TSB 13-10-4 LOSS OF ONE-TOUCH-UP POWER WINDOW OPERATION

I came across this today. We've had this problem for a while now with our 2013 Fusion Hybrid SE. All 4 windows have exhibited this problem at some point during our 8 months of ownership.

 

Has anyone has this TSB performed?

Both my driver and front passenger windows went stupid this week on my trip to Tennessee. Had to reset them. Guess I will wait till they go dumb again before I take it in. My Z was built 3-22-13 so it falls in the time period of the TSB.

Steve, the problem is that it is intermittent. The reason why mine has never been fixed is because the dealer keeps telling me that they "can't duplicate the problem." If you wait until they go dumb again, they may not be dumb when you get the car to the dealer.I'm going to print the TSB and bring it to them.

Mine has the one-touch quit working every time I get the battery saver message, which even after two 12 volt battery replacements is often. Have to reprogram.

Glad to see that there's a TSB for this issue. We've never had a problem with them, but I have read the frustration of others.

This procedure has worked for me. It is not recurring lately, so I am not going to have the dealer assess or fix it. Good info tho on the TSB.

It has only happened on my front windows BTW

Nice info, glad they finally figured this issue out. It's not that annoying to me as it's easily fixable with the reset procedure found on these forums.

Also, it may be coincidence, but I usually notice the issue re-occurs after I plug my phone into the usb port.

The TSB does say that performing the power door window initialization procedure would temporarily "fix" the problem. That procedure is what you describe in your post.

Unfortunately, both the front and rear windows on my Z go stupid occasionally. More so on the front. I guess Ford will be spending a few bucks to fix mine as they will have to replace both rear door modules, and reprogram the driver and passenger door modules. I guess I will also have them try again to enable my DRLs. :)

This is the very first issue I brought my car in for. It was built on Feb 6, 2013.

 

I've always had the front windows problem. However, a few weeks ago I experienced a weird problem with a rear window.

 

For some reason, the window lost its stop position setting. I noticed it when I returned from lunch one afternoon. The window was down 1/3rd of the way. When I opened it with one-touch, it went all the way down and then went up 1/3rd the way and stopped. When I closed it with one-touch, it went all the way up and then down 1/3rd the way and stopped.

 

I manually closed it and held it closed for a few seconds to reset it, and it worked fine ever since.

I had it done on Monday. My problem was on global open, neither front window would go down.

 

The reset procedure, according to my service manager, is slightly different than has been given in several different threads.

Close the window and release the switch when the window is closed. Push the switch again in the close direction and hold for a couple of seconds.

I brought my '13 HyTi in for an oil change and asked them to check the one touch up on the front windows.

 

Here's what it says on my receipt:

 

OWNER STATES ONE TOUCH WINDOW DON'T WORK FROM FT DOORS.

REPROGRAMMED THE DDM AND THE PDM. SET POWER WINDOW.

 

One touch up now works on the front windows.

Since my Fusion will go in next week for the transmission oil leak fix, I'll bring up the TSB and see if they'll do it all at once under the $100 deductible of the extended warranty.

I hope that the $100 deductible works out for you to cover one $100 deductible for all repairs this trip rather than being $100 per item repaired.

I had to reset both front windows again today! I am soooo sick of it. I'm afraid that if I ever have the need to use global close, the fronts will not go up. So, I never use global down and I always make sure the windows are closed before I leave my Z.

Steve, even when my windows aren't operating as they should my global open feature always works fine. I have the problem with both cars. The dealer has reset them many times and I have also. It's not worth the aggravation. I never expect them to work.

I had the problem until the TSB was performed and the service manager reset the windows. The procedure was slightly different than the one I have seen in the forum. Unfortunately I didn't write down what he told me and do not want to post a procedure that may be wrong because I don't remember it correctly.

We solved our problems abruptly a couple months back by swapping the Fusion for a 2014 Mazda 6. I loved the Fusion, but the quality problems were too much to deal with.

Mine has had the TSB applied at the dealer twice now and they still won't work. I gave up on them. The Global open-close works perfectly though. This is on the FFH - the MKZh windows work OK. No Issues with them.
