At first it was sort of distracting seeing the wipers come from the center like it does, but after a couple times, i haven't noticed. I like them now versus the "traditional " wipers since the water and snow is cleared to each side and it helps with snow especially since it doesn't clump all to the drivers side like it used to in my previous cars.

When i was in the engineering mode, i noticed the difference between its mph readout and the speedometer as well. I observed the speedometer was about 2 mph higher than the digital readout. Might explain why it looks like i can get up to 64 mph in EV mode per the speedometer but maybe i am actually only going the published 62 mph.

Congrats! I am loving my Ruby Red as well. I do miss it being as shiny and clean as that though. Stupid winter lol.

Before you start the car, hold down the left OK button, then while turning on the car continue to hold the OK button, then a prompt for the diagnostic screen will appear not long after the car starts. Some of the screens are interesting. There is an analog gauge test where the speedometer goes to 120 and then back to your speed.

Well i tried the diagnostic mode after work today on my way to kohl's for shopping. The temps were in the upper 20s, 8.4 miles of fairly hilly roads and I had the heat on 74-76 mostly in vent mode only. I had to turn off the heat a couple times to kick it back to EV mode. The highest temp the engine reached was 72c (162 F), and that was not for very long. It dropped to 60 (140F) steadily once the heat was on and the EV mode was used more often, and it was there when i parked at kohl's. The speeds were mostly between 30-45. I would think that the engine would warm up more quickly but maybe not. The overall mpg on that trip was 36.8.

I received my Husky liners yesterday and put them in tonight. Just in time for the sloppy weather coming the next 2-3 days. Very pleased with the quality and the fit. A couple of the edges are still slightly stiff so they aren't fitting tight but it isn't bad at all. I noticed the part where it hits against the rear console but I like the little bit if extra protection. I bought them from a2ztruckstuff for $99.99 with free shipping. It took nearly 2 weeks to get them so that was the only negative with the purchase.

Thanks for the information everyone. I will try to get to the diagnostic screens on my way home from work today and see where the temps fall. I have a 35 minute/19 mile drive with varying hills and straight stretches.

I have just over 3000 miles on my Hybrid, and there are a couple things i have noticed which have bothered me a bit. I have not logged my last couple fillups which have been around 40 or so which isn't bad considering the winter temps and gas etc. However, i have been pretty selective on how i use the climate control system and when i use the heat trying to get the best mileage i can. In some cases this is to the detriment of my comfort since I have found that if i keep the heat on for any prolonged periods of time, the car goes in and out of being able to be in EV mode (the temp symbol goes back to blue even if i drive for 30+ minutes). It is almost like the engine warms up (though i have rarely seen the temp gauge half way up), then it will cool down and go below the lowest white line, which will cause EV to not operate. I don't turn on the climate control in the mornings for at least the first 10-15 minutes of my commute since as soon as i turn it on the car goes out of EV mode and theICE has to run. I dont even like running the climate in Auto or floor only since that seems to be a sure fire way to turn the ICE on. Is this normal operation? I have read about acdii's issues with lower operating temps and wondering if there is an issue with the thermostat? I read about going into diagnostic mode by holding the OK button. On what screen and when do you hold the OK button to get it to show the actual temp in celsius?

Valentine Flowers from Ford? huh
lmp180psu replied to Fynack's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
I am pretty sure i said I "loved " Ford, but didnt get flowers. Of course taking the survey about a week ago might have had something to do with it. -
If I wouldn't have read this thread, I would have probably never realized there was a button in the middle between the license plate lights to open the trunk. I just went to my car in the garage and was like "Oh cool!" LOL. I thought that only came on the Titanium with Intelligent Access. I realize the car needs to be unlocked, but still, it is an unexpected feature (to me anyway). Thanks for mentioning it!

For 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium buyers and future buyers
lmp180psu replied to HenryVIII's topic in Wheels & Tires
I am pretty sure the tire size and brand are the same among all 3 18" rim options available. When i ordered the titanium hybrid i debated going the same route as you are thinking. -
Definitely sufficient power in pretty much all situations. I really like the eCVT transmission. Merging onto the highway feels safe and smooth too. Only area where it seems to struggle slightly is going up steeper hills but still not bad. I agree that it felt better than the 1.6.

Congrats! Same as mine but I have Ruby Red. As far as the delivery, make sure they apply the $500 rebate. Also, I made sure to take a close look at the exterior and interior for any scratches or damage. I also checked the fluids and tire pressures. I was surprised my dealer had a paper already made up to decline the extended warranty...usually they push them pretty good.

EV+ mode not recognizing my house or work
lmp180psu replied to lmp180psu's topic in General Discussion
Maybe there is confusion between trip computer reset and lifetime summary reset. I reset my trip computer A during each fillup, and the EV+ locations have not had to be learned again. I think if you do a lifetime reset, the car will need to learn locations again. -

EV+ mode not recognizing my house or work

On Tuesday, the car recognized my work. Not sure how many places it can recognize. So far its 3 for me. -
A couple pics from Saturday when I finally handwashed it for the first time. Couldn't get any shots in a good location due to time: I spent an hour and a half tonight cleaning out my garage so my car could be "warmer"....imagine a car in a garage! lol. First time in many years:

Car cleaning materials bought. Wash inc this weekend!

I did the same thing. All fluids looked good. The only thing I had to do was remove the blue sticker from the Hybrid badge in the engine bay. -

I plan on washing Ruby this weekend too. Hopefully the weather holds out. -
The results of my 3rd tank. The pump shut off at 11.1X gallons, and I pressed the pump until it clicked off again (about 0.5 gallon) for a total of 11.6X gallons put in the tank.

I was wondering too seeing it the first couple times. ICE = Internal Combustion Engine i.e. the gas engine.

See my response above regarding the resetting of the avg mpg. I know one way is to go to trip computer 1 and hold the OK button and a resetting bar will appear. Hold OK until it says its complete. You might be able to hold the OK button on the specific screen but I haven't tried that yet since i like to track mpg over the whole tank and reset the trip computer after each fillup
