TonyHzNV Report post Posted January 26, 2015 I bet the ebay people get theirs from either wrecks or lots of test drives. #supercynicalLOL! That's why they have to charge $50 for them on eBay.....they have to manufacture those nice little factory boxes/literature to put them in. Otherwise they'd be cheaper! 2 hybridbear and acdii reacted to this

shaggy314 Report post Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Ok, so back to a Navigation question... Could I copy an A5/A6 to a blank SD card of the same capacity? Also, a bunch of A6 cards are now on Ebay from bids to buy now for $50-$100. Edited March 10, 2015 by shaggy314
Easy Rider Report post Posted March 10, 2015 Ok, so back to a Navigation question... Could I copy an A5/A6 to a blank SD card of the same capacity?Don't know. Try it and see.Even if you can, it probably wouldn't work unless you have software that will do a bit-by-bit copy of the entire card.

Most Buy It Now pricing is around $100 but a few auctions starting at $50 and even the above link currently at $32 or so.
Howie411 Report post Posted March 11, 2015 I will totally buy the map for $50 on Ebay if I can. Ford and or Navteq need to learn that they will make more money selling the sdcards at $50 vs $150 and they would probably get 5x the amount of people to buy them. Anyone who pays $100 or even $150 for a map update (especially with google maps being free) is dumb.
nv rick Report post Posted March 12, 2015 I don't know how many people actually pay the msrp for these cards, but I would guess that if they would only charge around $50, they would sell more than 3 times the number they currently do.It is inconceivable that the cost of updating these maps justifies the price that is charged. I for one cannot see updating more than once every three or four years. If the price was more reasonable, I would do it every couple of years. 1 GrySql reacted to this
md13ffhguy Report post Posted March 12, 2015 True story, as I've mentioned before, my salesman told me that map updates would be available for free online - just a simple download. I didn't quite believe it, but he sure seemed to be convinced that was the case.

SteveB_TX Report post Posted March 12, 2015 A car salesman will tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear. Many (most) are too lazy to actually learn all about the car they are selling. My MKZh salesman (the internet sales rep) explained everything about the car during the delivery phase in the private "Lincoln Only" section of the dealership. :whistling: Anyway, he programmed my phone into the MLT, downloaded my contacts, and showed how to use a bunch of the Sync and MLT functions. Sure, it took awhile to do, but it was nice to know he actually knew the features of the car. Two weeks later the FFH was purchased. The salesman was as useless as... well, you know. I am not even sure he knew the hybrid did not have a spare tire! :zombi: 1 hybridbear reacted to this
machoman1337 Report post Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) My sales dude said the same. He also told me the spare tire was under the trunk deck My salesman said the navigation system would permit destination entry by the front passenger while the vehicle is in motion (the inability to do this is a gripe I have with many Japanese models). Turned out that wasn't the case. He also said that Ford doesn't make cargo nets for the Fusion hybrid and I believed it. I was even prepared to pay for a cargo net but he seemed utterly convinced that the parts department didn't have one available for the hybrid. I would buy the map update (A6) if I had some sort of guarantee that it covered the new roads that have been built in Vancouver over the last few years. I'm not sure if my country's maps are even updated in the first place... Edited March 12, 2015 by machoman1337
TonyHzNV Report post Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) You didn't get the seat occupant detector option? You have to have that to program the Nav system from the passenger side! (standard on Titanium) :-) But you CAN enter a destination by voice. "Navigate to"... He understood cargo MAT, not cargo NET. And he was right for a while. But now we have those beautiful Weathertech cargo mats! By the time a map update gets published, the data is probably close to 2 years old. Something to consider.
