  1. Saw a gray one on Thursday in the same general area as the one that jumped in front of me. Gave him a scowling look, but he was too far away to notice. I guess I already have a Fusion-enemy. Or is it a Fusenemy?
  2. Agree with the silver and gray. It's not to my taste, anyway, though I know others here love theirs in those colors. But they do seem understated a bit, to me.
  3. In the early days with this car I was getting much lower averages than I get now. It takes a while for the overall average to rise. Today I took a short trip to the veterinarian and while I did not check when I got there, the return trip was 48mpg and that was with no thought to how I was driving (had a dog on my lap). 62 degrees out. This seriously would not have happened in this car during the first two weeks I had it. I'm very pleased with the direction things are headed.
  4. I almost collided with a gray one that jumped out in front of me while I was on my way home from work yesterday (that was after I had posted about the silver one). So, yes, they are starting to show up more and more.
  5. Yay! Finally starting to arrive, then. I hope everyone who has been waiting will get theirs soon.
  6. If anyone has seen more than that one, it would be good to know. I'm guessing that one was a special build to be driven by the press for review which then landed at that dealership somehow. Or else someone stuck a hybrid badge on a regular Titanium and took a few fun pics. But I wouldn't know much about the hybrid TI, I only ordered mine in November and waited until mid February when I decided I couldn't afford to wait anymore. So I followed this issue obsessively for a while, but now am not really following it except out of casual interest.
  7. There were a whole bunch of cars that fell into some sort of black hole with Ford early on in the production run, so you'll see some people here complaining that their cars took forever, and that would be true for them. Hybrid Titaniums are not in production yet or else have just recently started, so people have been waiting a long time for those, as well (I was one until I changed my mind and bought a stock SE). If you're ordering a plain old SE hybrid now, though, you should have a six-10 week wait, as long as there are no parts issues.
  8. I will figure it out, I'll need to, although with my allergies I find it expedient to just wear a face mask when things are really bad outside (though it looks really dorky, I know). It would be nice if there were a HEPA quality filter for it but that would be asking for a lot, I suppose.
  9. Wow. That's a lot of Fusions! I parked across the street from one today when I went out for lunch. It was a silver hybrid. Whoever owned it had pasted Aston Martin wings over the Ford badge in the front and was sporting a not-so-legal Aston Martin tag on the front where the front license plate is supposed to be! The back had CA tags so I know it wasn't an out of state person.
  10. 12/19/2013 and I'm pretty pleased with it so far.
  11. I'm pretty happy, actually. The longer I drive it, the better things seem to get. Today on the short drive home I averaged 45mpg. 59* outside, no power drains (no A/C and no heat) and a cold start. Not bad for a short trip. I think that, initially, I was a little bit disappointed, but perhaps there is something to the break-in thing, or perhaps I'm learning the car better, or perhaps it's about temperatures, or maybe a combination. But I am less worried about it than I was a couple of weeks ago, which is good.
  12. Thanks! That makes me feel better about not being able to leave the recirculate button on :)

    MPG Happy Talk

So glad you are starting to get some satisfaction from this car. It's such a nice car in all other respects-- it's such a shame when there is a problem that prevents full enjoyment of it.
  14. I was planning on using Google on my phone for navigation in my car; I ended up with the navigation system because it was installed on the car I ended up buying, but never would have ordered it. It works well enough, but I'm not awed by it.
  15. I do better when I worry less about mileage and just drive-- within reason. If I am too quick on the accelerator then I will have serious mileage problems, but I have yet to really make a huge positive difference by trying to baby the car too much. It seems if I drive conservatively but without too much effort otherwise, I do pretty well.
  16. Yes, temps here in the morning tend to be in the 35*-45* range these past few weeks. It will likely hit 70* this afternoon, but it will probably still go down to 45* tonight. Even where it's relatively warm overall you still can get hit with cold desert type night temps.

    Newbie From Philly

Welcome. You will love that car with the luxury package! Hope it arrives soon :)
  18. Geez, I almost hate to start a topic in here at this point, but I wanted to draw attention to something that could have an impact on your mileage. I have a short commute to work-- 8 miles one way. My mileage to and from work has never been stellar and, though I don't take many long trips, on the few occasions that I have, I've done much better. Particularly early, when the engine is cold, the car struggles to get into EV mode. I believe those first few miles are having a strong impact on my commute mileage and I also believe that, if I had a longer commute, I'd be seeing much better average numbers every day. This morning I did an experiment. There is a long light not far after I get out of my neighborhood; by the time I hit this light my engine has just had a chance to get warm. Today I turned the ignition off and then back on at this light, to start the trip info there, with a warm engine. When I got to work my mileage for that leg of the trip was 53mpg. I've been one of those consistently getting lower than average mileage in the car, but I don't believe that, in my case, there is anything wrong with this car. I also had a hard time getting close to the average in my Prius; I'm pretty sure that you're going to struggle in any hybrid to hit numbers if you have a short commute. I'm eager to see what the numbers for my morning drive will look like once springtime arrives.
  19. Fynack said he thinks that I work for Ford. Maybe he actually works for Lexus. :stirpot:
  20. I never even considered a VW because their reputation for quality is so poor. But we all know that quality can change. Have they improved their products recently?
  21. I still don't see very many on the road. I did pass one today, a white one, on a country road down in wine country. I flashed my lights, he/she flashed back. That's the first one I've seen in a couple of weeks. That surprises me because I know they are selling well. I wonder how long it will be before they are everywhere?
  22. Yep, add me to this list. I never use Auto mode ordinarily, as I like to control how much airflow I have and where it comes from. The fact that it does not remember the last setting and default to that is annoying. Also, I have extreme environmental allergies and I really like to be able to keep the recirculation on at all times, even when the fan is off, to prevent outside air from blowing in after I've filtered it with the AC. The car doesn't seem to allow this, which is another annoyance with the climate system. I can only activate recirculation when the fan is on.
