This is not a question of do you like the car, or like all the bells and whistles (who doesn't?) Instead, the query is about IS THE CAR FUN TO DRIVE? Do you like the way it corners. Does it inspire confidence? Do the brakes let you take it a little further into the turn before braking? My wife, who years ago, said "driving a car is not supposed to be fun" started changing her opinion with the Mustang GT. Now, with this Fusion, she actually volunteered, very early on, that it was fun to drive this hybrid. Imagine, a hybrid that is fun to drive! It's quiet, rides firmly, stops quickly, and corners well. Turn in is sharp, steering is quick, and the ride is solid. What do you think? Does the Fusion stand out as a driver's car for you?

Well, I don't know about the most popular, but the Best is the Ice Storm - Sorry to the rest of you! Honestly, I love the Bordeaux and the black also, plus the white- how the h--l did I ever decide?

OK, What is the toggle on gearshift for in the hybrid?

I love that we are anxious to try out things on our new hybrid. Ford has put so much on these that it takes quite some time to understand everything. -
Great info. Thanks for posting this. I will give it a try today.

Love the car. Everything about it screams quality, and the mileage is not disappointing. Bought a hybrid for good city mileage, which this one gives, and as a bonus got a great handling vehicle, with tons of features as well as a very comfortable cabin.

Yes, in fact right after I tried it, once down and once up the window functioned normally. Appreciate the follow up. Love the car, and can't wait to drive it. Of course here (SC) the weather is beautiful so I have to choose between it and my convertible Live is tough. haha

Well, I have to admit I did have to, and was lucky enough, to take an early retirement, at which time I was free to move. Howsoever, I love the heat, humidity is very high, but have adjusted to it, and have a convertible to help me enjoy the warm weather. Don't hate on me- at least I'm not threatening to name my new fusion! Haha

In contrast, when I drove the Camry Hybrid the dealer had a lot of bad to say about Ford, especially the SYNC compared to the Toyota. I found the new Camry no where near as easy to drive, and in fact the handling felt numb. it did have good pickup, and the transitions were ok, but more noticeable to me.

OK, stop playing with the toys! Man, that is hard to do. Better to play when stopped tho. Love all the info and adjustments!!

Do what I did Hybridbear- move from Mpls to S. Carolina! No cold weather starts, no need for a heater (maybe 2 or 3 times a Winter), just lots of air conditioning. Also, don't need rubber mats to protect the carpet. Sound good! I can send you some links to good housing!

So nicely put- thank you for such a thoughtful posting. I too am trying to reach the zen state and find it relaxing to do so. In this car I have a different attitude, and want to drive it differently. I no longer wish to "compete" with other drivers for fast starts or move into different lanes just to maintain the posted speed. Easy does it applies here. BTW, today my 9 mile drive from and to home, at 55 or under returned MPG of 49.8! Average since I got the car is 41.3. I knew that the EPA rating was unrealistic, so I am not disappointed in any way. Plus, this car is such a such a fun auto to drive- it corners like a sports car, the seats are very supportive, the entertainment system has great sound, and my phone has now downloaded my address book! What's not to like?

Already seen a little of that envy. I don't think there is a better looking family sedan. I particularly like the supportive seats, which seem to have the bolstering of a sports car seat. Sure, the trunk is a little small, but the fold down back seats will serve me well. It will take some getting used to when backing the car out of the garage, as it is silent. Even the emergency brake is cool on this car!

I really want nicely carpeted mats, since I don't live in a snow state. Have found some online, but not cheap.

Thanks so much to everyone who shared my excitement! This is a great, supportive and helpful forum. Had no luck finding floor mats at auto supply stores. I remember seeign something abou that in another area of the forum, so will look around some more. The ones that came with are pretty poor quality. Plus, I want to put in grey ones to complement the trim color inside.

I followed the directions in the manual exactly, and it worked fine. Had to push the button in the car that I had programmed twice, as stated in the manual, then it worked.

A quick pic of the old and new in my garage.

Think of how Shaquille O feels on that tiny Buick he says is so nice! Haha

Congrats, and remember my favorite saying for a hybrid "drive smarter, not harder" I am driving my wife nuts (not that far to go) when she drives... Start slower, take your foot off the gas sooner when a red light is coming up, etc... Luckily, she is tolerant!
