I have a 2013 ford fusion hybrid and currently my MPG is 43.6 and the mileage is 39891.7. When I bought my car in September of 2013 it had 10,500 miles on it already with a 34 MPG average. I am just wondering how everybody else doing on there mpg.

I have a 2014 Fusion Hybrid it just turned 5000 miles and MPG is 45.1. My commute is 25 miles each way and is mostly back roads 40-45 MPH speeds.

Are you talking lifetime on the dash or manually calculated based on the amount of gas you've purchased? Either way, it seems you're doing well! If 43.6 is displayed on your dash, and you've never reset it since you acquired the car, that's excellent! My dash is currently reading 50.9, but my lifetime manual calculation is 47.2 at nearly 21K miles.

Based on your numbers you are doing really well.

Increasing the avg. in less then a year by 10 MPG while driving 30000 miles is really impressive!

 

It just took me 4 month to get back to 43.5 MPG after our FL trip in April dropped it down to 42.1 MPG. (Main dash display)

Approx 12,300 miles. Lifetime MPG, 52.1. My fill ups are usually within .2, or less, of what the trip meter says I've used.

After a whopping 825 miles, my 2014 HyTi is at 41.2. Mostly trips of 10 miles or less. My best MPG on one of these trips has been 58.8 on fairly long stretches of 35 MPH. Can't wait until the car is more broken in and the mileage goes up even more.

 

I couldn't be happier with what I'm getting so far. Now if only my wife would stop hitting the MAX AC button every time she gets in the car when it's been sitting in the sun for more than 10 minutes!

There's your reason! Most of the higher avg. MPG are coming from drivers with at least some portion let's say 30% of city driving. The higher the city portion (max. speed 45 MPH) the higher the avg.

Not true for for everyone IIRC Sleddog is one exception.

After 27,000 miles mt cars computer shows a lifetime average of 47.5 mpg. My actual mileage is 46.4 mpg.

gf2020 - Since all your miles have been in June and July they very likely include a lot of A/C time. the overuse of which will keep your MPG below 40. As DirectorMan implied, keep the passenger's finger off the Max A/C control. On hot days, always use your key to have all the windows down before you get to the car. This is where the sunroof is most useful. It helps eliminate the hot air inside much faster. I've found using 72 degrees as a minimum A/C setting (I usually have it at 73 or 74) and manually controlling the fan speed decreases the lose in MPGs.

My lifetime average after 9 months of ownership was under 38 mpg. Now at 21K miles, it sits at 42.2 mpg. My Engage display has 42.6, and the mileage for the past 4K miles has been 43.4 mpg. I usually drive 5 mph or more over the speed limit. Your brake score is also a significant factor for good MPG. Mine is at a 96% average.

I just turned 10,000 miles and I'm at 38.4. My wife is the daily driver and she could care less about driving style to max out the MPG. About half of the miles are road trips on interstate highways across the country. The car has been to both oceans and three of the great lakes, so I think we are doing pretty well.

42.5 with 3025 miles. I reset the average at every tank and noticed the last tank was 7 miles per gallon below the displayed mpg. Previous tank was within 1 mpg of the display. I always fill at lowest pump setting and stop filling when the pump auto shuts off. I believe pump shut off variations can cause these type of swings in reported vs actual mpg.

After 23,629 miles my lifetime MPG on the dash is 49.8. I maxed out last fall at 51.7. Then the winter from hell came to the Philly area and I dropped to 49,4 lifetime. Back up to 49.8 but with that many miles it's getting hard to increase it. It's much easier to decrease it.

After returning from a 2100 mile trip I now have 17,350 miles on the 2013 FFH and 44.8 MPG.

I have a little over 13000 now, and lifetime is 40.1.

I can easily get mid to upper 40's, but have to do some hypermiling, which I don't do much. I am extremely happy with the mileage. A full size sedan averaging 40, for almost exclusively city driving? What's not to like?

When I drove off the lot I reset the lifetime, so with 3 miles on it to now with 29300 miles the dash reads 42.4 MPG. This includes a really cold winter. It is pretty close to actual too when you look at Fuelly. Problem with Fuelly, my wife usually gets gas and "forgets" to mark down the trip, or "forgets" to reset it. So there are a lot of missed fuelings.

39.3 and slowly climbing! I have a hair over 500 miles on the car. Honestly, as long as I stay above 40, I'm happy.

Life mileage is stating 41.7 and some times 41.8. It has been going back and forth. I've thought that I'd entered the fuelly log info correctly but it shows to be way off. I have not totaled up all my gas receipts as yet, I think it will show something completely different again if I do.

My lifetime mpg on the dash display reads 38.4 after 15,800 miles but my Fuelly mileage in my signature below is probably a little more accurate. Most of my driving is on the highway at 5-9 mph over the limit.
