  1. That was my assumption as well when I started the car and everything was as it used to be. My expectations were set by the YouTube video linked below that indicated that without connecting a memory saver prior to replacing the battery all configurations would be lost. I'm a happy camper since I didn't have to reconfigure everything from scratch. Thanks for your insights. https://youtu.be/gQHg5m5HDHM?si=8IyFhAUFRbgzfj9a
  2. The car has been performing well, so I've put that concern behind me. I'm still at a loss to explain how my presets survived the battery being disconnected for a few days.
  3. Thanks. I’ll try not to. There was a two or three day gap between when I removed the old battery and installed the new one. I assumed that I would have to reconfigure the radio presets, etc., but to my surprise when I started the car everything was intact. Does that make sense?
  4. Yes, I did, and I wanted to reset the BMS following the instructions on the YouTube videos, but if there is no 12v battery icon on the dashboard I have no way of knowing if the reset was successful, since the icon is supposed to flash once the BMS has been reset.
  5. That is exactly why I want to do it, but I don’t see the battery icon.
  6. I want to perform a BMS reset, but I don't see the 12v icon on my display when I start it up in accessory mode. Is there a setting to make it visible?
  7. Here are photos of the material. The first photo is of the right front tire area of the car. The second is a closeup of the material.
  8. The material I saw looks like the spongy material used as packing material for things like computers, etc. My uneducated guess is that it started out as a solid piece and the critters got in there and started chewing/scratching on it to get it out from where they found it. What I saw was a dozen or so little chunks in roughly a 2" to 3" circle.
  9. We've seen squirrels, mice, and very rarely a racoon or opossum. Can't recall for sure if we've seen rats.
  10. Anything's possible, but if I were a betting man, I'd go with coming OUT of.
  11. It's probably mice, but "Rats ate my car" sounded better. :)
  12. The evidence has been swept away. I'll have to wait for it to happen again to get some pictures. If the material is coming from the car, I'll have to stick my smartphone under the chassis and see if I can take a decent picture, since there's no way I can fit under it myself. All I know right now is that it collects under the chassis just in back of and a little to the right of the left front tire and a little to the right of the right front tire.
  13. On two separate occasions I have seen a white spongy material on the ground under my car near the left and right front tires. I'm wondering if rats are climbing up under my car and pulling out insulation material or something similar and taking it back to their nests. Does anybody have any idea what this white material might be? Is it important to the proper functioning of my car? Is it time to break out the rat traps?
  14. I got the $29 for six months offer a few days ago. My free subscription expires December 20th. Considering how few stations I find interesting enough to listen to, together with my 30GB a month data plan for listening to Pandora, TuneIn and Slacker, along with the fact that I don't spend a lot of time in the car, I'm tempted to wait until they offer to pay ME to listen to their product.
  15. A lot of my driving is in the city along a particular route in which the speed limit is 35 MPH, with some areas that have long stretches between lights. After getting up to 35 MPH on the long stretches, I try to keep it in EV mode. Doing so I average 50 MPG on a car with 1600 miles on it. If instead I take the freeway, I try to keep it out of EV mode, and I average about 41 MPG. Does that correspond to what you are advising?
