  1. Oh, I would go, but I know that would be the kiss of death for me and my bank account. I am not that strong. I have to sell this other car outright to make it work even a little. I did already get an email from a dealer, though. Wonder what part of "firm" they did not understand?
  2. Oh, what the heck. I listed it on Craigslist with a firm price. I doubt I'll sell it, but I figured if I don't try I'll always wonder.
  3. The dealer just called to tell me that the HyTi I ordered came in, and to let me know that he was going to put it into retail inventory unless I still wanted it. It broke my heart, but I told him yes, go ahead. As much as I'm sure I would love that car, I can't take the hit on a trade in and the only way I could do it would be to sell the one I have outright to someone who really wants a hybrid and doesn't mind one with just a little wear on it. So-- unless anyone here is in Sacramento and wants to make an offer on this beautiful Bordeaux SE that I have--I think I'll be moving on. I really would love to go and drive it but, man, I know I'd be awfully tempted if I did.
  4. I'm certainly not posting as much as I used to, but I still come here every day and read a few posts, check in on my new buddies, etc. Work life has gotten busy recently, so that has cut down a bit on my ability to scour the internet at work. Probably not a bad thing ;)
  5. So glad to hear you are enjoying your Energi! I'm pretty sure the FFH Energi will be my next car purchase. Will be very eagerly awaiting the reports on it :)
  6. Ford was always cagey in how they advertised the Titanium models. Most of the brochures showed the gas Titanium and not much I saw specified exactly what was going to be on the hybrid version early on. I 86'd my order when I found out the dual exhaust wasn't part of the package.
  7. So, my take on this is that the idea of "Low Rolling Resistance" is nothing more than advertising hype from car companies.
  8. Yes, I did a similar thing. Read every review that came out to make sure the decision was something I could be comfortable with. I don't regret the purchase though, in retrospect, the energi might have been my better bet. But I will have this one paid off in a few years and can then think about what I might want to do next :)
  9. I had a Prius, not sure how to categorize that in your first question so put "other." I did not consider a gas only vehicle and wouldn't again unless I could get one like my '84 Honda Civic that got 45 MPG. They don't make 'em like they used to. My next car will most likely be a plug-in hybrid and I imagine the prices on those will be coming down by the time I'm ready to buy. Didn't look at anything but the FFH with any seriousness-- priced out a few others online but nothing came close to the FFH in terms of value.
  10. The one i ordered is currently in transit and should be arriving this week, if it has not already landed. I obviously am not in the market anymore, but hopefully others will be getting theirs this week as well.
  11. You have to understand that we got married in our 50's and we're both used to handling our own finances. Add to that the fact that our salaries are almost exactly the same, so we pretty much just do our own thing with our own money. He has investments, so do I, hopefully we will both have retirement plans that will come to fruition, so we're fairly independent from one another, financially.
  12. I have unlimited data but for iCloud backups you have to pay for extra cloud storage over a certain amount. I already stopped backing up my photos because of that, and the music I'm sure would be no different.
  13. If I had all my music on my iPhone and could use it as an iPod that would be the way to go. But I don't keep a lot of data on the phone because it costs too much to back it up to the cloud. I could backup everything but the music, but then if something happens to my phone I have to start all over with loading in all the music, anyway. Much rather just use streaming, and I pay $10.00 a month for Spotify, anyway. From what I read last night, these problems all started with 3.5.1 and weren't present in earlier versions. I hope that means they can fix it with the next upgrade.
  14. I have been having problems with MFT and streaming using bluetooth-- the songs will begin to advance on their own and I don't get to listen to more than ten seconds of a song before the next one will play. This started out as an intermittent problem but has become chronic to the point at which my audio system is unusable. I don't keep music on my phone, so streaming is the only way for me to enjoy the music I really like. Yesterday my husband and I took a 45 mile drive to visit friends and this completely ruined the enjoyment of the trip for both of us. I went online last night and found out that I am by far not the only one, and the issue is with MFT 3.5.1 and the inability of the software to properly sync with the song times. People are having this problem with all kinds of devices; it is not specific to the iPhone. There's no fix for it, but somehow (through a lot of trial and error) I was able to reset the whole bluetooth system (removed my phone, disabled bluetooth, re-enabled it, did a bunch of other things that may or may not have made a difference) and for the moment it is working properly. However, this is a huge problem that Ford is apparently not addressing, at least not publicly. I'm hoping that whatever they come out with to replace 3.5.1 will fix this problem, but there does not seem to be a fix for it. I prefer not to put music on a USB drive for a few reasons-- my music library on iTunes and my husbands are all mixed together, they are vast, and right now the only way to get to them is through the cloud since our main computer that had them on the hard drive no longer is functioning and would prefer to just stream music from Spotify and Pandora. Prepping something on a flash drive seems pretty 20th century to me. I might as well just use the CD player. So, though I will not be the first, I am planning to send a note to Ford Customer Service and beg them to fix this problem ASAP. One of the reasons I wanted to get rid of my Prius was because I had no way to plug in my iPhone and listen to my own music-- not even an analog input on that car. One of the things I looked forward to most of all in this car was hearing the music I wanted to hear. Major disappointment. I got irritated reading the Consumer Reports reviews of this car because they keep harping on the "confusing" MFT interface, like they're a bunch of old men who probably can't program their VCRs, either. I don't find the interface at all confusing, but it is definitely glitchy and if they can't get this right it will make a difference in my willingness to ever purchase another Ford.
  15. Parked right next to an Oxford white hybrid today at dinner time. Took a quick look inside; the owner had the charcoal luxury interior. I like my Dune. It's a nice looking car in any color, though. I see a Tesla every now and then when I go to this one shopping center that's in a swanky part of town. That is a very sharp looking car!
  16. I kid you not, just yesterday I was thinking about how cool it would look if someone did this!
  17. Well, they can, to a point. One of the things that is so attractive about this car is that it offers a lot of luxury, technology and styling for the money. At the end of the day, it's still a Ford, and if you start pricing it too closely to its more high-end competition, some customers will make different choices. Ford has to be careful not to price themselves out of this nice little market niche they've created for themselves with this car.
  18. I use USB and Spotify and it likes to advance the songs before they are finished playing. Seems like it settles in after I've been driving a few minutes and works okay. I will arbitrarily blame the ICE.
  19. Wait... I missed something. Ruby Red paint is in short supply?
  20. Seems to have plenty of power for me when I really need it. I don't rev it up too often because it compromises mileage, but you won't be disappointed if you find yourself in a situation where you need to accelerate quickly.
  21. Nah, I think it's traumatic stress from his first marriage ;)
  22. Okay, okay, you all are right. I do love the car I have, and undoubtedly won't do any better with the newer one. The best course would be to keep this one and if I get the bug again after a few more years to trade it in for an Energi. See, this is why I NEED you guys :) My husband just said, "okay, if that's what you want."
  23. Odd how the Energi seemed so far away when I first started thinking about this car.
  24. The chrome handle accents and the cooler taillights combined with the better stereo almost seem worth it to me. Plus, I'd get the color I finally decided I really wanted. Notice I said "almost."
