Seeing other 2013 Fusions

It is cool to hear ppl comment about the car. Now that we're driving a lot with open windows we'll hear ppl comment, especially when driving down one of our parkways where there are tons of ppl walking & biking on the paths. Just today I heard someone comment as we went by "Look! That's the new Fusion Hybrid!"

My husband and I were leaving a restaurant this morning and as we were pulling out, a couple walked in front of the car. They kept looking at the car and talking to each other. I said to my husband, "Look, they are talking about how nice this car is," and he said they were probably saying something more like, "who is this jerk about to hit us in this parking lot?" I think he was wrong, though ;)

They were remarking at how glossy and colorful your car was, and wondering if they can have their car ever look that good.

There is a brand new Fusion Hybrid (black) parked on the street adjacent to ours in the neighborhood. That makes a total of four that I've seen in the 'hood (including mine). I think I started a trend :)

The HyTi was driven my a woman she was going bit faster than me so it didn't turn into a 3 lane wide parade.

For the last seven months, the most Fusions I have seen on my trips to Southern Cal has been two. This changed on my trip last week. Coming out of LAX at Century and Sepulveda Blvd, a FFH pulled up beside me as another Fusion made a U-turn from the opposite direction. All three of us were white! On the trip I saw two car haulers filled with Fusions and five other Fusions on the freeways.

We saw several Teslas, which I have completely lost my desire for. They aren't that much better looking to justify such a huge investment, and I have yet to see a Fusion need a tow truck (thanks GrySqr for your story).

Have seen a few gas Fusions here in Canada but no hybrids. As we've driven by dealers we've tried to look and have seen very few Fusions on dealer lots and no hybrids. Lots of ppl have asked about our car though, both family and strangers as we've been out and about. I love talking about the FFH and our gas mileage.

We saw lots of gas Fusions on our road trip. The 2.0 EB engine seems very popular in Canada. Most of the Fusions we saw were SE models but with the dual integrated exhaust. Around MN we see very few with the 2.0 EB, most have the base 2.5 ICE or the 1.6 EB. We saw a couple hybrids, one was staying at the same hotel as us in Spokane, a BR with almost the exact same features as our car. But theirs was a Job 2 build without the touch-sensitive buttons. We also saw 2 Fusion Hybrids while we were sightseeing around downtown Vancouver. It's nice to see more and more out there.

I see '13 Fusions every day, especially because Fort Lauderdale is like the rental car capital of the USA! But I have literally only seen TWO Hybrids since I started looking for them. I don't know why I don't see more of them??? Every time I approach one or see one approaching me, I look for the Hybrid emblem on the door or trunk, and it is never there, except for the two that I saw. One was another black one, we were crawling in traffic on the turnpike and we waved to each other. And when I was at the dog park with my dogs, I saw a Bordeaux Reserve one parked in the corner spot. When I was leaving, I saw the owners getting into the car to leave. I stopped to chat with them, told them my car was on order and was due for delivery in the another week or so. But that is it, no other hybrids!

On my way up north saw 6 Fusions, but they were going the other way, so couldnt tell if any were Hybrids. 2 white, one Ginger Ale, 1 silver, and 2 black ones. Then yesterday saw a black FFH, and the driver was wearing a bright yellow jacket and matching hat.

 

On the way home, saw 1 white Fusion and one Cmax.

Wow they are coming out! Saw 5 today, a Blue one, followed by a black one, then a gray one, and later a silver one, and white one.

 

 

Oh, also saw a Ruby Red FFH being pushed by some lady carrying a baby on her back. I think they were local to CL too.

Just to return to topic I saw 4 on my way home.

Gray + Black SE 2.5 / Silver 2.0 EB Ti / White SE FFH (my neighbor)

I see at least 1-2 a day on the 405 commute daily. Usually grey or white. Rarely see ginger ale or black. I've only once seen another Ruby Red and I've never seen a blue one.

 

A few weeks ago I saw someone who had modified his. It was white, debadged, with a shiny black roof wrap, 3d carbon kit and a black grill. It looked pretty slick.

I continue to see Fusions almost every day, I always flash my lights at them, but nobody ever flashes back. Now I think it's because most are not Hybrids. I think people who bought a Fusion just bought a car, but those of us who bought a Fusion Hybrid bought an experience.

And I also drove beside a rare bird this morning - a 2013 Ginger Ale Fusion. It did not look bad at all.

It was north on Harrison and turned right on 62 behind me.

 

It was followed by a SKOS in a jeep who zoomed red light to red light, only to wind up 6 cars behind me on 62 when it changed to 2 lanes. Right lanes RULE!
