How to find build date?

Recommended Posts

I keep seeing all these TSB in april which is the month mine was built but I cant find the exact build date. Is there a website? I see the people saying its on the window stick from the ford site but for mine its not.

So it appears i got a 4-27 build date. That works I guess as it puts me past most of the issues other than one recall that doesnt showup because its battery related in under 0*

How often is ETIS updated?

When I put in my VIN it shows 3 Outstanding Field Service Actions which were already updated by my dealer.

Outstanding Field Service Actions

12A04 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - APPLICATION PERFORMANCE UPGRADE
12M02 - SYNC WITH MYFORD/MYLINCOLN TOUCH - WARRANTY EXTENSION COVERING ACCESSORY PROTOCO L INTERFACE MODULE (APIM)
13B07 - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) CALIBRATION

Thanks

It took 10 days for the 13B07 update to disappear from mine, and those other ones related to sync may stay there for a lot longer since it relates to the warranty extension (don't know if both would be that way, though)

I put my VIN into etis and it does up as a transit connect van and not a fusion...what's up with that?

It's not on the window sticker.

Go here

http://www.etis.ford.com/

Click on Vehicle and enter your VIN. The build date is in european format, since it's a european web site.

Funny, my build date IS on the window sticker - Mar 16, 2015 - which coincides with info I was getting from Ford qa web site. Look on bottom of window sticker where dealer identification numbers are and it will be there ... at least on '15s.

EDIT: My car was factory order and not off the dealers lot prescoped. That may make a difference.

The date at the bottom of the window sticker is normally 7 days before the build date.

Welp, Ford QA site stated "in production" on 3/16 which is the same date as on my sticker. These are the stage dates from that site:

Date Status
02/06/15 Order Processing
03/16/15 In Production
03/25/15 Awaiting Shipment
03/26/15 In Transit
04/13/15 Delivered
04/14/15 REALLY delivered <== my comment

So you're saying that my car was actually produced on Mar 23-24?

My Window Sticker says Wednesday, 11/21/12

OASIS & Etis both have the build date as Friday, 11/30/12.

Sounds like one is the scheduled production date and the later one is when it rolls out the other end.

That is pretty much my assessment as well, that the date on the window sticker is when the factory starts processing their paperwork for that specific build, including building up the window sticker, and also when they start getting all of the preassembled part assemblies scheduled and lined up for the build.

As far as how long it takes the build to be completed from actual start to actual finish though the factory line seems to usually only take a day or two from what info I have been able to gather. And the date when the vehicle leaves the factory line in a completed state is the build date which we see in ETIS.
