Sync summer update Gen2 v3.6 coming

Okay, I will report back later this week after I take the car to the dealer and get their take on the software update.

Yes, it seems odd that it showed everything up to date on the website for over a week after confirming the update and then suddenly it said there was a dealer update available for the same version that had already been installed. 3.6.2 also seems much more responsive than 3.5.1, so I wonder if they have any additional tweaks in store.

A new sync-related updated supplement for 13A01 came out not long ago, wonder if that could be a factor?

I'm having people tell me it's harder for them to hear my on the MFT phone system after the update. Is anyone else having this?

 

Also, was there supposed to be a new map SD card with this update? I see in the pdf jeff_h posted it says "To remind dealers that a new Navigation SD Map Card (A4 level) must still be installed on these affected vehicles when the APIM is reprogrammed."

 

I remember after my reset the map navigation didn't show up and I had to pop out the SD card and put it back in for it to work.

If you are upgrading from 3.2.1 you need to use a new map card. If you upgrading from 3.5.1 it's the same A4 map card.

I updated today. Update completed succesfully but did have some issues marking the update as completed on sync site.

There was no XML file with my VIN on the the root directory of the flash drive so I could not complete the process.

There was an XML file in the sync directory with a longer name that included my VIN. I just copied the file to the root directory and renamed to what the system was expecting and all was good.

That is the same thing it says for mine, though this same update is also shown in the full sync history. Let us know what the dealer says, as I bet the dealer will say that you already have the update and there's nothing to do with sync.

Okay, I took my car to the dealer today and gave them the print out from SyncMyRide that showed that I needed the dealer to perform a software update even though I already had updated to 3.6.2. The service adviser said that they tried to do the update but couldn't do it because my car already had the latest software update. I think there must be a glitch on SyncMyRide that is sending us this message. :headscratch:

Two minutes to download, 17 minutes to unzip to flash drive, and 30 to install. Takes longer to unzip to flash than to download 522 MB.

I saw the same thing yesterday. I went to syncmyride.com and Etis which both said that I had an Sync update. There was a link in Etis to view information but it had an error. Syncmyride said my latest update was in July but my history showed my one from a couple weeks ago. This is very strange. I have an appointment tomorrow morning and we'll see what the dealer has to say.

So I went to the dealership this morning and I was there for an hour and half. They said that they did the update but I think they just applied the same one I did a couple weeks ago. I looked on syncmyride.com and the update notice is still there but it shows my last update as today. Also, in my SYNC history it shows that the update was confirmed twice today and etis still shows that I need a software update. I think ford's systems are all out of wack! I've tried calling the contact us number on syncmyride.com and it hung up on me twice and there isn't anyone on live chat. I think they are hiding until it all gets fixed.

Is anyone else having trouble with the bluetooth now after the update? My phone will no longer connect to my vehicle even after multiple re-pairing attempts.

Hey y'all. I checked my sync page yesterday just for the fun of it (yeah, right) to see if it was fixed yet. There was a site update going on, so when it finally came back up my sync page now shows my current version as 3.6.2, updated on Aug 15, 2013! :happy feet: I wonder how long before the site "forgets" again!... ;)

Hey, guess what, My Sync shows my car with the correct SYNC software version, for the first time in over a year!

It even shows the correct date when v3.6.2 was updated (by the Dealer).

My Mileage was still wrong so I sent a VHR and it worked to update my Profile.

Well, that is PROGRESS!!

 

I'll give this success story to Kim.

I'm still able to access the website when I go to: www.SyncMyRide.com

I'm not having any issues with Chrome, FireFox or Internet Explorer at the moment. Try deleting your cache and cookies from your computer. Let me know if that makes a difference.

I deleted the Firefox cache and that fixed it.

I never ever change more than one thing at a time.

If you do then you don't know what the solution was.
