cracking noise

Recommended Posts

The Energi appears to need this repair. It makes the same popping noise that the black FFH did.

Hey hybridbear,

Have you had this repair taken care of? Let me know if you have any updates, and I'll see how I can best assist.

Rachel's still around, but I've taken over her forums. :) I need to make an introduction post, and I promise I will soon. :D

I'll be okay, HB. I'll bet Meagan is nice too. ;)

Very nice! :D

Meagan is already my all time favorite Ford Service Rep. Look, HB, she provides us with chocolate chip cookies. Don't worry, Meagan, its probably just a little bit of separation anxiety.

Well, HB isn't the only one, I PM'ed her a couple days ago to find out what was happening.

As far as snacks go, bears may like CC cookies, squirrels sometimes feel like a nut.

Way to make me blush! No worries, I completely understand. :D

How about some honey walnut, then?

The clicking/cracking noise has reappeared in the RF wheel, at 24,000 miles. Same noise, same conditions that was repaired in July, 2013, at 6,000 miles. I thought I heard something last week but wasn't sure. It's now repeatable every time I accelerate and brake. I'm taking the car in tomorrow for another issue and I'll mention this to the SA. All the SA's are new at my dealer, so I'll be armed with the TSB 13-5-24. I'm hoping Ford will honor multiple claims for the same condition. Has anyone else that had the TSB done, hearing the clicking noise again?

Any Ford part that was installed by the Dealer has a 2 year, unlimited mileage warranty. You are still under the BtB warranty too aren't you?

All new SA's at our Dealer? Boy, it was too good to last.

No clicking on mine since the repair, my car has 38k miles.

Still under BtB warranty. I met Jason off facility and he said he might be back to SBF, he's working at the large truck division. It's tough retraining the SA's to understand our needs. I haven't been back for 6 months, to good to be true.

When I had that TSB done on my SE FFH, it was only audible on the left side, but the tech said he replaced them both since it looked like it would have developed on the right side in the future -- did they do both side when they did your TSB work?

The appointment went as expected. Luckily the new SA was a former tech and understood the problem immediately.

Both sides were done in July, 2013. Both sides were done again this morning. Driving home the clicking noise was gone. Hopefully this will be the last time this TSB is needed.

Hello Everybody,

I'm Guillaume from France.

I recently purchased a FFH here in France 2 month ago (we call it a Mondeo here, but this is exactly the same).

Since 2000Miles I'm facing this issue...I checked all my tires to look for rocks blocks inside...but then after...

I just realized that this should be another problem...

And from what you are describing it's look like I have the exact same problem.

The main problem here is that FFH is highly new here in Europe (Since January)...So the the delaers do not know correctly how to fix them...They have been trained in the Spain factory wich is the factory for EMEA...but looking no enough....

But there is really something upsetting me right now...

My model is 2015 FFH...So i should not be impact by this issue??? But I AM!!!

I'm just hoping that ford NA is not shipping bad parts over Europe...if its the case...this will be very bad for your reputaion...

If there is someone from Ford NA here...I really need you to get in touch with Ford France and explain to them that my problem is well-known and how to fix it....

I need you on this...

For information I bought my Car in Argenteuil city near Paris (I was the very first to buy a mondeo Hybrid "FFH")

Need you guys on this...

Feel free to contact me...i'm fluent in english....

Tel. +33651558076

Well contacted them...but they told me to contact Ford France.

And of course...Ford France is not aware at all of this problem as hybrid for ford is fully new here...

Jeez...Looking like Ford US spread over Europe some old crappy parts...

But I'm paying the strong price! :angry22: :angry22: :redcard: I Paid almost 40K€!! For old parts?? Seriously??

Why not print out TSB 13-05-24, get it translated into French and hand it to your Dealer where you live.

tsb13-05-24.pdf

By the way, this Forum is here to help, as volunteers - we are not paid by Ford.

Getting angry at us and name calling is not appropriate, or wanted.

Talk to your Dealer in France or Ford France Customer Service, if they are unable to help you there is nothing we can do about it.

Wow 40,000 euros for an FFH? The French market seems almost as insane as the German market for new car prices. In Canada $40,000 (28.7k euros) with 12% sales tax included would get you an FFH with most of the options... my car would've cost that much if I'd bought it brand new. And Americans get it for even less! (well not anymore since the exchange rate is weak)

When we North Americans first got our cars in late 2012/early 2013, we would've been in the same boat as you - totally new car of its generation = dealers will be unfamiliar with problems and will take longer than normal to resolve them. Doesn't matter what brand of car it is. It takes at least a few months before the manufacturer can crack down on launch problems and instruct dealers on how to repair them.

Also Ford of Europe for the most part produces all parts for its Europe-market cars in the EU, for cost and logistics regions... don't be blaming us North Americans for it!

Ok there is a misundersting here...I'm not blaming you guys...or U.S. or Canada...

I'm just hoping that ford is not providing crappy outlet parts to europe...as this problem was solved in 2013 and My car is a 2015 and I have the exact same issue...

I also thought that all the parts were made here in Europe (exepection for the battery coming from michigan)...

But you can understand that as I have the same issue that have been solved in 2013...i'm a bit confused..

I'll give the English TSB to my dealer...but they do not understand english...and mecanics terms are hard to translate..

I'm looking a french canadian version of this TSB if someone have it...will be much appriciated...

And to answer to the other question regarding the price...this common in Europe...

When you guys buy a PS4 for 399$ we pay 499€ same for apple...cars...everything is just much more expensive here...
