dalesky Report post Posted November 16, 2014 EDIT- should have read the thread first- duh! I now see that there has been much discussion about calling them and asking for a better deal/
larrylwill Report post Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Pandora streaming is not a lot, I have 4 Gb plan and including my work email, VPN, Testing clients, games and such I rarely ever use more than 2Gb a month. I stream at least 2 hours of pandora a day.I have 300mb, 1gb is $10 more. We rarely use the cell phone except when traveling or in the car. 50 music stations for $5 is way more then we would use. However if I could get that $25 for 6 months with auto renew at that price like someone got that would be great. I guess I have to call them. md13ffhguy Report post Posted November 16, 2014 When I called to cancel, they immediately offered a year at 50% off. That's how you know it's overpriced! 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted November 17, 2014 I had Sirius XM for 6 months for free, then called them after 6 months to cancel - they gave me 6 more months for something like $40 or $50 with an auto-renew. I didn't realize the time for renewal had come, so they renewed me for 12 months at regular price. But when that time is up, approximately February 2015, I will call to cancel unless they give me 50% off again for a year. Honestly, I don't use Sirius that much - mostly the traffic when I'm leaving for work so I know if I should take I-95 or the Florida Turnpike. 90% of the time, I have my iPod plugged into the USB port. If I didn't have Sirius, I doubt I'd miss it too much.
murphy Report post Posted November 17, 2014 I have two radios that have no subscription. At least once a month I get an offer by email for 6 months for $25. The music "tax" gets added to that charge.
jeff_h Report post Posted November 17, 2014 I have two radios that have no subscription. At least once a month I get an offer by email for 6 months for $25. I now have a free 3-month trial subscription on a car I no longer own... sold the 2013 FFH in Dec 2013 and Sirius gave me a prorated refund of unused subscription (so I know they are aware that the car was sold), but got a letter 3 days ago saying that ESN xxxx has been reactivated for a free 3-month trial and they hope I enjoy listening. So wherever the car is, well I hope they enjoy it.
acdii Report post Posted November 17, 2014 I still get XM "your radio it activated for a week" notices on the Camry I sold many years ago.
DirectorMan Report post Posted December 19, 2014 I got the $29 for six months offer a few days ago. My free subscription expires December 20th. Considering how few stations I find interesting enough to listen to, together with my 30GB a month data plan for listening to Pandora, TuneIn and Slacker, along with the fact that I don't spend a lot of time in the car, I'm tempted to wait until they offer to pay ME to listen to their product. murphy Report post Posted December 19, 2014 I usually listened to one station. I once asked them if I could get a subscription for one station for $1.00 per month. They said no so I have no subscription. My latest offer, today, is 6 months for $25 and then $14.99 per month plus fees and taxes after that. That's a lot of money to listen while I drive 2.5 miles to the grocery store.
GrySql Report post Posted February 4, 2015 I just got a last gasp, desperation, yellow envelope letter from Sirius that tells me that I can get 5 months for $20 for my Flex. 2 TonyHzNV and hybridbear reacted to this

TonyHzNV Report post Posted February 4, 2015 I have yet to get the first letter even after a phone call.Mine ran out more than 6 months ago.If you really want Sirius, just call them and tell them you heard about the 5 mos/$20 deal and you want to know if you can get that. They'll offer you a deal. I call to cancel every 5 mos and they keep offering me 5 mos/$25, so I take it. Been doing that for quite a while now. This is Sirius "Select" service, not "All Access". Still, you get like 102 channels (in-car only, no Internet). I tried getting deals for Travel Link/Traffic, but no luck there. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted February 5, 2015 I still get letters on the Camry and portable XM radio. They finally got the message on the Fords that I do not want it.

thrasher086 Report post Posted February 20, 2015 My trial is going to run out on the 2nd of March. I got a call yesterday to renew Sirius. They made a good offer from the start since I wanted traffic and travel link. It came to 46 bucks and change for 6 months of Sirius select with traffic and travel link. Hopefully I can just keep asking for that for years. 24.95 for 6 months of select and half off the services which comes to 18. Then 3 something for taxes and royalty. Easy Rider Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Well they have a new scam going now. For $2 I have them invoice me each time. They send an email reminder. I called them and they offered me a year for 80 some dollars.Since I don't like to dicker and that works out to less than $10 a month, I took it. Alas, the confirming email showed a total of over $300.......because they added on a second year at their top price. I called back and raised hell. They assured me that it was a "mistake" and would correct it. I have yet to receive a corrected email OR any invoices. I suspect this saga is not over yet but at least they don't have my credit card number to make any automatic charges.
Howie411 Report post Posted March 3, 2015 I renewed yesterday. Told them I wanted the same deal as last time. 5 months of sirius and 5 months of traffic. Came out to $39 which is basically $5 a month with an extra $2 a month for traffic.
