Hate to dig up old topics, but since rates have changed and I am finally actually seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I wanted to see what kind of deal I was getting. Obviously this only really applies to people who have gotten the loan in the past 3 weeks or so or have a current approval that is good for the next 30 days. Bank Of America has offered me 4.56% for 72months +200 loan fee Anyone getting a better deal that could be available? on a side note the car is being purchased in TX but will be registered FL, not sure which state the loan applies to

vschmidt: Go ahead and chalk me up for an ETA delivery date of 28SEP09 (puts me just shy of 16 weeks I believe, ya beat me by a hair) Talked to FCC today and the nice lady told me a build week of 07SEP with an expected delivery between 21-28 Sep I am chomping at the bit to not only get my car, but to fill out my review of my dealer...

Thanks for all of the quick replies everyone. I am a bit more confident about my order after just speaking with a FCC rep who told me it was scheduled to be built 07SEP-14SEP with a scheduled delivery date of 21SEP-28SEP Crossing my fingers this is correct.

I got my VIN finally about 2 weeks ago but my sticker has yet to appear online. Today I started to realize that they haven't even taken my $500.00 deposit from my credit card that I gave them way back in June when I put the order in. Is this normal? For people who have VIN's and stickers, or even a car, do you recall when they actually took the deposit from your account?

800-392-3673 (from fords website under "contact us") I would also tell your dealer you would like a print out of the order verification from ford to prove your order has been verified by them. I ordered mine on the 10th of June and sounds like you are getting the same trouble I have been dealing with.

I assume you at least have a VIN? Has your sticker shown up online yet?

Since my sticker has not shown yet, I gave FCC a quick call today for a status update and here is what I was told. "Schedule to date is 14 Sept" Now, it sounded like the girl was new to the computer system because she could not tell me what "sched to" meant. Do you think it is "scheduled to be built" or "scheduled to be delivered"? I am confused because now all three sources of info I have gotten in the past week have been diff: 21AUG: sales manager tells me that the car is scheduled to be built the first week of September 22AUG: salesman (called me apparently not knowing i spoke with the manager the day before) gave me my VIN and stated it had a build date/week of Sept 7th (2nd week of sept) 28AUG: FCC gives me a "schedule to" date of 14 Sept confusing hu? I can not wait until this hassle is over. The one silver liner is that I know even though my sticker is not showing, I have the correct VIN since the FCC was able to pull up my car correctly with it.

Alright, so I shouldnt be worried that my sitcker is not available yet? Dealer gave me a build date of sept 7th... will be glad when this long wait is over (ordered 10JUN09)

When should your sticker show online after your VIN arrives? I got my VIUN FINALLY from my dealer (told build date of sept7th) but the vin does not pull up a sticker. The link says it is not available: http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.co...ADP0L36AR211696

Found this on youtube if anyone else is wanting to see the med stone interior in the real world. advertisement Pics online to me seem bland and boring. The video however makes it look like a good color scheme with a nice tan leather and stone trim (I was originally worried they trim was too light colored giving it that bland look) Any one elses opinions who have seen the interior in person? Unfortunately no dealer around here has that interior for me to look at. ps click on the posters name and it will take you to the rest of his review (4 parts I think)

I assume your interior is med stone as well... are you happy with it? I saw pics online of the black interior and really liked it and I am now kind of regretting going with the med stone. The pics online of the stone seem kind of bland. Opinion? I really liked the idea of a nice tan interior but with all this time to think, my mind is wavering haha.

I am surprised more and more people are not posting all kinds of pictures with their cars/trim options... it is all those of us still waiting have to keep us going haha. Show those puppies off p.s. black exterior w.med stone leather interior much appreciated :)

I won't lie, I have been searching other possible cars as well but according to most reviews, the FFH is the better car. As much as I hate being jerked around and would LOVE to hurt the dealership sales by cnx, I realize in the long run I will be the one without my FFH and ford will be the one selling it at a higher price to some customer who walks in the door. So, for now, I sit and wait. p.s. I searched practically every zip code within a 6hr drive and not a single one had a black FFH 502A package w/ med stone interior. (well I searched the major zip codes that is). IF I did find one then the hard part would be them selling the car for 29950.00 like my dealer instead of the sticker which is about 33000.00

I think the credit applies to the date the car was purchased, not ordered. Could be wrong, but that is the info I have always gotten

That was what I was referring to, thanks. I just realized that they took the credit from owed taxes without considering how much I paid.

I have dug a little deeper in to this tax credit and have one major question that will definitely affect my purchase: If at the end of the year I do my taxes and I have withheld 6k, but only owe 2k, the govt returns me 4k. Since I received a return, am I not eligible for an additional 1.7k return from my hybrid purchase? A lot of stuff I am reading online makes it seem that a credit is only to reduce the amount you owe the govt, not to increase the amt the govt owes you. Has anyone talked to a tax professional about this?

Spoke with my dealer again last night and apparently last week they were full of crap AGAIN. They claimed that when they told me it was being built this week, it is what they were told, but that their "rep" was not right. Anyway, now the GM said that it is scheduled, but did not know an exact week yet. He told me if I did not have it by the end of sept they would cover the diff when the gov tax credit drops from 1700 to 850 (correct?). I asked for any other discounts and he said for my price of 29.5k for a 502A +powercode, they would rather I back out instead of them dropping the price at all. If I drop out now, I will potentially not be able to get such a low price and deff wont be able to get one before the end of Sept to take advantage fo the gov credit... guess I am still in for the wait.

Ditto. I don't even have my FFH yet and am also looking for a way to plug the front. I asked my dealer when I ordered it built to not include the front bracket but he said since I am purchasing it in TX it has to be put on the order, even though it will be registered to FL where a front plate is not req.

It pays to be in the military. I switched my residency to FL when I was stationed there and now when I buy a car out of state, so long as I do not enter FL with the car within 6 months of purchase, I do not pay tax and pay I think only 10$ to title it. This was a HUGE thing in my favor when they bargained my price and I "neglected" to mention it until they already came to a deal with me (helped me get them 2k under sticker cause they factored in thinking I was paying about 2k in taxes) However, the big problem is if I do buy elsewhere there is no guarantee they will go under sticker like I got here, AND I would not get the 1.7k for hybrid tax credit. So, I went to the dealer in person last night and spoke directly to the sales manager. He said for cut my car right in the middle of production (who knows if that is true or why) and as soon as they noticed it (2 days ago) they re ordered & confirmed/verified the order with their rep. He said they are rushing the order through and it will be built next week with a VIN coming in the next couple days. He told me to expect hopefully no more than 3 weeks at this point... we will see

There is no question about that. If they even hint at the fact I may have to pay more I will throw a fit. As far as I know I signed a deal for just over 29k and that is what I intend to pay. They were pretty vague about what "ford" actually messed up but I have a hard time believing the order ever went in correctly because even at week 7.5 they could not come up with any other information other than "it is in the computer" when most people have gotten VIN's way earlier than that. Assuming I do get the car in 2-3 weeks, I can not WAIT to fill out the dealer survey. ..what are the odds the dealer IS getting my car and now that car sales are up with this C4C deal they are trying to get more money for it while it is in the lot?

Got an "update" from my dealer today. Apparently ford messed up the order somehow and it had to be placed again/confirmed today. Needless to say I was not happy when I heard this especially after they made me feel like I was annoying by stopping in every week to see how it was going when in actuality maybe they could have caught it sooner. Anyway, he said they were going to get it built next week (still confirming if he actually meant BUILT next week vs in the computer for future build). I told him if they couldn't have it by the end of the month I wanted to cancel and will go elsewhere since I am moving in about 2 months anyway most likely to CA. I will get my update again next fri....
