Oil Change Info for 2013+ Hybrid/Energi

Recommended Posts

Am I overlooking the link in the first post everybody keeps mentioning with a write up and pictures of the job? I'm going to change the oil for the first time on my FFH and just want to look over the pictures so I know what the 3 panels look like ahead of time. Thanks!

3 panels? I started the thread with info about the 2013 FFH, which has one large fiberglass-type cover on the bottom of the engine. Once that's out of the way, everything is accessible. I think the 2014 and 2015 are probably the same, but can't say for sure.

Jeff - did you post pictures of this? I know you've done some excellent tutorials with pics but I can't find any for the oil change in the early pages of this thread.

No, I only did pics of the air filter -- but below is a youtube clip that a regular on the Energi forum posted, same process applies to the FFH. And *now* watching that video I think I know what the OP is talking about with the '3' panels. There is one large fiberglass type of panel, about 3 foot x 4 foot, you can't miss that one! The other two (for which one would need the screwdriver) are the two small plastic clips that help hold the thing in place at the factory before they buzz in all the screws. Those are easy to pop out, just pry down on the tab with a screwdriver, and if you end up busting one of two off (like I did with the FFH) it doesn't hurt anything, just means you won't have those handly clips to use for holding the big panel in place when you buzz the screws back in.

I would have showed them the scale on the side of the jug and said "measurement is built in" :)

You mean there are markings on the side to show how much is left in the container???
