SteveB_TX Report post Posted May 3, 2014 Well, well, well. Now we have another conundrum. Why do the POI functions work first time, every time for ALL POI categories in our MKZh, but NOT our FFH? I just tested the FFH, and sure enough, it acts just like all of yours. It takes several attempts to bring up Fuel Stations, Restaurants, etc, except Financial, for which it refuses to list POIs! :detective: 1 GrySql reacted to this
IraF Report post Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) I going to give you an update if you can call it an update as to POI's and another problem this is happening in my FFH 2013 I took my car in yesterday (5-13-2014) with regards to the POI's not working properly and also my Front Sensors going off randomly and even when you turn them off, the car puts them back on and beeps randomly like sitting at a red light or in my subdivision where I live in a circle with just trees. Also Verified with other people having front sensors going off.The mechanic could not solve the problems and as far as he could determine there are no cluster software updates for POI's so he sent off 2 emails to Ford and their reply (5-14-2014) was "We are aware of the problems but have no solution as of yet".The poi's bug 181 if you look at one of my links in this section goes back to (9-2013) http://bugs.outofmytouch.com/issues/181The dealer is willing to do anything to fix these problems, but needs guidance from FORD and the service manager suggested that I start a "CASE #" which I have. This case is being escalated with high priority and is going to Charles Salaman who has many resources in Ford, and I have indicated that we are aware of these problems but don't know how to fix them is "Unacceptable" and the Lemon Law will be applied if it can't be fixed. GrySql Report post Posted May 15, 2014 So, the old boiler plate "See your Dealer" answer we often hear doesn't do anything except send messages up the chain of command.Good job escalating this issue, thanks. Sounds like you have a good Dealer and Service Dept. 1 JimArch reacted to this
IraF Report post Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) I have never had a problem with this dealer and they keep up with the technical issues/bulletins and so on, and last year when in this forum the issue came up about how to turn on DRL's they were aware on how activate them and I didn't hear we have to check with Ford or we don't have the resources and if you don't have the resources "Why are you selling cars or doing service work? Just feeble excuses, this dealer just did it "period" and my car was just on the lot and was not a fleet model and in addition I payed NADA, Zilch to have this done.In fact yesterday the service manager indicated well before I/we became aware of these issues, Ford already knew about them. The SM also indicated that I might get a survey on how they performed and Ford considers anything less then a 100% is failure and I indicated that with regards to the service i can't complain because they did every thing possible to correct these bugs, but i will indicate that the problems were not resolved not because of the dealership but because of the higher up's in Ford and will rate them in the negative category. If these problems had "started very recently" then i can understand "We are aware but don't know the fix yet" but these two problems were known for a long time so feeble excuses are just that. http://www.fordescape.org/forum/46873-post2.html 8/5/2013 http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298446 (Watch Video in link) 10/2012 http://www.fordescape.org/forum/engine-technical-discussion/2098-2013-ford-escape-sel-constant-sensor-beeping.html 6/2013 Edited May 15, 2014 by IraF
Sleddog Report post Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) Just finishing up at the dealer for a 10000 mile check. They said I had the nav set to recent instead of current and that's why my right screen POI did not work. I'll be checking that once I get the car back and will update this post, Update: it appears the sync tech misunderstand the issue. I showed it to him. His answer "that's strange". It even worked once. And only once. He says he will have to call the tech line for an answer. Oh Kim! I had an open case for this. How about pushing the buttons you can push to get this fixed. I'm getting a little tired of traveling 80 miles round trip to get work done that does not fix anything. Sleddog Report post Posted May 30, 2014 Got call from Jean at CS. We discussed my options for dealer support. The dealer I've been going to is 40 miles away. The dealer near were I work is now a certified Ford electrical vehicle service center. My only problem with them is they will leave boot marks all the interior if they need to crawl around to access anything under the dash. But they have got to be better than morons that have been doing my service. So we'll see what happens.

Sleddog Report post Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) Here's Ford's party line about the right dash screen POI issue. They are aware of the issue when trying to select a nearby POI from the right dash screen. At this time here's no resolution for the issue. The engineering team is working on a fix. According to Jean, the estimated time for this fix is 90 days or more. She asked me to call her back every 30 days to check to see if there has been any progress. Sorry for the disappointing news. But the interface is Microsoft after all. Now that they no longer support XP, maybe they can get moving on this issue. *sigh* Edited June 3, 2014 by Sleddog 3 acdii, GrySql and hybridbear reacted to this
mrobinso8 Report post Posted June 4, 2014 Sleddog - The interface may be Microsoft but it was Ford that released a vehicle without properly testing all subsystems for use by a normal user. Just my two cents worth.
IraF Report post Posted June 9, 2014 Finally I've heard from the Regional Manager with regards to my CASE# about the POI's not working in the right hand screen and Front Aid Sensors going off randomly, both are known problems to Ford and if one has an open CASE# everytime you bring your car in for service they check to see if your particular car has a service bulletin with regards to problems and fixes (not maintenance) such as mentioned above. In case of my front aid sensors going off the regional manager suggested that I leave my car at the dealership for five days and see if they can recreate the problem with Ford lending me a loaner for 5 days, although there was no guarantee that the problem will recreate itself during that time so I respectfully declined. I guess I will use the bandaid approach for these two problems and hope fixes will come in the near future?
hybridbear Report post Posted August 1, 2014 At the dealer today I tried to show them how this doesn't work and it actually worked!! Well only once in about ten tries but I was shocked that it actually worked!! On our FFH the right dash screen can select "Home" or "Favorites" without issues, but cannot select "POI Nearby" or "Previous Destinations" successfully. All four options work perfectly all the time in the Focus Electric. I hope Ford fixes this soon. 2 GrySql and Sleddog reacted to this

I can't even select Home, it just goes back to the beginning.Hi Barsoom, Log into your account at: www.Support.Ford.com to make sure the latest software has been installed. Did you just notice this issue, or has this been happening since you purchased the vehicle? Kim
gmarshall Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Kim, This is a known problem that many of us have had since day one and the latest software update does nothing to correct this issue. If you could put a bug into someone's ear there at Ford and remind them that this problem still exists and would be greatly appreciated if this could be fixed. It does work on the other Ford and Lincoln vehicles but does not work correctly on the Fusion models. Thanks,Gary
Barsoom Report post Posted October 9, 2014 I noticed it early on, but thought nothing of it. I recently started playing with the dashboard screens and was reminded of it. I usually use the MyFordTouch screen.

GrySql Report post Posted October 10, 2014 I haven't looked at my dash screen for some time but a few months ago I had the FCIM software update that fixed my A/C button, now when the light is out the A/C is actually off.Thinking about the FCIM update I just tried the right dash screen's POI functions. It takes about 4-5 right clicks but eventually I get the local Fuel, Food, etc. data and locations, the last line says to see the MFT screen for more choices and of course they are present on the touch screen. Before the FCIM update no matter how many tries the POI's would never advance to actual locations. After the FCIM update it takes several tries but eventually there is data on the screen. Now the problem is to get a Dealer to actually do the FCIM update, Gkinla is having some trouble with that. 1 gkinla reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted October 10, 2014 The POI issue is not just with the Fusion, the Flex and MKT have the same issue. I could keep hitting the button and eventually get some POI with the right screen in all 3 cars, including the Fusion prior to the FCIM update. I so seldom use it though that I forgot about this bug. I do believe its a timing issue, the nav is expecting something and not getting it in time from the dash.
hybridbear Report post Posted October 12, 2014 It works rarely in the Focus Electric as well. It's not just a Fusion issue.
