I wonder what the BIG RED KILL button on the top of the dash is for? What on earth could the car be doing that requires a kill switch?

Ford dumps MyFord Touch name in revamp of infotainment system
Toz replied to darrelld's topic in News & Reviews
There was an artical on CNN that was quoted as saying that the new system would not be backward compatible. "Because the new touchscreens will include new hardware, owners of the current Sync with MyFord Touch system will not be able to upgrade to Sync 3." http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/12/technology/ford-microsoft-blackberry/index.html?hpt=hp_t4 -
thoes looke nice. I actually wanted black rims, but I couldn't find ones that both me and my wife liked on amazon
-
Thanks, but sooo much easier to keep clean than the stock 8000 spoke 18 in. wheels
-
I don't remember the tire size off the top of my head, but I ordered snow tires that were the same size as a Fusion "s" standard tires and used These Wheels http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003BYQTQG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I couldn't stand the idea of having Steelies on the car for 5 months out of the year

Ok so is this weird? I have a '14 Hy-Ti with 18 in wheels. I bought a set of 16 in wheels from amazon and Blizak snow tires from Costco. Ever sense I put the 16 in wheels on I have been getting about 4 MPH better gas mileage Than I had been getting and I am running the heater now that it is cold. The 16 in. tires and wheels are the same diameter as the 18 in ones. Maybe it's just a glich? Anyway I though it was weird.

My 3.7 update went smooth as well. Does not seem to be much difference that I can see though. Responce speed seems about the same. A few new buttons on the Nav screen, but that is about it.

Tried to download the update on two seperate computers. Shows up as in invalid .zip container so I am unable to retreive the files to put on my flash drive. **EDIT** never mind Third time is a charm. Dowloaded and installed.

When should I order a "custom" 2015 FFH?
Toz replied to Mehcoib's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Well you can never change your oil too often I guess, and I know lots of folks that still change their oil at 3K even though the manual says 5-7K depending on use. Never heard a mechanic tell anyone that they killed their engine with too much fresh oil. -

Toz replied to Mehcoib's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Yup that's what the "engine oil life" status is for. I think it sends out alerts at %25 and %5 of oil life remaining. So while I have no idea why Ford droped the "Life Time summary" I don't see that it has any bearing on remembering when to change your oil. The car keeps track of that all on it's own. Then only thing you have to remember, is to reset it after you change your oil. -
yea, Applink would be nice, but that is actualy old tech that just hasn't been included yet. As far as the the tech not working as it should, this was more of a "I wish / I think they might add this" than "don't add anything else until they get the current stuff working" thread

Toz replied to Mehcoib's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Umm wut? I guess it all depends on what you consider a "real" upgrade. I considered the heated steering wheel, cooled seats, 10 waypower passenger seats and safer rear seat belts to be real upgrades. -
Yup, that makes me nervous as well.

So with the '15 order guide out, it doesn’t look like there will be any new Tech added to the Fusions for at least a year. What do you think the next new optional tech will be? I am hoping that the European “City Stop” (The car can stop on its own at low speed) becomes an option. I live in rural area so I would love it if they added a FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) option for deer spotting. Anybody else see any new tech on the horizon coming to the Fusions?

Well you had and go and say that didn't you? Hello winter of '15 ice age.

Is Medium Soft Ceramic not popular?
Toz replied to DirectorMan's topic in Interior Trim, Seats, Seat Belts & Covers
This is a little off topic, but today was the first day hot enough here to really use the cooled seats. Man that is nice. Keep me from sweating up my MSC seats! -

YES! here is a link to pics of my 14 HYTi with MSC interior <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s1372.photobucket.com/user/capttoz/embed/slideshow/"></iframe> The Seats look lighter than they really are. So far they have been really easy to keep clean. -
well the weather is warmer now, so the heated steering wheel is no longer needed, but man was it nice this winter. Be great if you can add it, but spending more then $500 IMHO would be too much. Maybe if you can do it for > $300? Still looking forward to some nice hot days to see if the cooled seats were worth it.

umm yea, I just meant FFH's at all trim levles. I have no idea about any other brands. Sorry about the confusion.

it's all of the Hybrids. They all have the GPS module. Really like the EV+ feature, makes me wish that I had plug in version. I love driving in EV mode.

I wonder if it's something that they fixed on the job 2 '14's? or is it just random ones that just happen to work?
