  1. My 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium served me well. I sold it two weeks ago as I upgraded to an MKZ. I never had any issues with the car and really enjoyed all the technology it came with and of course, the great gas mileage. That I enjoyed the car so much played a big part in sticking with the same company. After 10 or 11 years with a Hybrid (Camry Hybrid before the Fusion) I decided to go in a different direction this time and got the 400 HP MKZ 3.0 AWD. The MPGs will be an adjustment, but so far I am enjoying the change, although I must admit I cringe when driving in the inner city with lots of traffic lights and the MKZ sits there with the engine running at red lights. But my commute to work is mostly highway, so that helps. I am enjoying the huge trunk and the easy power when navigating the Houston highways. Tech-wise, there aren't that many differences between the 2013 Fusion and the 2017 MKZ. Just a little more refined technology, lots of power options, and an incredibly smooth and quiet ride. Ford got it right with the 2013 Fusion Hybrid.
  2. This is what I just heard from the dealer that services my car. This is not the same dealer where I bought my car. My car has been in once for the A/C issue, where they did the deodorizer ting. I looked over the information and spoke with the techs. They have not performed this TSB on a vehicle yet. We will need to schedule yours in to perform the diagnostics and most likely the TSB. If the vehicle is under warranty and we perform the TSB, I will be able to get you 30.00 assistance per day to go toward a rental vehicle. Let me know what works for you.
  3. Honestly, I was ready to give up on my car. I could not imagine driving all Summer with the stench. It's been a cold winter and cool spring in Houston, so it has't been much of an issue, but the few times I have had to use my A/C. it is worse than ever.

  5. Grey, 7 years with a Camry, I never had this issue. It turns my otherwise awesome car, into something I dread getting into. Winter is here now so it's not as noticeable, but summer is lurking and I expect it will be worse than ever.
  6. I just PM 'd you the information you requested. Not sure why others are so skeptical. I really would like this issue resolved. It makes me never want to drive another Ford again. Good luck with your case.
  7. At this point, i think the fire issue is a bit worrisome. There aren't that many Tesla's out there. I think they plan to deliver a little over 20,000 this year.
  8. I finally took my car in yesterday for the stinky air thing. The night before I could smell the nasty air as i was driving home from work . Unfortunately, the weather cooled overnight, and it was 45 degrees when i took the car in. I could not really smell anything on the way to dealerslhip. Regardless, they took the car in. They say they checked the A/C unit and all was well. The report states there was an odor on startup. Not sure if they really smelled it, but glad they put it in there. In the end all they did was deodorize the car. Smells like roses now :) Of course, that is not a fix and I don't expect it to last.
  9. It looks like the order of the top ten has not changed from 2012. fusion will sell more cars than in 2012, but remains in fourth place, just like last year. From a source on the web last year's numbers ( rounded) were: http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2013/01/usa-december-2012-car-sales-figures.html 2012 sales Camry 405,000 Accord 332,000 Altima 303,000 Fusion 241,000
  10. Not sure what might be wrong with yours. In Houston, mine works great. The sound is awesome in my Titanium Hybrid. My Sirius lapsed for a few weeks and i started listening to FM stations. What a difference in sound between HD and Sirius. HD radio really brings out the sound system. Sirius sound is mediocre at best. The dealer needs to make this right for you.
  11. I do not think it's accurate to say most are getting EPA. If you look at Fuelly, you will see most are not close to EPA. There are many factors in getting great fuel mileage. I am getting my best mileage to date on current tank , 45 MPG according to computer, but probably closer to 43 real MPGs. This is with no A/C, as weather has been great lately. But everyones commute is different. I find it very difficult to get EPA in Houston inner city, which is where I live, but I am still happy with my mileage. On road trips, my mileage is way off EPA. I would have a hard time getting mileage below 40 MPGs with my normal commute. But i would be happy with the mileage you are getting on road trips. That being said, it is entirely possible there is something off with your car. Acdii is proof of that.
  12. I had a few issues with MFT early on, but none since the last update. I also find it quite intuitive and I'm sure I haven't explored many of its functions. My one issue now is the stinky A/C. Other than that, I love the car.
  13. I like the interior, but not the hole underneath between passenger and driver's seat. With three small dogs, that would be a disaster. It's hard enough to keep them on passenger side with the Fusion.
  14. For the past two weeks it has been cool enough in Houston to bypass the A/C. I have been driving with windows and moonroof open for the two weeks and also with the fresh air on with a high fan speed on the climate control. The fresh air from climate control is definitely not fresh smelling, but it has improved. This morning it was raining so I just had the moonroof on tilt and the fresh air on. I can still detect the foul smell, just not as strong as before. I was hoping having the fresh air on with a high fan speed would help or fix the problem. I think it has helped, but it has not yet fixed the problem.
  15. The smell is always there when using fresh air (no A/C, no recirculate)
  16. Houston has a wide range of prices. I paid $3.60 at a Shell on memorial Drive on Saturday.
  17. OK, bad description on my part. I do think there should be an independent review, given how new the car is.
  18. I just ran across this article. Apparently a minor bump in the road caused a major fire in the Tesla. The battery is placed along the bottom of the car and is long and flat. That is probably not a very safe location when you bottom your car out. Luckily the fusions battery seems to be pretty well protected. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/04/business/car-fire-a-test-for-high-flying-tesla.html?_r=0
  19. Here is another way to look at it. Percentage of hybrid sales per month. Fusion Hybrid is pretty steady. Not so the C-Max Hybrid. C-Max Fusion hybrid March. 7.07. 7.38 April. 7.47 8.47 May. 6.68. 6.83 June. 6.43 6.8 July. 4.98. 6.41 Aug. 4.55. 6.97 Sep. 4.24. 6.75

    MPG Happy Talk

Today, I got my best mileage ever coming back from lunch. Going to lunch was 30 MPG, which was better than normal too. Coming back was 89 MPG. No A/C coming or going. This car is a different animal with no A/C. EV+ at work probably helped stay in EV going up the parking garage. It seems like short trips are less affected if there is no A/C.

    MPG Happy Talk

    I consistently see a 2 MPG difference.
  22. C-Max hybrid only sold 1424 units in Sept, down over 40 percent from previous month.

    MPG Happy Talk

Same for me. This week, my commutes have all been high 40s, closer to 50. The key being no A/C use. The Houston Summer has been tough on mileage. Hopefully the cooler weather is here to stay. If I only drove to and from work, my MPGs would be quite a bit higher than they are. It's the short trips on weekends that brings me down.
  24. And the bad press is catching up to Ford. C-Max sales continue dropping, and I wouldn't doubt if Fusions are affected too. http://www.hybridcars.com/september-2013-dashboard/
