What audio settings do you use

Recommended Posts

Interested to see what people are putting for the bass, midrange and treble on their car. So far I've been keeping them in the middle, but anyone find a good combo? Also what is the point of surround? On my 2010FFH it played DVD's so surround sound was cool, but for playing music why would anyone not have it set as stereo.

I don't know about the FFH, but the THX system in the MKZ sounds best in Surround. At least to me it does. I keep bass and treble 1 notch from max. Mid is two notches above 0. :)

I have left everything in the middle so far. One feature that is nice that my wife's Prius has is that the sound settings are unique to the audio source. We've found that USB audio in the Prius tends to have more bass compared to HD radio or Sirius. We turned the bass down for USB audio. Anytime we use USB audio the bass is turned down. On other audio sources it isn't. I haven't experimented with the MFT FFH enough yet to know if it also does this.

I have the 2013 FFH SE with the standard radio. The Surround option disappeared after a few days and I have not been able to get it back.

I've finally started playing with the audio settings over the weekend.

My current settings are +3 bass, 0 mid, +3 treble.

I have the HyTi with the premium sony system, but I'm not impressed. Is there a subwoofer with the system? I can't seem to find any settings to get a good bass-y tone (or crisp highs for that matter).

I find that if I move midrange anywhere past the middle that the bass gets muddy.

I don't seem to get good response out of the speakers unless I put volume at halfway, which annoys me.

Maybe I'm jaded because the speaker setups my friends and I have at our homes, but I can't believe THIS is the high quality sound system.

In general the sound is OK for a car radio, just don't advertise it as a premium sound system.

It's been a long time since I've had the car now, but I think the Audiophile sound system in my '06 fusion was better. I could at least get good frequency response at low volumes, unlike this sony system. It's almost like sony designed it so that you have to play it loud.

You have to be driving and have the Speed Compensation turned up to enjoy the bass. There really is no true subwoofer, it combines several of the speakers to produce the bass. I think there is a chamber on the back shelf for bass. Compared to the stock non-Sony though, it is so much better.

Can't compare to the Flex though, that one will make you jump with the beat.
