  1. For me it was, I just had to have one! I was driving a 2010 Sterling Gray FFH. When I saw the Ruby Red FFH in advertisements, it was love at first sight. I waited until the 2010 was 3 years old and had 65,000 miles on her in December of 2012. I was at the dealer getting some minor work done on the 2010 when I first saw Ruby in the showroom. Luckily she had all the add-on's I wanted, which was everything, I took down the VIN number drove home, looked up the VIN number on the web. I downloaded the window sticker, sent it to my friend at Autoland. I told her the dealer's name and this was the FFH I wanted. This was a Monday, registration was issued 12/12/12, by Friday the 14th, I was the happy owner of a brand new 2013 FFH.
  2. SoCalFusion Thank you for working this out and posting it. I just got back in from re-pairing my iPhone per your directions. It works! Now I don't have to pull over to get messages. You still can't send but that is another issue. If you push the right OK button the message is spoken over the car speakers. Really neat.
  3. Took a 195.7 mile round trip today from LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) to Beaumont, CA. Got a average of 45.2 MPG The first screen shot is going to Beaumont, CA which is at 2,500 ft altitude. This is why I believe the mileage is just at 40 MPG which I thought was great. I set the ACC at 65 MPH using ECO Cruse. The more I use the ACC the more I really like it. My 2010 FFH had conventional cruse control and didn't use it much except for long open roads. This second screen shot is returning to LAX, again setting the ACC at 65 MPH. We're now going down hill. This 3rd screen shot is average for the 195.7 miles The 2013 FFH will do what's advertised when you let it do it's thing without over thinking it.
  4. I'm going away for 9 days and leaving the 2013 FFH parked in the garage. The 12 V battery was replaced on 4/11/13 and I haven't gotten the battery saver message since. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to put a trickle charger on the LVB, just because. I know when the car is off there are systems on standby waiting for a touch, B pillar key pad, a key placed in the ignition, etc. I don't know what the power drain is waiting in standby. I think I will anyway, I don't want the hassle of having a dead battery when I get back.
  5. For all those questioning EPA vs actual real world MPG, Hybridbear wrote a great article regarding this subject, it's a good read. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/5923-how-ford-achieved-47-mpg-in-testing-and-why-you-cant-in-the-real-world/
  6. I had the same issue with the LVB. Battery Saver was coming on each time I put the key in accessory or pulled the key. I took the car to the dealer they were puzzled. The dealer reset the BS system and it was okay for a week then the same thing started happening. I asked him to research the problem. He called me after a week and told me Ford had a batch of bad batteries as others were complaining about the same thing. The battery was replaced almost three weeks ago under warranty and I haven't had the BS come on since.
  7. Update regarding the clicking noise. I just spoke with my Service Advisor regarding the clicking noise. He tells me that Ford is aware of the clicking noise and Ford has a fix in the works. He spoke with his Field Service Engineer and was told testing was underway. They're testing different things. I'm just passing this on to provide some hope to all with this problem. This is all I know for now. I'll update when I know more.
  8. I think I gave some incorrect info regarding my clicking noise, what was replaced was Axle Shaft, right and left. DG9Z-3B436-E DG9Z-3B437-C The noise did go away for approx 1200 miles, I checked over and over, it's returning. I took the car for a quiet ride this morning, no air, no radio, quiet smooth road and heard the same noise, not as severe but nontheless returning. It's about the same mileage that I first heard/became aware of the clicking noise.
  9. Update to this topic. It's been two weeks since the 12v battery was replaced and no BS notices. Changing the battery seems to have solved the BS problem.
  10. The noise I heard came from the front right and left equally. The tech that drove with me heard this also. The noise was three distinct clicks on acceleration then three clicks on deceleration using brakes, from both sides. This was not hard acceleration or deceleration. I didn't make any difference if it was just the traction motor or the ICE was running. Some cold mornings the ICE was on due to cabin heat needed, then later in the day after things warmed up it would make the same noise just using the traction motor. This makes me think it's clearances being taken up on acceleration and released on deceleration. Just my observation and thoughts.
  11. Short story on cracking noise. Started hearing/noticing cracking noise around 1000 miles. Brought to dealer, inspected wheels and spindles. Re-torqued front axle spindles noise didn't go away. Packed spindles with heavy grease, noise did go away for one week. Noise returned, I just drove the car with the cracking noise for several thousand miles hoping there would be witness marks that the tech would be able to see when inspected. Returned car, re-inspected axles, no witness marks, the dealer ordered new spindles, two weeks later the dealer called that the parts were in. Replace the spindles at approx. 3000 miles, now at 4100 miles the noise is returning. I was at the dealer today, I think Ford has stopped throwing parts at the problem hoping something sticks, I don't think the problem noise is dangerous so I'll keep driving, checking this forum and keep in touch with my dealer. I still like the FFH and will continue to enjoy driving it, hopefully something will happen soon.
  12. Thanks GrySql for the P/N's for the spare wheel and tire. You and I are at the same dealer and have the same Service Advisor. I have the same clicking problem as you. They already changed the spindles 800 miles ago, now at 4000 miles the noise is coming back. I've been there so many times the EV+ indicator comes on. Still love the 2013 FFH though. My last car was a 2010 FFH.
  13. With my experience using the iPod and hearing the double buzz when I open the door, I believe the USB port is dead until the door is opened...so no voltage drain until the door is opened.
  14. After reading the new posts this morning, I went out to look into the car and see if the indicator light was on on the 12v to USB power adapter, it was off. I opened the door the light stayed off until I turned the key. After turning off the engine, leaving the car and locking the doors, the light on the 12v port stayed on, I kept checking every 10 minutes, after one hour the light finally turned off. I use an old iPhone as a iPod and it is continuously plugged into one of the USB ports in the center console. When I get into the car I can hear the double buzz when the power is applied to the iPhone, this is before I turn the key, so I know this port is dead until I open the door. I also noticed that the 112v power port shuts off as soon as the door is opened.
  15. With my 2013 Fusion Hybrid I had been having the same battery saver messages appear and two weeks ago it happened every time I put the ignition in accessory or pulled the key. The dealer had been trying to find a solution and was puzzled. I tasked my service advisor to find a solution. One week later he called me and told me to bring the car in to replace the 12 V battery. This was after the battery checked out from previous visits. He spoke with the hybrid tech at some length, the tech had learned that replacing the 12 V battery was the solution. It's been one week since the replacement and the problem hasn't repeated. I hope this was the final cure.
