  1. I apologize in advance but I didn't have the time to extensively research how to properly store the car for months at a time when it will not be driven. I found out last minute that I will be leaving the states for 6-7 months and I am looking for a guide on how to prep the car to sit in the garage for that time period without being started. any links to a guide or tips would be greatly appreciated. I assume I should just get the hybrid battery to a full charge and then disconnect the 24v battery. Is there more to it than that? Thank you in advance for any help.
  2. Thanks for the references. First one is slightly different as mine does not randomly blare music, just randomly silences it (lucky for me I guess) and I can still operate all other controls not pertaining to volume. 2nd one however is very close to my issue. The issue has calmed down lately and 2 possibilities why: 1) when I took it in, although they could not duplicate/fix the issue, they reset the system (which yes, you can do yourself) 2) that same day, I formatted my phone giving it a fresh clean start and re-synced it. *Making sure under bluetooth options on my phone "Media" was not selected (don't use it for that anyway) For reference my phone is the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon I am 90% sure you are right and it has something to do with the bluetooth connection and the phone.
  3. I think that could be it. Any chance you know any specific thread titles? Tried searching bluetooth and audio but get hundreds of results, most dealing with people with general audio complaints or bluetooth quality issues.
  4. Well, took it to the dealership today and got the usual "Could not replicate". I showed the guy the video of it happening and he said unfortunately unless it is happening right there, the computer they connect it to can not tell them what is causing it. Basically I have to hope it gets worse so that I can almost guarantee it is happening at the time I bring it in....
  5. I have the 2010 FFH w/Nav and recently a weird issue has begun to randomly pop up. My audio will randomly cut off as if the volume is on mute. When I try to turn up the volume with either the knob or steering wheel button "Maximum Volume" (the actual words, not max volume bars) is displayed on the nav screen where the volume bars normally appear. Then, about 30 seconds late (no particular time, sometimes more sometimes less) the volume will change depending on how much I turned the knob prior and then freeze at that volume until another random time after another "adjustment request". Turning the car on/off, audio on/off does not seem to fix the problem when it is happening. I took some video of it while the car was parked and will post a link to youtube once I get it posted. Took a video because I know if I bring my car in, the volume will work fine on that day and they will look at me like I am crazy. So, has anyone heard of this issue? **UPDATE** Video:
  6. Just got my letter in the mail from ford about the $200 upgrade... what a joke. Maybe if my maps were 2 or 3 years old, but 1... no way. I guess if I lived in an area that had constantly changing POI's, roads, etc it may make sense. Love the car, love my FFH, but not loving the price for an updated map DVD
  7. Just to throw my 2 cents in... I LOVE the keyless entry. Being stationed on a military base I feel perfectly comfortable just locking my keys in the car when I go in to fly (that way I don't lose them in the plane or in some other city). I just assume I am less likely to have my window smashed on base than in a WalMart parking lot. That being said, I never lock my keys in the car off base.
  8. There is a setting (I cant remember where off the top of my head but dig around) where you set the default to USB/sync (advanced sync mode or something like that) Anyway, while your music is playing, if you ever hit the voice button it will already be directed at the sync menu so all you have to do is say "play ......" Not sure if that is what you were referring to or not.
  9. 105deg for the past week here... I set mine to 75 with 2-3 bars on the fan speed and keeps me cool on my drive home (recirc on) My full routine is: 1) always parked with the sunshade up under the windshield 2) get moving for the first 2-3 minutes with all windows down to get rid of built up hot air 3) close windows, turn on A/C to 72deg, recirc, full fan 4) 2-3 min later set ac to 75 and lower the fan speed about 2 bars each min till I am comfortable (usually end up leaving it about 2-3 bars) *in the end I just adjust the fan speed for comfort level. I have the black exterior w/ tan leather interior & have 30% ceramic tint on all 4 side windows + rear window NOTE: My other car is a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee black/black and let me tell you, the FFH A/C is a godsend compared to my jeeps a/c
  10. Mine does this every once in a while (no clue when or why) but if you turn off the car and turn it back on, everything functions normal again
  11. For all you "Office" fans.... that's what she said
  12. They should raise up and lock up fine. Take a closer look maybe? *Drivers side first, then passenger
  13. Just to add my stats: total car milage: ~5000 long term mpg: ~35.1 mpg (car reads 36 but I keep records at every fill up) Type of driving: -first 2k miles was primarily to and from work which was about a 5mi drive avg speed of 40mph with 4 stop signs along the route -weather was TX winter so got in to the low 40s in the early hours and mid 70's later on -2k mile trip (move) from TX to CA, avg speed 80-85 in TX (gotta love their higher speed limits) and then 70-75 the rest of the way (avg ~36-37mpg on that trip) -Oh, i pumped my tires up to about 39-40psi before the trip to give me an extra mpg or two... noticed it was a little harsher of a drive over any road flaws but not much -last 1k miles have been in CA with a 20 mi commute to work that is 50%@65mph and 50%@35mph with a couple stops for road changes and security gates (military) -I minimize use of the AC and in fact haven't used it much at all since I have only owned the car since late September My overall mpg is slightly lower than I had expected or hoped for when I bought the FFH but I do expect it to get closer to 38mpg now that my work commute isn't incredibly short (on my old commute I would be half way to work before the electric mode was ready) Driving style: I would say I am concentrate on getting the most out of my efficiency without taking it overboard. I don't slam on the accelerator unless I am trying to match traffic joining a freeway, and I don't coast at 47mph on electric if the speed limit is 50mph. I hope that is detailed enough haha. All in all though I LOVE this car. That move from TX to CA was what really showed me how comfortable and great this car is. I did the same drive with my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee in December (unfortunately the military doesn't pay to ship your second car if you are lucky enough to own 2) and the drive was much more enjoyable in the FFH. On that same note though, I think the 502A package was a great purchase because those little amenities are what really make the car a joy to drive. *Edit* The TX-CA trip in my jeep averaged about 17-18mpg according to the car computer (I was stupid and forgot to record mileages between fill ups)
  14. Yes. Mine came with only 1 screw too but after emailing the seller he quickly sent out a couple more. I tired the local HW store but they didnt have any that small....maybe a eye glass shop?
  15. I am in the military and was told the discount did not apply to the hybrid. However, I did receive the college graduate discount.
