough change.
  9. I dont even think the diesel should power down. A very small diesel idling without load uses VERY little power and you want a diesel engine to be up to temp if at all possible. I know from my past truck which is the new 6.7 powerstroke that if the motor isnt warmed up completely fuel economy does go down. Genset was the proper word I was trying to come up with.
  10. Compact luxury class. Which is mid-size (standard by car rental terms).
  11. I dont like seeing this post. I saw a little peel of paint at my bumper and quarter panel when i first got it. Hoping maybe it was from behind and just got pushed there when installed.
  12. Also just noticed that the fusion itself went from 12-14 to 14-16 weeks in non hybrid form. Maybe with them doubling the MKZ production this also effected it as MKZ's get bumped ahead of the fusions
  13. I said most not all.. And with a direct drive system the cvt wouldn't be required. So that is also money savings because as far as I know the cvt in our cars costs even more than the battery to produce.
  14. It was 12-14 a few weeks ago but has since gone up. My local dealerships have a ton on order (awaiting alocation) just for stock as they can't keep the lower end ones in Stock. I'm sure that's what's happening all over. Also I saw a thing last night that budget/avis finished there test of the 13 model in there fleet and are getting a very large portion of there standard cars in that size as the fusion hybrid. I guess they pay the same as can bump the price up slightly. Also saying it gets such great milage compared to the kid optima (17mpg observed) would make people pick them over other company's. If they ordered even 10k nationwide which I'm sure it's more. That would drive the wait time up there a lot
  15. Some of those products work pretty damn good.. My Saturn sky had one from the dealer, don't know which. But it beaded great at 20months when I traded it in.
  16. Here is another comment for when we might see a diesel hybrid. If ford went to a large elec motor and a separate generator setup like the new accord hybrid. Than at that point the diesel could be kept at the lower rpm running all the time to charge and power the electric drive motors. I could see that being a beneficial point. Also in a few years the savings from battery advances could offset most of the extra cost making the car cost about the same as currently.
  17. If it was a solid number way up there once it came out. If I wouldnt have already bought my mkz I would have considered it. But it would have to be atleast 10mpg more to deal with the looks lol. We can just hope that ford follows honda on the idea for the next gen.
  18. Yea I really need an ignition on power source up top. If they end up having to replace my headliner tho I may ask of much to run power from the bottom around the top.
  19. I agree on the sunset color. It is alot brighter under good lighting.

At the beginning of my purchase i kinda thought maybe I should have went the lexus ES route but ive seen some in person and glad i stuck with the lincoln (ford). Energi would have been nice tho :)
  21. Forgot to post yesterday but the owner of the lincoln dealership said he will take care of it and fight ford himself if need be to make it get fixed. Ive noticed 2 other spots of the same developing in other spots. My detailing guy says he thinks it may be some chemical that was on the installers hands and its just showing up with time. Whatever it is as long as my dealer can get it straight im fine with it. I caused a couple spots on my a-pillars that are slightly dirty but thats on me.. This headliner crap from day one ford needs to make right lol
  22. If they did a diesel it wouldnt be a start-stop. A diesel idling with almost no load uses about 20% of the fuel of our engine. There are reasons why diesel has never really had start stop technology. Even than, a very fuel efficent diesel as the ICE that is always on along with regen braking and the elec motors it could prob get 50-55mpg (rated) in the city. More depending on where you live. On the highway a diesel is so efficent id say let it charge the batterys than goto full diesel on the hwy. With the proper setup and CVT (never seen a cvt diesel, someone note what you have seen if you have heard of one). Id say it should easily get 45mpg at 70. Since the diesel will find it alot easier to push against wind resistance. If it comes tho, expect it on the next gen. Atleast 2016, maybe 2017. not sooner.
  23. ACC is nice, but if someone comes over merging in front of you too close it hits the brakes and keeps on them for about 3 seconds while they accelerate away. Thats my only gripe about it.
  24. There are many higher he hybrids. Just not from ford. Ford is really the only one who is making enough hp and still getting very good mpg compared to the others that look good. They are in a segment of good looking very high milage that others aren't in at this time as none of the Toyota other than the Avalon look good. And it's more expensive by far.
  25. The BMW is more against the Mkz v6.. As for the Def.. "ad blue" is a brand. I have it on my last truck. They require the vehicle when empty to not go above 1000rpm which basically makes it a snail to get you to where you need to to buy the fluid. And it's not required by the epa. There are alternatives but cost more to implement. The Dodge diesel trucks are an example of this without Def.
