  1. The tray in our center console stays in place, holds coins and is readily accessible. I just emptied most of the change out of it today.

Does your tray have a coin holder?

Does it only fit at the very back of the compartment because of the notches?

Well mine is always falling over into the main box. Call me fumble fingers

  2. Wait a minute, don't wimp out on us now. LOL When you get close to 0 miles put a two gal gas can in the back and run her dry. With any luck you will be able to EV to a gas station, if not you got your two gals. BTW it probably will happen going down hill, you have more EV range that way. Things to do when you run out of gas, look and see how much HVB you have. Look for a gas station and if it is close EV there. If not then find a safe place to stop and put the gas can in the car. Amazingly you can actually run the HVB down to the point it can't go EV any farther and still put gas in it and the ICE will still start instantly. :) :shift:

It has a separate battery for starting the ICE, good thinking!

  3. First of all I must say: I absolutely LOVE my FFH! But there is one, and only one design flaw: the center console change tray.

It does not Stay in place!

It does not hold my change!

It is impossible to access where it is supposed to sit!

    It is poorly designed!

So does anyone have a fix or substitute for this, the only flaw in an otherwise perfect vehicle?

  4. As a pilot I would like the manual to give real numbers, not numbers that include a fudge factor, but with cars going to idiot lights instead of real gauges; I am used to it I guess.

I have noticed when I get down to less than 40 miles to empty, my tank wil only accept 10.5 to 11 gallons of gas. So I could probably drive to ZERO miles to empty and have a 1 gallon reserve!

It would be interesting to see if the miles to empty will go to negative numbers

  5. I don't know about all the marketing stuff. I would have never bought a hybrid. I thought maintaining a gasoline engine and an electric system would be a pain in neck. I'm amazed how many people think I'm trying to make a political statement by driving one. Then I started driving my sisters Milan Hybrid and eventually bought it from her estate. I can't say enough good about it and have probably influenced more people to consider a hybrid than the tv commercials.

I bought one for my daughters first car (an 03 Prius) and enjoyed it so much that I got myself a 2014 Fusion Hybrid. I am LOVING it.

BTW my TR7 saved my life, built like a tank.

  6. Hello all-

I've been reading through some of the threads here and decided to become a member of the forum. I love my FFH, and have been a little disappointed with the mpg. I had the 13B07 upgrade, but I'm not sure if it totally took. I average about 36 mpg, but do most of my driving - about 75% on the highway at speeds between 70-73 (NorCal drivers go fast!).

The sales rep said that the car would take about 10k miles to really break in, but I'm at 6k right now and haven't seen any changes.

Is is possible for the upgrade to only partially take? I do get into EV mode only on downhill portions over 70 mpg, and it drops out as soon as the road flattens out.

Also, I probably haven't been driving the way I should - at least according to the other threads - should I do the battery disconnect so the the car can adapt to a better driving style?

Finally, has anyone had an issue with the plastic piece above the passenger side visor falling out? That happened really early on and I need to remember to have the dealer fix it.

I look forward to being a member of this community and learning how to drive more efficiently. I'm jealous of all of you getting over 40mpg - I've yet to see it on my car, even around town:(

btw, we've had the car since June.

I am a new owner myself, with just over 1000 miles. I found turning my AC temp UP to 74F helped a lot and I had had it set on MAX AC just turning the fan speed down when the car cooled off.

I now frequently get in the 50s some legs and high 30s on others. My combi mpg is now 40.9 mpg. When I get my third fill up I will know better.

  7. I have push button start with the Intelligent Access key.

Are there any other keys that will work with the IA system?

What I mean is a key that just has a chip in it with no push buttons or battery, that can be placed in the compartment in the console and used to operate the car. The glove box key that came with the car would be exactly what I am looking for if it only had a chip in it.

I have the switchblade key, could anyone post a photo of the IA key for me?

  8. I'm trying to achieve a small thin fob that can be used to operate the car for emergency use and as a programming backup if an IA key got lost. If the battery in an IA key dies it still works in the center console because of the RFID chip.

I looked on the post with Acronym definitions and did not see one for MPGe this must refer to a plug in car but, how is it computed? Can you point me to a thread here?
