  1. Damn! Shoulda checked YouTube, huh? The panel with the Ford logo on it is the one I was questioning. My screwdriver was too small, tho. And I had no clue on the battery number. Thanks a ton!
  2. Started getting the low battery message today. Swapped in the spare so I could change the battery. Owners manual has nothing on HOW to do it, only that it should be done. Taking the bayonet key out, there is an area that allows access to the panel that is opposite the buttons. It was rather difficult so I stopped messing with it until I could find out stuff. Do I have to be raked over financial coals at a dealer for this? I have Intelligent Access - just so you know. Thanks!
  3. Sounds like the same crap that happened here a couple months ago or so. Hopefully they can get it fixed.
  4. Article has full list of potentially impacted vehicles - some Fusion/MKZ models in the list.
  5. This place was screwed up before that ... all text being crammed into the frame at the left where your stats are. THEN there was some sort of server glitch that I got messages about. I almost wrote it off until it was back yesterday or so. No idea other than that ... and no idea who the hell we should contact when things go wonky again. MWR noted the all-in-one-frame issue some time ago ... no one responded.
  6. If it sort of took over everything, then that's why I don't use it. His description of what it does sort of turned me away from it.
  7. <sarcasm follows> Fusion is dead ... why not an owner-based help board, too? <big sigh>
  8. It's server side and an admin or network guru will have to fix it. It's damn-all frustrating.
  9. LVB is not being properly charged/maintained by the system/HVB getting discharged at fast rate ... dealer says unknown time in shop ; loaner/rental at my cost. Only way I can keep the vehicle from being dead is to run it after about 12 hours of sitting to keep it from dying. My wallet is not Ft. Knox. Also drivers seat material splitting on door-side bolster. My desire to get another car has been building ever since Ford decided to pull passenger cars from production. Accord and Camry seem to have best owner satisfaction. There are some review issues I want to check before deciding.
  10. Not familiar with the charging system issue. Fill me in please? BUT ... I'm looking elsewhere - at hybrids. Right now it's either an Accord or a Camry. I'm leaning toward Camry but who knows?
  11. All you ever wanted to know ... right here: https://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/8437-all-from-dealer-method-for-obtaining-spare-tire-with-research-notes-and-installation-tips/ I bought the new stuff with my '15 FFH and it all fit perfectly. They changed the well some for '20 (and I assume '19) which makes it slightly problematic fitting the tire in due to the HVB case bolt changes they made. There's one that stops the insertion of the spare itself. For a lot less expensive method, go to a salvage yard and see if you can get all the pieces from a 2013+ ICE Fusion. That's mentioned in the thread as well.
  12. I found all that out when exploring settings. Didn't know of the difference in reaction time, tho (never use it). My brother did try it on his '13 FFH - with his wife in the car - hands off the wheel, ;letting the car just keep things centered. She tweaked - not knowing he was gonna do that. <grin> He did tell me that the vibration alert can be defeated if you are truly changing lanes. It will vibrate but if you use the turn signals, it seems to go away until in position again. Like I say ... I haven't tried LKA so if someone brave wants to test this, go for it!
  13. I'd like a pop-up .50-cal to use on the tailgating pickups around here. Seems the bigger the rig, the closer they wanna drive. But that DB-5 sure sounds nice! šŸ˜„
  14. A recent Sync update bricked my bluetooth. I had to delete the phone from the car, delete the car from the phone and go thru the pairing again. Royal PITA
  15. That button should be working. Yes.
  16. Yup ... that's the button! It should display a green "Eco" below and slightly right of the speedometer. If you are pressing it with no change, dealer is the way to go.
  17. When I needed a new one, I went to the local Goodyear and had them order and install it.
  18. After seeing this, I think I should clarify my remark about suspension work going to dealer. I would do it except I'm mid-70s and not really up to crawling around underneath a car any more (d**mit) but most of all my parking spot is unsafe - sloped toward rear AND right side when parked nose in. Not safe.
  19. big items ... transmission work, suspension work, <smarta$$> ashtray is full and gotta trade in <end smarta$$> Basically stuff I wouldn''t/couldn't do on my own even when I was working on my own stuff.
  20. I'm with Waldo on this. The big milestones are dealer, but things like oil, etc I take to my mechanic.
  21. I've had a '15 and a '17 FFH prior to the current one. I've noticed nothing as you report. Have you had it checked? Maybe an O2 sensor or something might have that effect. Just skulling on that one - I stopped doing my own maintenance when computers took over.
  22. My mechanic also said the same thing .. the brakes should get servicing about every 2 years. They dismantle it all, check wear, relubricate where needed, etc. I plan on doing it in Spring when I put the summer tread on.
  23. it's in a foam assembly setup under the trunk floor panel. on my prior FFH cars I used a compact spare and just put all the mobility stuff in the garage. My 20 prohibits usage because of changes in the HVB cover screw locations and the well itself.
  24. Lane keeping could have been accidentally activated if the button on the end of the turn signal stalk was pressed (this is a toggle - press again to shut it off). You can tell if it is active in the left screen by a top-view car outline with vertical lines to left or right. They'll be green if it is on and you are within your lane properly (as determined by the car). According to my brother who tested it out on his '18 FFH, it does vibrate ... but he stated that using turn signal when changing lanes prevents the vibration. I've toggled it on and off but do not use it.
  25. I have a battery that I got 1 year ago. It has been dead twice so far ... to the point I carry a jump pack with me. Dealers around here will not provide loaners - rentals, yes - loaners no. So to put my car in the shop for an indeterminate time to sniff out a gremlin is not financially right IMO. The battery this one replaced was the OEM unit and only 3 years old - deader than a door nail. So it's not just older FFH but ones with 50K or less miles.
