Cargo Area Protector for sale (new)
Rodeo replied to DR SAW's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Not bad except it's only $39.95 and includes free shipping.. So for someone to take it off your hands must want to do you a big favor.... I bid the $39.95 just so you know... -
I am constantly getting about 27.5 combo driving, granted most of that is indeed highway and I can tell you I don't baby my car for mileage. Of course, thats the cars computer giving me that reading and only god knows how accuratre that is. Still, 27.5 is pretty good if you ask me, especially having all the power of the 2010 V6-3.0 as it does. Very happy with the engine performance and mileage. Some of that is due to the 6-speed tranny though, but as a package, it does rather well.

How much leather in the leather seats?
Rodeo replied to noreast's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts & Covers
The leather portions are coated anyway so you only need a general interior cleaner for the seats anyway. The leather itself is sealed so whatever you are using on the vinyl surfaces should work just fine on the seats too. It's really more like Pleather then leather. -
I got my car back from the dealers shop today as well. They had it for two full days. They claim that they were able to replicate my complaint and also said they tried a new car off their lot with the same results. They then called the factory who told them to have me drive the car because the transmission needs to learn. (whatever that means?) I just hope it learns quick before it kills itself or my wallet after the warranty expires and I own this car. They also claim they made some minor adjustments to the tranny and topped off the fluid which they said was a tad low. We'll see how it goes.. They told me to just drive it until the first service interval which is 7500 miles and then see how it is. I hope it gets better because this thing honestly could snap your head back against the headrest when shifting some times and feels like you got hit from behind while sitting still. It's an impressive machine, I gotta tell ya....

My new Milan (3.0-V6) has been giving me problems when cold (if thats possible in the heat of summer?) and could give you whiplash because it over-revs in second and then really slams into third gear, and this without really pushing on the throttle hard at all. Took it into a Mercury Dealer yesterday who said te software was already up to date so they opted to keep my car for a few days to test it. Personally, I feel these transmissions just plain suck as I have also experienced a few times of no acceleration (or hesitation) too. These trannys could be the down-fall of an otherwise pretty good car.

Had a friend of mine use the USB port and cord to charge his iphone and afterwards my SYNC stopped recognizing my ipod. haven't had time to play with it but there is a definite disconnect now....

Who (today) keeps a car for 8 years?? (Nobody I know of)

No MXM4s here! Just took delivery of my 2010 Milan Premier and found it interesting that the OE Tires are Michellin Energy Saver A/S (Green X) tires. I would have thought these would be reserved for Hybrid models but here they are on my 3.0 V6 (Ride quality is pretty good IMO) Energy™ Saver A/S Passenger Car/Minivan Tire All-Season Tires Up to 8% more fuel-efficient than standard tires to save you money EnergySaver Construction™, combined with a special type of tread rubber, keeps the tire cooler - helping your engine to improve its fuel efficiency. Stops up to 8 feet shorter for added safety Silica-based unique tread rubber compound provides all-season traction and no-compromise stopping performances to keep you safe without trading fuel efficiency. Reduces CO2 emissions as much as planting 40 trees Lower rolling resistance requires less effort from your engine and helps reduce harmful CO2 emissions from your vehicle. -

Try a "Shout" wipe. You won't over saturate the spot using a pre-moistened wipe and Shout works pretty well. Should be perfect for headliners.

Google is great, isn't it! Yesterday I googled how to transfer all my stored waypoints from my old Garmin GPS to my brand new Garmin GPS and that is something you will not find instructions for at Garmin's website. Yea I had to download some software but the instructions I found had me all done in under 15 minutes. Love googling problems...

30 psi OK but 25 and 20 psi especially is going to affect handling without question. That could even be dangerous if you ever need to maneuver in an emergency.

That's nothing!~ I just took a 1000 mile trip in a brand new spanking Milan with the 3.0 V6 in it and averaged 27.6 MPG with the stereo blasting and the a/c running full time. Not too shabby considering I had all the power I needed and I'm not a light-foot by no means. Just wait till that motor actually gets broken in!! :shift: :hysterical:

Just did a 1000 mile business trip and didn't notice any fluctuations. I listened to Sirius most of the time and occasionally to my ipod via the USB connection and sync. Something like the fluctuation you described would drive me nuts, especially in a new car and really especially in a new car I paid good money to upgrade the stereo in, (which is definitely over-hyped as far as overall quality and power too.) I think they're doing away with the Sony system for 2011 according to the 2011 order guide.
-
Ditto! I wanted the old merlot color and was disappointed it was no longet available for 2010 wheh I ordered mine a few months ago. It figures that a nice new similar color is coming out for 2011. Oh well, I'll be ready for a new car just about when Ford does a total redesign again which I heard is in another 3 years?

Tires don't state "running pressure" they state the "maximum pressure" and are rated for their speed rating, knowing they will heat up and increase in pressure as you drive. The maximum pressure is not the recommended running pressure and that info is typically specified by the car manufacturer and in the case of Ford, put right on the door sill in plain view. The recommended pressure assumes the tires will heat up and increase on their own, so no need to compensate and deflate for heated expansion pressure. it is this fluctuation in pressure that causes more wear then had the tires remained constant and that's one reason why inflating with Nitrogen is so beneficial. Nitrogen filled tires will reduce heat and keep pressure constant, prolonging tire wear and lessening chances of blow outs too. Not to mention an inprovement in fuel mileage as well. Tires should never be adjusted hot or warm even.
-
I am running 35-36 psi in my Milan and that's a few pouinds above the recommended 33 on the door sil. I ran the same tire pressure on my Ford Escape in Continental tires and they wore like iron, getting over 60K on them before I replaced them (just becuase I could, not because they need to be.) They still had lots of legal thread left and the wear was even. I think a few pounds over prolongs tire life, not hinders it.

Yea, I did the same. My interior is two tone dark grey and beige and the floor in the car is grey. I went with black liners too and they look good and blend very well. The grey liners may have been too light of a grey. By eye, the black matches up pretty well although by photograph the camera seems to see a bigger contrast. The interior grey is closer to a dark grey. I relly like the coverage you get with the Husky liners, especially on the driver side up under the pedals. Wish I had known this before I bought the Weathertechs.
-
fusionff, How much were the Husky liners? What made you get black in a beige interior? Do they come in other colors? They definitely look like they have much better coverage though. But yea, they look like they'd be harder to get out to clean again without spilling the contents too. Looks like Weathertech can learn a thing or two from Husky.
-
I'm not so sure about all that. I host all my photos on www.photobucket.com (for free) and post the links here and can post as many photos as I want here. Where are you hosting your photos?

Car looks Great! Covers are a great addition to it. Where did you get the Hood Bra? Please post a photo of the car head on so we can get a better picture of that new grill too. Nice job!

I think they took a quick lesson from Toyota and didnt want any potential problems or claims of stuck accelerators due to moving floor mats. One button can act as a pivot point, but two buttons will firmly hold the mat straight and in place. I myself think this is important however the Weathertech Floor Liners are so molded to the shape and contour of the floor, I doubt it will ever move out of place. I just wish it had more floorboard coverage over the "dead pedal" area on the left as others here have mentioned. You can see in my photos above how prone it will be to get grit and slush over the top and behind it with your left foot. maybe the Husky liners are better in this regard? Let's see what FusionFF says when he gets his Husky liners delivered.
-
Actually, I had that backwards. my new 2010 Milan came with TWO buttons to hold the mat in place and my new Weathertech Liner only had ONE and didn't line up. - - (I am simply amazed how much "dirt" a camera can pick up that the human eye fails to see. I was shocked to see all this dirt on my new floor liners already. maybe a camera just magnifys it or something....) I'd love to see decent photos of the Husky Liners. Do they offer better coverage??
-
I got the Weathertech floor liners and I love them so far. The only problem is the original floor mat had only one hook on the floor and the weathertech came with two holes for hooks and neither line up so it's unusable that way. (WRONG- see below post!) To me it doesn't matter though because the liner itself fits like a glove and isn't going to move anywhere. You can kind of see by the picture I took just how well (and snug) these liners fit. My only other observation is that I wanted to lay the stock carpeted mats over the top for better comfort and appearance but the stock carpets slide around really bad on top of the liners. I would love to find some carpeted mats that will actually grip to the liners slippery plastic surface so that I could use them 2 or 3 seasons out of the year. If anyone has a non slippery carpeted mat that works, please do let me know what brand and model to get.

A fellow New Jerseyan and member of the Ford Fussion Clud forum recommended that I try "denatured alcohol" which I finally had a chance to do today. Worked like a charm and I had all the gunk off in less then a minute. It's like miracle cleaner after struggling with both "goo gone" and "bug and tar" remover for close to an hour. I'll never be without a can of this stuff in my garage ever again. DENATURED ALCOHOL :happy feet:
