  1. I think it looks so much better in your "shopped" photo. Good job by the way! Now that I have seen it centered, the offset one bugs me all the more. What a huge difference that makes.
  2. I agree about the Ford emblem. It looks out of place because it's not centered on the grill. If it were mine, I would definitely move the emblem a bit lower to the center. Also, I'm not sure how well that whole thing goes with the cheapo plastic honeycomb black fog light surrounds. Honeslty, I don't know if I like this or not.. Whats important is that YOU like it.
  3. "Lighten up Francis" It's a good group here and people generally try to help one another, no one trys to do that harder then BBF. I see you haven't posted much so maybe you're not around much either so listen and learn. Please do contribute when and if you can and remember no question is a dumb question. It's a good place and I myself have learned allot by visiting here.
  4. WOW, you do pay attention! You have me pegged! Thanks for explaining the answer about the HVAC and remote start. Glad to hear it works that way. Anyway, I should be able to order around mid February and have to see if all the Ford options and packages will be available to me vie our process. I am worried that the Appearance package may not be an available option through my Company which will leave me with a big decision of either SEL V6 with standard suspension & wheels, or go for a stripped down Sport model (because I refuse to pay for the electronics package) which will leave me without power passenger seat, no heated mirrors, no heated seats and no ambient lighting too. Anyway, that's my latest concern although premature I know. If that happens though, I'm leaning towards the SEL V6 and I may simply dress her up with new 17" wheels. Time will tell (soon!) Thanks BBF, your a good egg if you haven't been told that before. :shift:
  5. I was just pointing out that you "should" use the compressor periodically to keep it lubricated, not to imply or suggest that I recommend leaving it set to "auto" for that sole purpose. My question is this: You park the car for the night in cold weather. Can you leave the climate control turned to ON (not auto) when you exit the vehicle the night before so that when you hit the remote starter the next morning, it heats up the interior for you? Or, does the system require to be turned on manually with each start up? (Unless on automatic) No question about it, I really dislike automatic climate control and dual zone is nothing but a joke in my opinion. There is but one zone and that is the cabin of your car. AND I don't have an owners manual because I am not yet an owner. I will be ordering mine in about one month from today. Lastly, YES, you are quite the comic in a dry methodical sort of way... :hysterical:
  6. BUT- It is also good to cycle the air conditioner compressor from time to time throughout the winter, spring and fall to keep it lubricated anyway. So that is not totally a bad thing (leaving it set to auto that is.). Question, Can you leave it set to a manual ON position for heat and / or defrost? I myself would rather use it manually anyway as I have always hated automatic climate control in cars. I alswys remember having a windshield fog over quickly and couldnt get the defroster to react fast enough because it was set to auto.
  7. From past owner reviews I've read, the Silverstars are nothing more then hype and expense with no real improvement in light output. So why bother I ask. I haven't read one review from anyone who actually said they ever saw an improvement.
  8. But with 'remote start" you car interior should be all warm and toasty inside anyway. Just remember to leave the heater (and / or defroster) on high before you shut the car off the last time you use it. The heater will warm the entire cabin to include the seating surfaces. Turning on the heated seats once you get into the car is just an added nice perk!
  9. That's a misprint on the Ford website. It says that about all the Fusion models (standard) but it's not. Besides, the Appearance Package is not even available on the Fusion Hybrid. It's only available on the SE and SEL models only. Ford does a lousy job maintaining their websites. They still have discontinued colors shown and old photos too. Pretty poor since websites are meant to be easily changed and dynamic. Ford gets a failing grade in this regard...
  10. Why not simply try changing to a better set of tires for your car first? Get away from those "LRR" low rolling resistance type tires and get something else. I agree with allot of the comments here that your tires are probably the number one item to look at, even before doing shocks or struts. Yea it'll cost you a few $ and a few MPG too, but not many. You mind find the trade off to be well worth it. Go to tire rack and plug in your stock size and then read the reviews for road noise and comfort levels. Each tire there has those ratings given by other purchasers. I myself also look closely at a tires "wear rating" too and I always look for tires rated at least 700 when possible. Anyway, I think changing tires would definitely change your ride quality. I would keep the 17s for now and try new tires first. If you really want to trade your 17s for 16s, try posting that in the buy/sell or swap sections of this forum and the other larger one too: http://www.fordfusionclub.com/index.php I'll bet someone will gladly take your offer.
  11. Yea but good luck cleaning out the suicidal bugs from the plastic "honeycomb" around the foglights...... I hate that sheet........
  12. Please do post some good photos once you have it installed. Also let us know what you think about the quality too.
  13. I'm just surprised that your Dealer gave you 16" snow tires & wheels when you have 18" on the car normally. I would have thought 17" for snows... Still nice of the dealer to consider snows at all but I guess thats more normal for Canada?
  14. That's pretty "par" for the course. Every time I walk into a Dealership, Ford or other, I know more about their cars then they do.. (Sales dept anyway.) I'm ordering mid February, so maybe I will be lucky enough to actually get an HD enabled radio for my SONY system? I can hope!
  15. Be thankful it's not a GM with Onstar instead. When that trial expirs they actually have one of their sales operators call you via Onstar to talk to you about renewing. They have a direct connection to your ear. I don't think my Daughter renewed though but I'll have to ask her. See the latest commercials with Howie Long explaining to another gut that in the event of a crash, you likely misplace your cell phone etc? (His justification for maintaining Onstar in the vehicle) well what they fail to mention is that if your car's battery gets taken out in the crash, you lose Onstar anyway. So it's a crapshoot in a major collision anyway. Can't wait to get my Sirius 6 month trial as I never had Sat radio. It would have to be awfully cheap though for me to keep it.
  16. Well said because you can't add it before hand without a TON OF MONEY either. Ford requires you to buy the "Elecronics package (BLIS bullchit, back up camera etc.) before you ever pay for the NAV itself. Between the Electronics package and the NAV screen, you're talking $2,700 more (list) to the price of the car. That's not chump change..... You gotta really want the NAV screen to pay through the azz like that....
  17. Well it was my Birthday yesterday and my wife gave me a big box containing the complete set of Weathertech Floor Liners in Black! Now I just need the car!!! :shift: LOL (Ordering in mid February) I have to get the Fusion now as I alreay got the floor mats. Black on Black w/ Black Mats....
  18. The photos have been posted here: http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?/topic/3031-2010-fusion-photos/ Having seen a Red Candy Fusion one car length away from another in Sangria Red, I felt at times I liked the Sangria better. My wife liked neither, go figure. I still say the Sport Blue has no "pop" to it and looks drab at times. The colors that look good are White (either) Grey or Black in my opinion. Good luck with your selection and choice! There's a color for everybody.
  19. I'm going to see both of these colors today at a nearby Dealer where I found they had inventory of both Fusions. Hopefully I can take some better photos and post them for all to see. It's cloudy out today here in NJ but still I should be able to take and post better photos then anything we've seen on the net thus far. (Red Candy Fusion) I myself have never seen the Sport Blue in person on a Fusion either. I have seen it in person (same as Red Candy) but on other Ford vehicles, not on the Fusion yet, so this should be an interesting trip / exercise.
  20. I am ordering soon myself and have ruled out the Sport Blue color. It looks great up close, real close but loses its pop when you walk further away from the car. In fact, it begins to look "drab" (MY OPINION) from any distance away. I also don't care for the Sangria Red and felt it always had a tinge of pink in it. I too was hoping to see a Red Candy Fusion in person and I will make it my mission to scour local dealers (via the web) to find something in inventory to go look at before I myself decide. If nothing changes my mind, I'm going with Tuxedo Black which really is like a dark Charcoal Grey that really pops in sunlight. RED CANDY FORD FUSION SPORT BLUE FORD FUSION
  21. The mirror is mounted to a short arm. Thus, each end of that arm are a separate pivot point. One is where the mirror attaches to the arm and the second is where the arm attaches to the windshield mount. In BBFs example, he refers to the swivel point nearest the mirror itself as the "second" swivel point. Look from outside the car through the windshield if you cannot see / understand this.
  22. I've noticed the price dropped since this new Garmin was first announced. At first, nobody was discounting but now I see it for below $400 already, in the $375 range. I plan to get one of these myself after I order my Fusion, along with a garmin "vent" mount. http://www.gosale.com/4981920/garmin-nuvi-1690-43-wide?gclid=CJjOi6Wg9J4CFdA65Qoddjg2KQ
  23. That's called a "built in" factory blind spot. Next year (2011 model) Ford will be announcing a new elecronic camera that allows you to see around and behind the windshield area that is being blocked out. It will require you to have the NAV screen ($1995 option in 2011) and the extra camera will be part of a new improved "electronics package" that will cost roughly $3,395 in 2011. So if you want to see around the intentionally mis-placed rear view mirror it will cost you about 5 Grand, discounted price when purchased together. Oh and if you are looking at an SEL model instead of the Sport, guess what! If you want a power driver seat in 2011 that will only be packaged as part of the new Electronics Package so be prepared to pony up the full $3,395 to get that feature. For those of you who aren't awake yet or are from a Country outside the US Border, please note this was written in jest, not to be taken seriously and no farm animals or livestock were hurt in the making of this joke.
  24. These are the digatally custom fit "Floor Liners" as available from Weathetech. http://www.weathertech.com/store/product.aspx?ItemGroupId=52 They will hold quite a bit of liquid, mud, rain or melted snow and then are easy to remove and hose off or wash off. I like these better then the heavily grooved all weather mats because having owned those for several years, know they work but also trap dirt that is not so easy to clean off once its gummed up in those grooves. The floor liners look much easier to clean up when you need to. Santa didn't bring me my set but then again my birthday is only 4 days away now too!
