The above sounds reasonable but it's not what I'm seeing, as I don't have links for that, not that I can see. Below what I see when I click "How to check your SYNC Software Version"...

Thanks for all the suggestions but no matter what I do, or what I click on, or follow the webpage trail to find the v3.6 update it ends up on the same place, my car is supposedly up to date with v3.5.1. I cannot access the v3.6 update for download to a USB stick.

I can't even access the Version Checker, every webpage for my car ends up here. I am not computer illiterate.

I'll have the dealer do it when I'm in next time.

Mine hasn't gone past 5% yet and I've stopped and started a few times. So it may be doing something...

 

On your USB, monitor the files in the subfolder "SyncMyRide" and see if the times/sizes are updating. It may be really

slow decompressing one of the files. I'll just go to lunch and see if it progresses.

 

I can tell the file it is download at 5% is very big, must be trickling in because the website is slow.

If you stop it, you'll see the late file keeps getting bigger, but it is not complete.

Yeah I've noticed it's stuck on 5% but the files are updating in size. I'll let it run for a couple of hours and see what happens.

If you have stopped and started (engine) or turned the key to accessory you have interrupted the process and must start over from scratch from the very first step. Mine read 5% for about 10 minutes or more and then stuck at 37% for awhile and then finished.

Ok this time it says my download failed, I re-started the download at it went straight to 5% again....... we'll see what happens this time.

This time it jumped up to 32% then a failed message came up. Man this is frustrating.

Are you using a blank USB stick? Are you working in other things while its downloading?

 

When I did mine I started it and left it alone until it was done, took quite a while.

No it's not 100% blank, there are some thing for work on the stick.

Takes me to the same pages/screens as in the above screenshots... different menus for VINs in different categories I guess, otherwise we wouldn't have those other users reporting that their version is up to date.

Mine is up to 38% after lunch, so just let it go I guess.

It's decompressing files in Java, so who knows how efficient

that is. I suspect that plus the load on the website it making it

unbearable....

OK I deleted a bunch of stuff and I'm trying for the 5th time now.

I successfully downloaded and installed the update yesterday around 6 PM. It didn't take too long to download (under 10 min?) and it took about 25-30 minutes to install.

 

I also didn't have to delete the BT connection from my phone - I just went to MFT BT settings - added a device and on my phone I just clicked SYNC under existing BT connections. It asked me to re-confirm the 4 digit pin and it paired right away.

 

Like others, it deleted my quick calls list, but kept my NAV favs. For some reason when I tried to set Home as my destination using voice commands it says Home wasn't set up yet. I'll have to try that again today.

 

This morning I also noticed that my clock was one hour behind. I fixed it, then selected SYNC to GPS time - it went back an hour again! I checked the timezone and it knows I'm in EST ... so I don't know what's up with that - I just change it manually again and left it.

 

This update also made my songs and artist names show up when I'm streaming from the Nexus 4 w/ Jelly bean 4.3, depending on which app I use:

Google Music - shows both track and artist
Pandora - shows only track, no artist
iHeart Radio - doesn't show anything

DS Audio - shows only track, no artist

 

Text Messaging still doesn't work.

Yes, I had a 8GB drive formatted as FAT 32 so I just deleted all the files on it and downloaded the SYNC update. I did my update on a Mac in Safari.

 

Love the phone and I'm on the T-Mobile $30/mo 5GB data, 100 min plan. I use Groove IP for calls and it's a pain to integrate everything with MFT.

The directions say to use a blank thumb drive. I keep a blank 4 gig drive in reserve for updates.

send you a link. I made a zip after I got it all. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK,

email. Exact image of my USB drive pre-update. I do not know for certain that

this will still work for you, but you can try it.
