new2fordfusion Report post Posted May 1, 2013 EricFla, Thanks for the clarification. When I spoke to my service advisor, he mentioned that they haven't heard of this compliant before. He recommended to set up test drive with the mech and they can see what the prob is. Based on the discussions here, i will just wait till a TSB is issued as I already know what their answer may be. 1 erichFla reacted to this
erichFla Report post Posted May 1, 2013 Right now that's what all of us are doing...... Waiting on the TSB. When it gets here would someone PLEASE put it up on the Threads. I have yet to receive my 13B03 letter. Luckly the dealership had it on their computer tho. Seems like Ford is really dropping the ball on their Customer Service. I also just a few days ago received my Owner Advantage Rewards cards, I could have used that on the purchase of the Rim and saved myself another 5% off on parts. Maybe I'll take it down now and see if they will honor it after the fact.
neod192 Report post Posted May 1, 2013 How long did it take to receive the reward cards? I just bought my front splash guard and on the invoice there's a coupon for 10% off motorcraft parts. I wonder if I can use it on the rear set :) 1 erichFla reacted to this
Toz Report post Posted May 1, 2013 I know this isn't the same issue everyone is talking about but I thought I'd throw it out there. Does anyone else get a pretty loud pop noise from their exhaust when you shut off the car? Like someone hitting metal on metal? I get a few pop sounds spaced out about 10 or 15 seconds apart or so after I shut off my car. I assume it's just the exhaust metal cooling but I've never heard that on any of my other cars before. I know for a fact it's coming from the exhaust line though. No big deal I guess, just weird. That is probably just the HVB relays disengaging. At least one is located back by the battery. The relay sound could be trasmitted by the exaust system because it runs right under the battery.

rvlasek Report post Posted May 5, 2013 Anyone receive recent update from their Dealer or Ford customer service on crackling noise issue, I plan to call next week to my dealer in Grapevine , Tx to get update on my Hotline assistance request, and order correct shifter knob.... erichFla Report post Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) @ rvlasek I think this is the report Topguy 150 was talking about I had the same problem you are all discussing since I got the car in december 2012. The problem was finally fixed after I had a power train warning on my dash. I was told that they were replacing some type of cooling pump that delt with the hybrid system. after the pump was replace the clicking stopped. I told the dealer, the region service manager and the ford 800 number. told them to contact the dealer and the repair man to see what was done to solve the problem. If you can't get info from ford for the fix, contact the dealer in Naples Fl,I did not get a feeling that anyone was really concerned about solving the problem. Fix on cracklin noise? if so where is report found.... Edited May 5, 2013 by erichFla
GrySql Report post Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) The Dealer that provided this 'fix' should have given topguy150 a Service Order copy of the work done, that paperwork would contain the specific repair.Topguy, is it possible for you to post that page of the paperwork here for our edification. expresspotato Report post Posted May 5, 2013 Pump? This ain't no pump problem. This isn't relay's clicking in the back. You guys should take those comments elsewhere and stop diluting this thread. 2 47Minutes and GrySql reacted to this
chris_spangler Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Experiencing the same issues on 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 4700 miles on it. Any updates that anyone knows of? I took my car to the dealership on 5/3/13 and have been told essentially the same thing a lot of other owners have heard; Ford is aware of it and looking into a fix. Quite annoying to purchase a new car and have issues so early in the ball game. Does anyone know who I can escalate this feedback to above the dealership? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a quiet hybrid, only to be interrupted every time you break and accelerate with weird metallic clicking sounds... 1 lmp180psu reacted to this
rvlasek Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Sent email this morning to my local Ford Dealer service dept. pertaining to front end noise issue you referred. . I referenced the Hotline Assistance Request 106198928 which I was issued March 27th, no reply yet....
47Minutes Report post Posted May 6, 2013 As of today my dealer has no new info on my Hotline assistance request. On a side note, don't have your rear window replaced unless you absolutely have to. Apparently the headliner has to be pulled down and the rear interior side panels removed and God knows what else to get the glass panel out. In hindsight, I maybe should have lived with my funhouse mirror rear window rather than have all this done. I can't wait for the noises to start as a result of having the interior torn apart and reassembled by the service department. :hammer_self:

47Minutes Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Dang! I see a little bit of distortion in mine, but I wonder if yours was worse ... Did the new glass come in? Is it actually better? The glass guy is putting it in this afternoon. They need tomorrow yet to reassemble everything. I had about a 6" tall band extending from left to right in just about dead center of my sight line when looking in the rear view mirror. Anything in that 6" band looked like a fun house mirror. My Kia rental is 100% worse. The whole glass has that effect. I just hope the new glass is perfectly clear or it is all for nothing. If it is, then I know I have at least until 3/36,000 for the dealer to stand behind any shakes, rattles and rolls that result. If not, then this was a big exercise in anal retentiveness. dmt1971 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 I've had mine back for about three weeks now and the noise has not come back yet. I have not seen anyone else say the same yet. Am I the only one? On a side note, I'm getting a jingly rattle behind my center console (MFT screen/ touch buttons). Anyone else getting this rattle?
cincidaddi Report post Posted May 8, 2013 This is a great forum. I come here regularly to anticipate issues and find solutions. I received my FFH 2013 in December 2012. It has ~3800 miles and the ping pong click noise which I first noticed about a month ago at low speed accel and deccel seems to be getting louder. Clearly the same problems reported in the many pages of this thread. Add me as another owner anxiously anticipating a fix soon. 1 chris_spangler reacted to this
47Minutes Report post Posted May 8, 2013 I don't want to do it, but I'd be interested in seeing statistics gathered on the vehicles experiencing this issue. Model/options/build date etc. Only out of curiosity but not nearly enough to tackle it myself.

Has Ford officially found out what is causing the "cracking" noise? They won't come out with a TSB until they have a fix. Look how long the took to come out with the TSB for the 12v battery issue. 1 erichFla reacted to this

basicallyevolve Report post Posted May 9, 2013 Just wanted to go over all the issues with my car with other owners. Car notes Rear sensor beeps- 2 tones. Sometimes loud and sharp but mostly normal soft. Build quality exterior- door moldings do not fit well. A lot of gaps and issues. Rear window - distortion. Dealer replaced and replacement still has distortion. Lag in sync system and Navi. Changing stations fast causes delay. Navi takes forever sometimes Phone lag on pickup. Sometimes a few seconds. People hear the ringing while my car try's to connect to my phone. Filling gas. nozzle doesnt stay. Some gas stations are a pain. I have to hold down the gas nozzle to ensure my car fills. The nozzle will not stay and autofill all the time. Lack of access to car when battery dies. My battery died once.... you have no way of getting into car unless you call roadside assistance. You cant open doors or the trunk. Navi screen. Dust and finger print magnet. Cloth only pushes dust into corners. You cant properly clean it with the cloth. Rattling noise from driver side fender. Was not assembled correctly and took months to track down. Once found the body shop fixed it. But now i am left with a gap between my hood and fender that is not pleasant. Delay in trunk opening and locking cars doors or unlocking. Even the alarm button when pushed by mistake sometimes takes forever to correct Sorry about the crude notes. Those are from my phone so i just pasted it into the window. As for the axle popping noises.... i ran into this in December and have been waiting for a fix for months now I am taking all these notes and some extra ones along with my print outs from my 10 dealership visits to a Ford Event in my state that is taking place on the 17th of this month. I m going to let the engineers have it good. They want to do a sit in with a few ford fusion owners and get feedback about the vehicle. I wont hold back my frustrations and disappointments at all =]. Sorry for the format of this post. It was done from my phone.
murphy Report post Posted May 9, 2013 Read your manual. You can easily get into the car with a dead 12 volt battery. There is a keyhole hidden under a pop off cover in the drivers door handle. 1 jeff_h reacted to this
