Recall Notice FUEL DELIVERY MODULE REPLACEMENT

I should be getting free scheduled service for the next year for the number of times I've been in for defects. In first two months of owning my FFH, I was in the dealer five times just trying to get the driver side BLIS system to work correctly. They totally misdiagnosed the issue the first time. Also had to have the fuel filler assembly replaced because I couldn't open the fuel door without clawing it open with my fingernails. I'm also one of those who got the wrong gear shift knob.

To bad the FH couldn't have been built by another Car Company. But then again, there are Bad Apple Dealerships in every Auto Manufacturing Corp. , not just Ford's but it's the one I dislike at this time.

Well this should be interesting today. They've had my car for a complete week now to replace the Fuel Module and fix the clicking popping noise and the Original complaints I had the First time I took it there because they couldn't fix it then nor did they try, as proven by the paperwork I finally got back after three days waiting for that, the paperwork.

I'll post the new paperwork when I get the car home, right now they just called me and said the car was ready to be picked up. " Sorry you had a Long wait, we didn't have the Other Parts for your car."

What a joke these Ford people are.

My suggestion would be write to Ford through Facebook or Twitter and have them open a case for you. They may suggest other dealers in your area to go to.

 

I did this for the TSB for the sagging trunk and it worked out very well for me. I have posted my complete experience about this in other threads... just search for my posts.

 

My usual dealer did the TSB for the popping sound and I have not heard it once since.

I'm waiting for the fuel module for both of my cars. Ford checked them and neither are leaking - no gas smell.

My fuel delivery module wasn't broken, but since getting it replaced yesterday, it seems to be BADLY broken. Took it in today for a diagnosis of the strong fuel smell upon return to the garage yesterday and upon walking in this morning. Tech said inspected car including vapor recovery module and no problems found. Smelled fuel again upon return to garage. NO I didn't run over a gas can driving in yesterday.

I had an issue with a local dealer on my f250. They fixed the ac leak GREAT, but broke all the antenna wires on the back of my nav. Apparently there is 3 different cables that go here and there and I dunno where else. They ordered one at a time but the 3rd one turned out to be the one it needed. So I went back 4 times. They scratched the front fender flare when they replaced the batterys under warranty and gave me shit about repainting it. My grandma could look at it and tell they removed the battery and when they were getting off the ladder they fell forward and it scratched it to hell.

 

Also They broke the cowl clips under the windshield and the plastic under the door (dont know why they removed it).

 

When I called up ford about all these issues they looked up my zipcode and told me which dealerships to goto in order of "customer surveys". The one who had all these screwups was actually at the bottom for my area.

 

The service manage locally told my service advisor to tell me to never come back. Yet after he told me that on my last pickup (3rd nav wire trip). I walked right back in to show him ANOTHER plastic piece that was reinstalled wrong and since it was sitting in the sun the piece was warped. To prevent any future breaking when they fixed that (there senior tech fixed it the last time) and it was still bowed a little. But after a few weeks of being in the sun it went flat again.

 

 

Hopefully all of what I just typed made sense lol. Im kinda scatter brained right now.

There is a powder used by home heating oil service persons to get rid of the odor of spilled home heating oil which is basically untaxed diesel fuel. I don't know if it works on gasoline but it might.

My Generator doesn't leak, but it vents so it always smells of gas. I moved it to my barn and chained it to my trailer, no more gas smell in my garage. I have 5 acres with lots of trees and shrubs, and gave up trying to trim them as it took a very long extension cord. I put the Genny in a garden cart, and pull it behind my tractor now. Only need a 50' cord now. :)

No dice, they have been told that there is a shortage of these fuel modules, other Dealers won't share if they have one.

I'll have to wait until Ford Parts can find one for me, no arrival date will be given for the part.

My install date for tomorrow is cancelled.

Got my Fuel Module Installed and new software too, now MPG is 32 from 40 Avg.. Great, I went Down in MPG.

Ford doesn't seem to be to serious about Anything, let alone Customer Service.

What a Joke this Company is. Must be New Corp. Policy, see how many customers you can loose. I for one won't be back after this mess. It's just a shame I have to wait, car is Only 7 months owned, Hate the company, car just so, so.

NOTE:Parts are available in sufficient quantities to begin repairing all vehicles. Refer to Parts Requirements and Ordering Information in attachment II for instructions on ordering parts through the Special Service Support Center.

NOTE:A small number of Fusion/MKZ vehicles having specific December 2012 through February 2013 build dates may have been built with updated parts. An inspection can be performed on vehicles within the identified build dates to determine if they can be removed from this program.

GrySql.... Take note of the Amount of gas you have in the car, they would like you to keep it Low as possible when you bring the car in for That Service. They have to drop the gas tank from the car to do the replacement. The less Gas in it, the better.

Double check with the dealer on this fact. While an empty gas tank means less weight it also means a greater volume of gas fumes and fumes can be more dangerous than the liquid.

The Dealer didn't said anything about it either way, so I'll just show up 'as is'.

 

I learned about the 'empty tank is worse that a full one' in an interesting way.

Here is one of my fire incidents that I responded to in 1976, an almost empty tanker in LA Harbor, ballasting and venting with no spark screens in place - it blew up.

Lots of adrenaline moments during that one.
