  1. Good luck guys.. my ride with my Sylvia has ended.. I now have a brand new '16 Nissan Altima... all the same tech as my FFH, but no more hybrid battery... I will miss all of you, and my beloved Sylvia.. but I had to get something that would start and run... Safe travels, and thanks for the fun.. good luck all!!!!
  2. Nevermind... it died again... I give up... it is back in the shop again.. for same issue.. current dealer (a different one than my original) is also clueless as to how to fix it.. Headed to Nissan Dealership for trade in.. and getting something else... I can't deal with this anymore...
  3. Some of you may remember me from "back in the day"... I've been around these forums on and off for quite a few years now.... Very happy to say that although I recently had a really bad setback with a dead battery issue on my Sylvia ('13 FFH), and was even on the brink of letting her go for a Nissan Leaf (could not make a deal- they wanted too much), after the latest trip to the dealership.. I think they finally fixed the issue!!! Reason I say that is.. my hybrid battery was not flatlined first thing in the morning like it has been for the last several weeks... So looks like I'll be staying with my girl.. and visiting these forums from time to time.. I hope and pray I can get another several great years out of my Sylvia.. Take care and see ya around. Coach
  4. Oh well.. so much for that... The dealership I went to in New Orleans (Premier Nissan) was a complete waste of time... Offered me 13K for my FFH (I wanted 14,500 at least) Then offered 28,500 for an SV (I said 27,000 without incentives) At this point the "salesman" said- "What incentives?" He went back to the sales manager and then came back and said "Oh the manager said he already gave you all those incentives to get to the 28,500... I thanked him for his time, and walked out... Praying to God Sylvia has somehow been healed and I can drive her for another 100K miles or so..!!!!
  5. Cost me over $100.00 for "deductible fee" on extended service warranty to get the "wire module" fixed. I asked the service manager if this would be the last time.. she basically said.. "ah yeah, sure"... :drop:
  6. Well I'm going to go pick up my Sylvia from the dealership today, then after practice I'm headed to the Nissan dealership to see if they will accept my terms for a trade and price on the '16 Leaf SV. I have to tell you, I am sad to be saying goodbye to my Sylvia.. she was THE BEST car I have ever owned by far. She looked absolutely great, she drove like a dream for over 3 years, and her technology was second to none.. but she simply can't be trusted to start anymore, and the dealership seems clueless on how to fix her... This latest "wire module fix" doesn't make me feel to confident, I just see this as an ongoing issue (been over a month now with at least 3 weeks in the shop), and then perhaps an expensive issue as the warranty will expire. But if the Nissan dealership asks too much for the Leaf (I'm really going to low-ball them), I will certainly stay with Sylvia and pray for a miracle to heal her!!! Thanks to all my fellow FFH pals over these last few years for all the help and fun times. I'll let you all know how it turns out... -Coach
  7. They let me take the program '16 Leaf S home for an extended test drive :) Drive was surprisingly smooth and fun. Instant torque is amazing. Very impressed with the vehicle.. this combined with the fact that the dealership just called me and said my car may still not be ready MONDAY??? Has me strongly considering a trade in...
  8. Problem with the volt is I will not be able to deal for it.. It will be another car note... and I'm hoping the Nissan quality will be better???
  9. Going test drive one today... Sales have tanked = hopefully get a deal for a new one for close to nothing w FFH trade in??? Update on Sylvia- they told me they changed a "wire module" and I might be able to pick it up Monday.. well over a week now without my car... *sigh*
  10. Exactly correct DeeCee.. I was gone as my car was absolutely FANTASTIC... until now... I am extremely heartbroken.. and frustrated.. my car is still at the dealership... Wondering if maybe I should take it to a Nissan dealership and "swap it out" for a '16 Leaf????? So scared that this will just continue.. and it will start costing me.. BIGTIME.... BTW there was no explanation of the "water in the connector"
  11. Been having more and more problems with my beautiful Sylvia being DEAD. Started about a month ago... been to the dealership at least SIX times so far for it. 1. Paid $160.00 for a new battery, did not do anything.. car still dead every week or so.. 2. She is as of this morning back at dealership... still no clue what's the problem 3. Have an official case number with Ford Customer satisfaction.. the representative told me they have been having problems with the other Hybrids and dead battery issues. Any suggestions???? Tired of my car dying every other day!!!!
  12. Yeah.. I made a promise to my wife that I would not "baby" her for the trip, or try any "mileage tricks".. so I had to go 75+ and have the A/C blasting :drop: but it was a great trip... she did just fine...
  13. This past weekend we took Sylvia out for her first real extended trip. We made a trip up to Tenn to see some good friends. With the AC set to auto 72 degrees the entire time, and the eco cruise set between 75-78 mph.. here were the results: Best tank- with half of the tank still from driving around here- 43 MPG Worst tank- almost the entire tank spent on the interstate nearly 80 mpg, and then up and down hills of Tenn- 38 MPG Overall.. pretty decent numbers I would say....
  14. thanks for the info... grats on the solid numbers everyone!
  15. Not really, HB. I drive to school for the summer workouts, I drive to the local gym to work out my clients (personal trainer also), and then run errands here and there...but just doing that I still used to have to tank up every week and half to two weeks with the frontier... not anymore...
  16. Here goes- 1. 1976 Toy Celica (sp)- Cat poop green, complete w white racing stripes!!!! 2. 1980 Olds Omega- vanilla color.. tried to kill me.. - another story 3. New 1995 Nissan Sentra- Silver.. paid 7.5K for the ENTIRE CAR!!! 4. Used 2002 Nissan Frontier-last vehicle.. really LOVED MY TRUCK... Some of you guys have had a lot of vehicles!!!!
  17. So I got out of school (thus the "coach" name) at the end of May... and I just did my FIRST FILL UP all summer a week or so ago!!!! So far I have spent a whopping $38.75 in gas ALL SUMMER!!!! I used to spend over $50 every 2 weeks or more!!! Just wanted to share.
  18. Good experience here as well.. put in the address.. and she gets me there.. no complaints..
  19. I'm seeing more and more on the road here and there.. mostly white.. and a few other colors.. but I have only seen one other hybrid down here...
  20. Great topic.. I have only bought (up to this point) non-ethanol gas grade 87..
  21. Just want to know if I am experiencing the norm or if I am the exception. My current Avg MPG reads- 45.4 My current Lifetime MPG reads- 44.8 Interested to hear from everyone else..
  22. One of the biggest reasons I got my FFH is the huge backseat.. my boys are getting bigger and bigger..I wanted great gas.. great tech... and plenty of room in the backseat.. the FFH is bigger than the Sonata as per my research..
  23. LOL.. thanks man.. I love it also!!! BTW.. I'm closing in on another mid to high 40 tank... even in June!!!! I'm doing great, Acdii.. I hope are as well!!! Thanks!
