1. Oh, and i get the + even if i take a slightly different route to get to his house. It goes to EV+ based on distance from his house not just direction i am coming from.

I dont recall ever seeing it.

Yep, about a 1/4 - 1/2 mile away a + appears next to the EV, and the range you can go on EV power increases on the Empower screen.
3. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="B25Nut" data-cid="40706" data-time="1358210741">
After getting the 3.5.1 update, it took less than a week for mine to relearn three locations that I go to almost daily. When I get within about 1/4-1/2 of a mile away, it switches to EV+.

I had 3.5.1 when I took delivery. Maybe it is hit or miss depending on the location. As I.mentioned it took 4-5 days for my partner's house, but nowhere else so far. Very odd.
4. Do you mean the lifetime average, or the avg mpg that is shown on most the coaching screens (Engage, Empower etc...)? If the avg mpg on the coaching screens, I go to the trip computer 1 screen and hold the OK button down until the resetting bar is complete. I am not sure if you can hold the OK button when you are on a specific coaching screen since I have kept my mileage reading until I fillup the tank. If the lifetime average, then you go to Settings and I think there is a Lifetime Average reset section, and hold the OK button to reset it.

6. Lets see if I can add pics from my Facebook to here. I haven't taken any since the first few days I had the car. Hope to have better ones once I can finally wash it by hand. The day I picked it up from the dealer: Some others: Snowed the next day lol
7. All details in my signature. Loving it so far and mileage is improving every day :)
8. One of the 2 things that I considered the biggest differences when I was deciding on the sticking with my Titanium order vs or purchasing my SE Hybrid order, was the push buton start/intelligent access and the leather seats. Now in my case I have the appearance package cloth seats in my SE (but I am thinking the SE leather seats have similar padding/support), but I did feel the Titanium seats were more supportive and slightly more comfortable. So far though, my cloth seats have not been uncomfortable, so I havent regretted my decision.
9. Tint is definitely something i want to get done. I will probably wait til spring since I am a bit hesitant to do it during the winter and not have the water evaporate correctly etc.
10. I am not sure if this is an issue or not, but after almost 3 weeks of owning my hybrid, the only location that my car recognizes to go into EV+ mode is my partner's house. For the first few days because of time off and the holidays, I was at his house more than usual and the car recognized it in 4-5 days. Now that I have been back to work full time the last 2 weeks, and of course home at least half the time when I don't visit him, I would have thought the car would recognize home and work by now. I prefer not to do a lifetime reset since I would like to keep the stats, but wondering if I need to do that. I know the manual says it may take up to a month remember frequent locations, so that is part of the reason I was surprised it only took 4-5 days with my partner's house. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.
11. Congrats Coach. Beautiful ride and great start to your mileage! If I could figure out how to post pictures in a post (keeps saying they are too big), or how to make an album, I would post pictures of mine lol.
12. I did the return trip from work a little bit ago, and got 48.7 mpg. Once again I had a few hills where i had to go a bit over 2000 rpm, and the temp was slightly higher at 41 degrees. Very happy with this result :)
13. Glad to hear the mpg issues with your car are improving.! Have you changed your driving style since you got the car back from the dealer (aside from your experiment)?
14. I realized I said the wrong screen on my post above. I was actually using the Empower gauge along with the C/H temp gauge on my MyView screen. I have since changed my MyView to tachometer and temp gauge, since Empower is on the next screen if I hit up on the left steering wheel pad.
15. I attempted to follow your experiment as best I could this morning on my commute to work. I have an 18.6 mile trip to work one 2 lane roads, speeds between 35-50 mph. I hit 4 lights on my way in, and it is quite hilly. I changed my MyView screen to have the tachometer and temp gauge, and used the Empower screen to gauge the EV level as I was accelerating. There were 4-5 hills where I had to go just over 2000 rpm (just a tick or 2 over the 2K line) so I didn't lose too much speed. The results were my best yet...46.6 mpg. This was on a cold engine from home, and I had the climate off about 2/3 of the time. 38 degrees. Just over 1000 miles on the car. It helped that the person in front of me for most of the trip was going between -5 mph and right at the speed limits most of the time. Usually people are on my a$$ for going the speed limit or just under. I like to stay around the speed limit as to not pi$$ people off, but I was used to going 5-10 over with my previous 05 TL. It wasn't actually that painful to drive this way this morning, and I actually felt the EV levels stayed higher and more consistent throughout the trip. I won;t be able to see how the trip home compares since I am going to my partner's house tonight, but I will try it again on Monday to see how it does. I am pretty happy :)
16. 18" Goodyears, running factory spec 34 psi. First tank 34.4 mpg, Second tank 38 mpg, and so far on 3rd tank with around a half tank remaining, I am getting 40.3 mpg. Just over 1000 miles now in 2.5 weeks and lifetime avg is up to 37.0. 38 mile round trip hilly commute to work, avg speed around 40 mph. Some highway travel staying 55-65 mph, rarely near 70. Also, some more city, around town driving. Probably close to a 1/3 split between all types of driving. I have found it helps to keep climate off especially when the engine & battery are cold to help warm both up faster.
17. I am currently using the MYView with the gauge from the Engage screen along with the C/H temp gauge. The reason I have the Engage screen is that to me it shows the best way to determine how close you are to going in and out of EV mode. I use the temp gauge to see when the ICE is warmed up, which helps determine if the electric motor will function or not. if the temp graphic (the "boat looking" thing lol) is blue I know it wll not go into EV mode even at a stop. Also, if the temp gauge is at or above the lower line in the middle of the gauge, usually it is warm enough to run in EV mode. I have found that when the climate control is on, it will prevent the car from warming up quickly to run in EV mode, and sometimes when the climate is on, the temp graphic will be blue but as soon as I turn off climate, the graphic switches to white, and EV mode can be accessed. I definitely use the Engage gauge to help me determine how much I can press the gas pedal. I have gotten better and better each day and my mileage reflects that. Optimistic i will get around 42 mpg like I hoped for when I was deciding on the Hybrid.
18. I have had my Hybrid for almost 3 weeks, and overall I would definitely do it again. It is tough to be passed on the highway by pretty much every car as I am trying to get better mileage (driving 55-65), but I love the way the car rides, handles, the low noise levels, and just the overall look inside and out of course. I originally ordered my SE Hybrid in late october, then switched to a Titanium Hybrid 2 weeks later, but when the dealer called on 12/20 to give me a chance to purchase my original order before putting it out for sale, i had a tough day of back and forth on whether to wait for the Titanium Hybrid or take this one. I had a pretty much sleepless night of sleep, and prior evening of discussions with my partner over the decision. I decided the next morning to purchase the SE Hybrid due to me having a horrible stressful last 2-3 months at work (this would be my "present" to myself) and deciding I could do without the extra features, and the extra $2200 (plus I dislike the Titanium Hybrid wheels and I would have given up the moonroof). I occassionally wish I had the push button start and intelligent access, but so far I havent had that moment I really have been kicking myself over not waiting an extra 3 months or so. My mileage has been steadily increasing, and my current tank is at 40.3 mpg with almost a half a tank gone. I originally decided when I was deciding between the Hybrid and 1.6 SE, that I would be happy with 42 mpg. I can see myself getting that, especially once the car is broken in, and the weather gets nicer/warmer. I have learned that keeping the climate control off makes a significant difference in when EV mode kicks in when the car is first started after being off for a while. It can be a little cold in the morning, but I have a warm coat and gloves LOL.
19. Hi everyone! This is my first post here, but I have been browsing for close to a month now. Some of you maybe recognize my screen name from Blue Oval Forums. Glad to find a forum decidated to the Hybrid, so I can share experiences, driving tips, etc. If I knew how to resize my pics I have to post here I would, but I am pretty duh when it comes to that type of thing. I hope to wash it my hand this weekend, since it is supposed to be around 60 :) My first 2 fillups are shown in my signature below, and I am averaging just over 40 on my 3rd tank so far (almost half used). my lifetime average is up to an even 37. Not bad considering the winter weather etc. One thing I have learned, is that keeping the climate control off, especially when it is first started each day, makes a big difference in how quickly the EV mode will kick in. Looking forward to following everyone's topics.
