  1. Hello Everyone, After having my tires rotated, I started to experience my steering pulling to the left intermittently and feeling a bit loose. I took it back in to have an alignment done since I have a lifetime agreement at my local pep boys. It did not resolve the issue. I needed to have the PCM updated to fix the wrench light, so I decided to take it in to get diagnosed by the dealership. They are very adamant that the issue is with the rack and pinion, which they tried to get me to replace before. Long story short, it turned out to be an issue with one of my tires. It's been about 4 years since then and I haven't had a single issue with my rack and pinion. They are now trying to charge me $3000 for the repair, but I declined and just got the update and a coolant flush on my engine/mect. When I picked up the car it is now pulling to both the left and the right intermittently. I looked at the notes and it appears the tech crossed rotated the tires. It doesn't appear that the tech did any other diagnostic work to rule out an issue with the sensor. Before I went into the dealership, I ran the codes and took a screenshot. I reset the codes, so I could get my power steering working again. I did have the typical service power steering light come on along with my abs and traction control lights. I am thinking that the issue is a bad steering angle sensor. I wasn't sure at first, but I saw a few youtube videos of other fords having this issue and it turned out to be a sensor issue. I wanted to check and see if anyone has an opinion or has experienced this issue before. If you have any information on possible diagnostics/calibrations I can do through forscan (I have the full license), that would be helpful as well. here are some of the videos I looked at: (I was having a hard time finding english videos) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWgY7FDNFt0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mc59s9JbpDw&t=608s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsjZfI13fLQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed-KsE9m870&t=5s
  2. I read that the new 2014 Fusion has a heated steering wheel. That is the one option the Fusion didn't have in 2013 that I really wanted. Does anyone know if this could be retrofitted back into a 2013 Fusion?
  3. I waited until the new Steering wheel bolt recall was completed to see if that was the problem and afraid not! I thought it was outside in left wheel well, but my wife's superior hearing located the noise inside at the steering wheel itself. My steering wheel started to squeak when turning right from a standing start about 2 months ago. I asked dealer to check it out then while in for other work and they CND (could not duplicate). I just had the steering wheel bolt RECALL done hoping that was the cause of the mystery squeak, no dice! It is now squeaking more than ever and when I turn either direction! Was going to WD40 that steering column but there is a big rubber boot over it. Anyone know how to remove that rubber boot?
  4. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. I've had the car 6 months and have 11,000 miles on it. I can't quite describe it, but this car is the most uncomfortable car (steering wise) I have ever driven (I've been driving for over 35 years and have had numerous cars). I've noticed that it is difficult to drive one-handed, especially with one hand centered on top of the steering wheel - tt takes quite a bit of effort to turn (anyone else notice that). Also, there is a very slight shimmy in the steering? I haven't mentioned this to the dealer yet since I'm sure they will say I am imagining things. Could this be related to the electric steering on the car. Thanks
  5. guys please help, I am thinking of buying 2012 ford fusion hybrid and the steering is way heavy and has no center feel to it since I took it. yesterday I went to scan codes it came up with this: U0100 CMDTCs lost communication with ECM/PCM A U2101 CMDTCs control module configuration incompatible and it has 2 fault codes for the PSCM-power steering control module . any body please help is it expensive to fix?? the car isn't under warranty,it has only 200miles on it. warranty has been cancelled due to an accident,i bought it that way... please have a look at the pics of the car when it was hit. im getting the car fixed.i have no idea what has been fixed or replaced . all I know that it is a brand new one and the doors have been replaced.
  6. I'm less than impressed with the steering wheel in my new HyTi. It is leather wrapped and all, but feels too thin in my hands (and my hands are not too big..).. There small areas on each side that are thicker which is where I guess most people hold the wheel as they drive. I would swear that the steering wheel on the car I took out for a test drive before I bought mine had a better steering wheel (more substance to it). Here's a pic. IS this what the HyTi should have installed?
