Richard Goodwin Report post Posted January 17, 2014 For your issue #19, just a suggestion to cut down the lady's voice:In settings under voice commands, change it to "advance". If you know HOW and WHAT to say, the voice command feature on this car is absolutely brilliant. Agreed in many cases, but there are two egregious situations:1) It doesn't understand me, and gives me a 30 second list of everything I might actually say.2) Certain actions, like reconnecting Bluetooth, gives a very long play by play of how it is trying to reconnect. I think some of this is related to Sync and MFT being a little duplicative, since the information is both on screen AND being read aloud. Anyway, it's a gripe/design change vs a bug overall I guess. Richard Goodwin Report post Posted January 17, 2014 For the Keyless Entry I had major issues with this on my 2013 Ford Escape. On my 2014 FFH its like 100% better. Only have had issues 1 time (knock on wood) For the Steering Wheel Design, see the thread I posted comparing the wheel in the Fusion, Escape and C-MAX on the Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror page, the Fusion by far has the best layout. I'll keep an eye on keyless moving forward, especially after dealer update. I have a Fiesta rental: the console layout is horrendous, BUT the volume controls are on the left of the steering wheel like I expect and it's wonderful :)
acdii Report post Posted January 17, 2014 Sometimes you need to teach Sync to understand you. There is a spot on the system menu where you can train the system. Takes about 20 minutes, but once done, it usually clears up any issues with the system.. In your case though, it is more than likely the system is messed up, and that can cause issues with voice too. Are you sure? On my 2010 FFH, with Sync Gen 1 it had an option to train it (you could train it for 2 different people). Never seen this option in MyFord Touch on my Escape or Fusion. acdii Report post Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) You are right, I just checked and I did not see it listed. I just assumed they would have speech recognition on this one as well since it is Sync and not MFT that uses the voice. Found this, http://billbrownford.net/Vehicle-Orientation-SYNC-with-MyFord-Touch/ Instant Voice Recognition, there isn’t any voice recognition training Edited January 17, 2014 by acdii
Richard Goodwin Report post Posted January 17, 2014 Side note: quite aggravating that the mobile app support stuff is there in the Fiesta with its tiny little dot matrix display, but not in the flagship vehicles. 3 tr7driver, corncobs and acdii reacted to this
Richard Goodwin Report post Posted January 21, 2014 FWIW (and will cross post this to 2014 review thread), all they did was:"recalibrate the PCM"; I asked if there was an update included, and was told "in layman's terms yes that means we updated and recalibrated". If you know a way to tell from the service sheet or otherwise that they provided some kind of update, let me know and I'll look it up.applied the HD audio fix/recalibrationEverything else was "unable to duplicate", which I basically expected since they are all MFT/Sync software issues that are a) sporadic and b) the dealer can't fix. Noted they didn't seem to update the version of the MFT/Sync. So, I'll keep an eye on mileage and MFT/Sync, and continue to look towards probably selling this car sooner rather than later this year if things haven't improved. murphy Report post Posted March 26, 2014 There were problems with some APIMs. It simply means that the warranty on the APIM has been extended so that if yours eventually fails it will be replaced under warranty. The current version of Sync is 3.6.2. 1 larrylwill reacted to this
